Karen was super responsive and extremely gracious when we accidentally locked ourselves out, coming to open the house while we enjoyed a Red Sox game at Fenway. She even kindly let our dog outside for a potty break while she was there! The home is nicely updated, VERY clean with plenty of parking and a large kitchen and dining area which is where everyone always ends up. It’s just a short ten minute walk to the commuter rail and quick drive to grocery shopping, the liquor store and of course Dunkin Donuts! We were also able to make easy day trips to nearby Salem, Swanscott, Lexington and Concord. The house is located on the commuter rail train line which can be a little noisy and even rattle the house a bit, but our infant and toddler sleep right through it. Just in case, we provide a white noise machine for any sensitive sleepers! In only a 5 minute walk down the street and a 20 minute train ride into the city, you can be enjoying the sights and sounds of Boston. We do offer a large computer monitor on the desk in the bedroom along with wifi so that you can stream your own collection of shows and movies at your leisure. The home is clean, located on the second floor and filled with light from the east in the morning and the south during the day. The living room, dining room and kitchen are a great room concept. The living room has an electric fireplace and the heating throughout the unit kept us warm. There’s no TV but we watched shows on our laptop and wifi worked well. The kitchen has all major appliances and we were left with cupboard space to place our own food and cooking items. The kitchen is sufficiently equipped to cook or bake, which we used a lot. The bedroom is large and light filled with storage for clothing in drawers or hanging and luggage racks. The linens are good though we found the bed a bit soft and the double size adequate. The bathroom is updated and comfortable. The washer and dryer are new, large and did a great job of cleaning. There is a lovely porch on the south side with a beautiful grill, dining table and seating area. The back yard also has room to sit outside and enjoy the weather. There was ample space for us to park. There is a lake across the street, 3.3 miles around, which I ran around daily. Two grocery stores are 1/2 mile away. The train to Boston is a 10 minute walk and we found this convenient to get into the city, rather than drive and park. The train passes behind the house and the car traffic in the front are noisy but there are sound mufflers in the house to address those. I found the home easy to keep clean for the six weeks and there are cleaning supplies and equipment. Betsy was very responsive to our inquiries and addressed any issues quickly. We were comfortable in her home and would recommend it to others."

- "When we got there, there were people hanging out with brown bags and the police, ambulance and fire just got there. A person at the restaurant said they are always there. I believe some live at this hotel. The outside was littered with empty cups and garbage. The floors in the room were dirty and disgustingly slippery. When I tried calling before we left to see what they had in room, the number listed kept saying error and when I finally talked to the main lobby, the women answering the phone couldn’t tell me what was in the room ( I was making sure they had a hair dryer) she shouldn’t have been answering the phone. She kept saying they didn’t have a double room available ? When I got there I noticed there was a dryer but it didn’t work , the electric plug didn’t work in the bathroom. Also one of the room plugs you couldn’t plug anything in because it was too big and everything kept falling out. A fan in the bathroom would have been nice so you didn’t have to wait for steam to clear. One of the rooms also had cigarettte holes in the sheet. I and others with us will never go to this hotel again and definitely be more careful on Vrbo."

Welcome to our private in-law apartment located in the basement of a family home. The clean and open concept apartment is fully equipped for a comfortable length of stay for you and your family. We are very close to the heart of Stoneham and STEPS to the local grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants, and ice cream shop. The nearest bus stop is a 2 min walk that will take you to Oak Grove Station in Malden which connects to the train station in Boston! If driving, I-95 and I-93 are minutes away!

The space
Guests will have access to the entire basement suite all to themselves.

This is a private in-law apartment accessed from the backyard. Guests will park in the driveway from the front of the house then walk to the back of the house going down only 6 steps. There is a slight downgrade when walking to the apartment door from the steps. There is space in the driveway for 1 car available to guests (or 2 cars parked tandem).

Smoking of any kind is strictly prohibited; including cigarettes, e-cigarettes, cigars, vaping, marijuana, and drugs of any kind.

We hope guests traveling with children and pets enjoy the spacious and fully fenced backyard with space for littles to run and play. We have included our most beloved family games for you and your family to enjoy!

Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire basement in-law suite using a smart lock. The keypad provides easy and secure access without the use of a key. You will receive the door's password code on the day of arrival and it will expire 15 min past the checkout time.

One closet is being used for storage and therefore off limits. (Labeled storage closet.)

The washer and dryer are located in the utility room of the home though a door just outside the suite. The use of the washer, dryer and all laundry essentials are included with your stay. The utility room does store some storage items that guests do not have access to.

** This is a private walk-out basement apartment. Please keep in mind we live directly above the guest suite and there is potential for some foot traffic overhead and you may hear our dog barking from time to time.

We are pet friendly, however we do ask that pets are well behaved and the guests are mindful of this. We have a large crate available for use if guests need to leave pets inside for a significant amount of time.

Because we are family and pet friendly, we ask that pets ONLY use the left side of the yard and guests pick up their dog waste with doggie bags we provide.

The spacious living room offers a pullout sofa that turns into a full size bed, the master bedroom offers a king size bed with closet and for additional storage a bureau withdraws, the second bedroom has a full size bed , there are air conditioning units in every room of the apartment. all linens and toiletry are included. Large TVs also in both bedrooms and living room with Wi-F Internet also available with the unit, there are two trash barrels in the back of the house. One is for recycling, the other four trash. We will be adding a day bed as well by July 20th. SO again a King, a full and will have day bed. VERY SPACIOUS Apartment overall.
