Just a quick word on the measures we are currently taking regarding this time and the COVID-19 virus. After every guest stay we are disinfecting all heavy traffic surfaces (door knobs, faucets, remotes, cabinet handles, fridge handles, etc). If bringing you pet with you just be mindful when your in the backyard. While large, it is not fenced in. So please try and keep your pet out of the neighbors yard. While in the home please keep let off of furniture and we recommend crating if left at the home unattended. We will leave bags at the home for picking up the yard after your pet.

A quick hop on I-75 will lead you to Tahquamenon Falls, Whitefish Point, Oswald's Bear Ranch, or the Soo Locks. A short drive down US-2 will lead you to the Deer Ranch, Mystery Spot, Cut River Bridge, Garlyn Zoo or the beautiful sand dunes for a perfect swim in Lake Michigan.

NO PETS- NO SMOKING. Beautiful newer 2 bedroom, 1 bath end unit directly on Lake Huron overlooking the Straits of Mackinac. Located in historic St. Ignace, this lovely open and airy getaway is steps from a Great Lake with views of Mackinac Island as well as other area islands. Close to the boat lines, casino, and so many regional and popular vacation destinations. A small private deck is a great spot to witness the incredible morning sunrises and catch all the daily activity of Straits activity including freighters passing through the shipping channel.

Each bedroom has a new queen mattress. There is a shared bathroom and a stackable washer/dryer. The open great room has a nice kitchen with coffee maker, blender, dishes, pans, etc counter bar, electric fireplace, comfortable bar stools, smart TV and walkout to deck. The location of the apartment is actually at the end of a business strip mall, so it confused us when we were looking for the property. It looks like it was converted from an insurance firm office to an apartment, but it's so nice!"

It is very relaxing to watch and anticipate the diamond shaped patterns in the waves as they gently break on shore.

Constructed in 2021, the home features all-season construction with complete kitchen and laundry facilities. It comfortably sleeps 12 in its six full sized bedrooms. Three sofas and a loveseat can also serve as sleeping space and are particularly inviting for grandchildren. In addition, there is ample space in the loft and bedrooms for sleeping bags that are distant from foot traffic. With four and a half baths, and several eating areas, the home manages large groups of people effortlessly.

For most people, the trip to Bois Blanc Island begins and ends with a trip on the "Kristen D." The "Kristen D." is a car and passenger ferry, owned and operated by Plaunt Transportation in Cheboygan Michigan. Plaunt Transportation has been serving the transportation needs of Bois Blanc Island since 1932 when it was started by Charles Plaunt and continues to be a family owned and operated company. The Kristen D. is 95' long and 36' long. Departure is from the Plaunt Transportation dock in Cheboygan, MI and the trip to the island is an enjoyable forty-five minute ride. It is extremely important to arrive at least twenty minutes prior to departure to and from the island as it takes time to load vehicles on the boat. Plaunt Transportation crew drive all vehicles onto the boat as it is typically a tight fit. Vehicle owners then comfortably drive off the boat under the guidance of the crew. Be certain to make your ferry reservation well in advance as the boat frequently fills up as far as two weeks in advance. Air transportation is available to Bois Blanc Island by Great Lakes Air and Fresh Air Aviation. We have had very positive experiences with Great Lakes Air on our flights to the island. Both air carriers have departures from the Cheboygan and St. Ignace airports. You can individually schedule flights at your convenience with Great Lakes Air. The Bois Blanc Township Airport features an impressive runway available for private and commercial flights. Information about the airport can be found at the addresses below. If you plan on flying to the island arrangements for transportation to and from the home and airport will have to be done on an individual basis.

PLEASE PLAN ON BRINGING ALL FOOD ITEMS WITH YOU. "The Island Diner" is the only location on the island to purchase food stuffs and it HAS LIMITED ITEMS IN STOCK, this cannot be stressed enough. While provisions can be ordered from mainland stores and delivered to the Bois Blanc Township Marina, it is best to plan ahead as last minute items can prove difficult to obtain. Meal planning should be done in advance and you should plan on bringing all food stuffs with you. Basic pantry staples will be stocked at the home. If you have any questions in regards to meal planning, supplies and provisions please feel free to ask.

- "The little cottage was not luxurious, but had everything we needed. There was one thing missing, and our host provided that immediately. I so preferred this to some noisy hotel. The kitchen and bathroom were both remodeled recently. Our host Austin was very accommodating, and open to suggestions we made to further enhance the experience for future guests. Loved looking out to the tall beautiful trees. The host does live close by, but this was not a problem whatsoever. We walked threw his yard to the lake to watch fireworks over the Mackinac Bridge one night. Thank you Austin!!"

Featured on the lower level is a spacious two-part living room, a well designed dining area with a view, a kitchen with an island, and a nice parlor room. The upper level consists of 4 uniquely designed bedrooms, and a full bath at the end of the hall. Each room has at least a full-sized bed and a television for entertainment. This home has a lengthy front porch to relax on, as well as a side porch and a driveway for parking. It is only a few minute walk into downtown, with stairs conveniently located across the street to walk you down the hillside! This place is walking distance to Shepler’s Ferry Line to Mackinac Island. The one mile of downtown St. Ignace starts here with the Driftwood Restaurant & Molly Moo’s Ice cream. A beautiful boardwalk starts just a few blocks away and follows the shoreline thru town. Fireworks are every Saturday night and you can watch right from your living room. This is an upstairs apartment with a neighbor who owns a dog and another rental downstairs. This is located on the main road of town.
This is an upstairs apartment newly renovated. The sliding door does not open as we have yet to build the roof/deck off the front. There is a shared washer/dryer in the basement. The deck on the first floor is a space for the first floor only.

Woods restaurant is a two minute walk from us. Owned by the Grand Hotel, they offer a hunting lodge atmosphere with a Bavarian style dinner menu for you to enjoy. Reservations are recommended. 906-847-3699

Cannonball is about a mile and a half away! They offer fried foods and ice cream. Don’t forget to try their world famous fried pickles!
