The suites are tricky to find. don't go to the grocery store accross the street it's ridiculously expensive and they put the price tag sticker on the back so you don't know until you check out. Welcome to our neck of the woods where you are literally 5 minutes from the main entrance to Grand Canyon National Park's South Rim. The National Park is open year round and offer's exquisite views for all 4 seasons. Located in Tusayan Az.
Brand new Hardwood and Carpet recently installed and ongoing projects are expected to make this “the” place to stay while visiting the Grand Canyon, minimalist but well appointed. New Master Bathroom!
Our bungalow sleeps 6 comfortably with room to stretch out if you need more space. With two full baths, a comfy living room and a well equipped full size kitchen with everything you'll need to cook (if you're so inclined) a full meal.
Commune with nature on the large front porch where you'll often times see deer and elk roaming the adjacent Forrest Service property.

NOTE: There is now air conditioning in the house, because of our altitude at nearly 7000 ft above sea level the nights are cool and the days are warm but generally not terribly hot, but we have a portable unit. .

Please keep in mind a few things:
The house is right in the middle of the National Forest which is terribly dusty with fine dirt everywhere, it is physically impossible to keep the dust/dirt out of the house especially during the windy season (most of the summer).
The weather in the summer is unpredictable with Monsoon season bringing heavy rain and wind, please plan accordingly. Winter is cold and snowy at times, generally blue blue sky and cold temperatures are normal with cold being in the 0-20 range and daytimes 30's and 40's remember we are at nearly 7,000 feet above sea level.
Critters, Varmints & Vermin are around all the time and they try their hardest to get into the house, we do our best to keep them out but occasionally a mouse will try to share the space, we cannot 100% prevent it from occurring. Keeping the Bobcats, Mountain Lions, Deer, Elk along with Ravens and Crows out is much easier but remember no trash can be left outside period.
You must have a complete profile prior to a booking request with a photo ID attached and verified thru VRBO. Your request will be denied without this information, this is for our safety and security and the safety of our staff and employees.

Road Conditions: The dirt and gravel roads leading to the site are well maintained but can be bumpy. While AWD is recommended, many sedans have successfully made the trip. RVs must inquire before booking.
Wildlife Encounters: You may see and hear elk, deer, and coyotes—if nature sounds make you uneasy, this may not be the best fit.
Eco-Friendly & Off-Grid: Fully solar-powered retreat with dark sky compliance for incredible stargazing. Portable batteries available for charging small devices, but high-power appliances (hairdryers, etc.) cannot be used.

Pet Policy:
Only dogs are allowed, as our tents have openings that make them unsuitable for cats or birds.
Dogs must always be on a leash while on the property, and each tent can accommodate up to two dogs weighing 75 pounds or less.
Dogs cannot be left unattended in tents, and if a dog is left alone, Highland reserves the right to cancel the reservation.
