This is a nicely furnished old Philly style row home with everything you need, located in the West Powelton neighborhood of Philadelphia. It is NOT an apartment. The whole house is yours. This area is just great for all kinds of restaurants, entertainment, cultural sites, educational opportunities and just hanging around. It is beautifully diverse and there is always something going on. If you are here to study, it is generally quiet, perfect for those doing rotationals/clinicals or just visiting our nation's first capital. Only 4 blocks to the Septa Market/Frankford Line, known here as the "EL". Then one stop to University of Pennsylvania, two stops to Drexel Station and then another 5 minutes to Suburban station and Jefferson Station. Not too far from Clark Park farm market and very close to grocery stores (Aldi's is 6 blocks away), public transportation, restaurants and bars, coffee shops etc a very up and coming neighborhood. It is on-street parking and you can often get a spot right in front of the house. The area around the house is patrolled by Drexel public safety, Drexel police, Philly police, Penn police, Penn public safety, university city ambassadors, etc.
This is a 3-bedroom house but two are being used as offices, one with a Spaze sofa bed, 1 large bathroom with large tub/shower, a 1st floor powder room, living area within the kitchen area, large front room with large dining table and nook seating area. The laundry is in the clean basement and the washer/dryer is clean and a lovely patio area in the back. Everything is here-linens, kitchen equipment, office supplies, toiletries, etc. And for those who like to cook, I offer a FULL range of spices and higher end pots and pans. There is a desk in each of the two upstairs offices. Much of the house has been renovated but still retains the charm of the early 1900s with original red pine flooring, two mantels and all the rest. This is a non-smoking home for all items that make smoke.

Right after placing our booking, the property manager reached out to inform us of additional cleaning fees that were not disclosed on Expedias listing, and which we needed to pay before getting our check in information. This trapped us in a situation which either forced us to forfeit the entire cost of the 2 night booking or pay the additional cleaning fees. Additionally, the listing said there was off street parking, however upon arrival they only offered us street parking on a busy street in a bad neighborhood (also not disclosed in listing). Lastly, the listing said it sleeps 4 adults, but there were only 2 full-size beds, which for your average sized adult doesn’t work. We ultimately decided not to stay at the property because the experience felt very dishonest, unwelcoming and unsafe. Expedia was kind enough to refund us some of the stay’s cost, but the property flat out refused to engage on the matter. Avoid this property. "

The space
Some people find my neighborhood to be hip and cool and their favorite neighborhood in Philadelphia, although, it’s not for everyone. I can promise that you will be cozy and comfy in your sunny furnished room in my large house across the street from a lovely park.

The reservation includes WIFI, a twin size bed, desk, chair, large wardrobe closet, and a lamp. A mini-fridge, microwave are also in the room for your use. It is a non-smoking, clean, quiet, well-maintained house that sits on a quiet friendly street. Quiet, cleanliness, resourcefulness, independence, and no smoking are important.

The house is a five minute car or bus ride to the University of Pennsylvania and only ten minutes to downtown. There is plenty of free street parking right in front of the house (very rare in the city). The 42 bus conveniently picks up at 51st & Spruce. Also, the 52 bus will drop you off at the high speed rail which will take you to center city in record time. Also, bike rental stations can be found throughout the neighborhood. A spacious newly renovated laundromat is just three blocks away. Sorry, but there is not a kitchen or washer and dryer.

The neighborhood is University City and is full of fun and exciting things to do. I will recommend many things to make your stay enjoyable and edifying. It is close to the universities and a vibrant mix of culture, restaurants, cafes, museums, and shopping.

There is absolutely no smoking allowed in the house. Also, for the sake of all house guest I ask for the noise be kept to a minimum after 8pm.
