- "We enjoyed our stay. The apartments are very new so everything was in great condition. It’s a small apartment but a perfect size for two friends sharing. Very comfortable bed. The company which owns the property have an office downstairs and they were very helpful- gave us brilliant restaurant recommendations and held on to our bags when we arrived before check in. The location was great. We could walk to lots of restaurants, the museum and to all our tour start points. Really glad we stayed in the city centre rather than on the outskirts. Would definitely recommend this property. The only slight negative is that you have to use a phone connected to wifi to access your apartment. It worked fine as there is free wifi you can connect to in the apartment block, but we went on quite a few late finishing tours and were worried what would happen if we forgot our phone or our battery died. Log cottage, built in 2006. Living room-kitchen with wooden sofa bed, 2 bedrooms both with 2 single beds, loft with 2 mattresses (loft is low and stairs steep), sauna with wood stove, shower in the steam room, separate toilet and large covered terrace on the river side.

Fish smoking oven in shared use between three cottages. A reasonable amount of firewood is included in price; more firewood can be purchased from the caretaker 5 e/50 liter box. Spacious cottage on the banks of a flowing river. In the area there are 2 other cottages, this cottage is in the middle of the two other cottages. - "Lovely cottage for a winter's stay. Warm and cozy, well equipped kitchen and a fantastic wood burning sauna. The cottage is much nicer inside than the photos show. In a quiet location. We didn't have a car and it was absolutely fine travelling there and back by bus from Rovaniemi although it did mean we had to carry all our food with us. The space
The location is great all year round.

In winter and spring, you can enjoy the view of frozen lake and snowy landscape. If you like cross country ski, you can start from the doorstep and go around the famous kirkkolampi track or go further using the several ski tracks that go around Rovaniemi.

In summer and autumn, the track going around the pond is a perfect place to walk and see many kind of birds, squirels and other animals. You can also seat in one of the two kiosks and gaze at the nature.

The house is located in a quiet area 10 - 15 minutes by walking from the city center. It is composed of three private rooms (1 double and 2 single), one big living room, equipped kitchen with the dining table, one bathroom, one toilet room and sauna room.

The bedroom has a 160 cm wide double bed. An extra bed is a sofa bed, which is located in the living room.

The space
Important notice: The house is commune or shared flat living with no services. This means that the room price don’t include bed linen, towels nor cleaning so you have to clean your bedroom and shared spaces, take care of garbage and dishes. And do winter maintenance outside. Only one guest per bedroom so the house won’t be crowded.

The house has four bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, toilet and bath room. You will have this bedroom for you but rest of the house excluding bedrooms you’ll share with other guests and host. The bedrooms don’t have locks nor safe deposit box.

A set of bed linen and towel can be rented with extra price.

The house is more or less one open space excluding bedrooms, toilet and bathroom which are shared with other guests. Spaces and closets you cannot use are marked with private tag. The carage and storages are private.

There is a sauna but unfortunately cannot be used due to technical issues.

The house is located in Pöykkölä (4 km from the city center!). No Wifi! The area is peaceful and quiet. There's a lake near and good outdoor activity possibilities. Note that you’d have to share the house with me and my son! We live here so please be respecful. Respect the neighbours as well so don’t disturb them. There’s no space for a car in the parking lot.

Other things to note
Make sure you don’t knock on neighbours doors when coming. Respect other people as well who live in the area.
I expect you to understand about sustainable travelling. We recycle carbage: plastic, metal, bio, glass, cans and bottles, carton. Electricity is expensive so in winter time the house is not super warm. For this reason you can’t take long showers and take sauna every day. And please keep windows and doors closed during winter time. Wooden floors don’t like water so try not to bring snow inside the house (luggage wheels tend to gather it). Don’t walk inside the house with your outdoor shoes on.

Black coffee, salt and pepper are prepared for the guests. The guests are free to use the kitchen and the nearest market is only 5 minutes walk from home. Oven and microwave are free to use as well.

Renovated (Pictures of the kitchen updated), spacious and cozy apartment in a peaceful neighborhood, 5km from the center of Rovaniemi. The apt has a bedroom with a comfortable queen-sized bed, a spacious living area with a full kitchen and a sofa-bed, as well as a loft area. We can be easily reached since we live in the same building, and we are happy to help with anything. The area is quiet and close to nature, with a beautiful lake nearby.
