Indeed, the weather forecast showed low chances of seeing the Northern Lights, but we did during our stay! If you are looking for a more rural location in the Tromso area, I would strongly encourage you to stay here."

On Kvaløya.

Everything you envision Northern Norway and the arctic has to offer, is in your backyard. Red Peak [Rød Tind] and the cross country ski arena are literally steps away. Thus epic trails, hikes and ski tracks just outside your doorstep.

Red Peak [Rød Tind] is one of Tromso´s most popular family friendly hikes. 470 m [1540 ft] above sea level. Perfect for experiencing the spectacular northern lights, hiking, skiing and snowboarding in the winter. Breathtaking hikes in the summer. With stunning views of the ocean and the surrounding mountains. While enjoying the midnight sun.

There are also fire pits and resting areas along the trails and ski-tracks. Perfect for roasting marshmallows and hotdogs. If you are lucky; the friendly neighborhood reindeer will come and say hi. In the fall you may harvest blueberries and lingonberries.

Do you love the Ocean? Fishing? A short 8 minute walk and you are there.

Are you bringing your kids? There is a playground in front of the house. Or simply stroll over to the playground at the Elementary and Junior High School.

It´s a short 13 minute drive to ´The Jekta Mall´. Northern Norway´s largest shopping mall. Or continue on to Downtown Tromso, aka ´Paris Of The North´. For shopping, vibrant nightlife, bars, restaurants, cafes etc.

A five minute drive up the road, you will find an outlet with both a Thai and pizza restaurant. Two grocery stores, flower store, gas station, pharmacy, hair salon and a gym. Vårt lune hjem består av 5(6*)soverom, 2(1*) stuer, kjøkken og 2 bad. Fordelt på 3 etasjer og 157m2. Sengeplasser til 11 gjester. Parkering til 3 biler. Inkludert en ladestasjon.

Alt man forbinder med Nord-Norge har du rett utenfor døren. I umiddelbar nærhet. Rødtind [Red Peak], lysløypa og ski-stadion er dine nærmeste naboer. Med episke tur og skiløyper.

Rødtind er en av Tromsø´s mest populære familievennlige toppturer. 470 meter over havet. Perfekt for å oppleve nordlyset, stå på ski og snowboard om vinteren. Fantastiske turer om sommeren. I midnattsola. Med utsikt over havet og de omkringliggende fjellene. Om høsten kan du høste blåbær og tyttebær. Her er gapahuker og bålplasser langs løypene. Er du heldig, så kommer reinsdyrene og sier hei.

En kort 8 minutters spasertur så er du ved sjøen.

Har du med deg barna?
Det er en lekeplass foran huset. Eller ta med barna til lekeplassen på barne- og ungdomsskolen et par minutters gåtur unna.

Det er kun en 13 minutters kjøretur til Jekta. Nord-Norges største kjøpesenter. Eller fortsett bare videre til Tromsø sentrum. For shopping, pulserende uteliv, barer, restauranter, kafeer, etc.

COOP EXTRA ligger 5 minutters gåtur herfra.

BUSS-STOPPET ligger 4 minutter unna. Bussen tar deg direkte til/fra flyplassen og sentrum. Samt til alt som Tromsø har å by på

Bensinstasjon ligger 5 minutters kjøretur unna.

You will have one of the best view over Tromsø city and mountains from the living room. You can see wild eagles, Northern lights, and the famous Hurtigruten boat directly from our balcony! Hike in the wild forest up the mountain right behind our house.

The bedroom is private in a shared beautiful flat.

It has a prime location: no noise from the city/road, only 7 min by bus to get into the city center, walking distance from shopping mall and Fjellheisen cable car to have the best view.

The space
Our comfortable and modern apartment is located in a nice and quiet residential area, very nearto the cacble car leading to the best point of view in Tromsø.

Also a forest with a hiking path will guide you to the top of the mountain.

We have two bedrooms, one for Airbnb and one that is used by ourselves (Jon and Jo). The bedroom is private and can be locked.

We provide everything you need for a comfortable stay (extra blankets, heating, workspace, coffee and snacks )

You share with us a large bathroom which has floor heating, bath, shower, hair dryer, and towels, so it is perfect for relaxing / warming up after a long day exploring the Arctic!

You also share with us a fully equipped kitchen (oven, electric stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, utensils and cookware) and a cozy living room with TV, fireplace, and balcony.

Your room is equipped with a kettle to make tea/coffee whenever you want. There is also a desk with a chair and a monitor, suited for working remotely, and we provide access to good Wifi. You are very welcome to join us in the shared living room, prepare a meal in the kitchen, sit and eat at the dining table, watch a movie, or relax/work comfortably by the fire place.

The closest bus stop is only a 2 min walk away from the apartment. Within 7 min by bus, you are inside the vibrant and cozy city center, which has plenty of restaurants, bars/cafés, Northern light and whale watching tours, and museums.

Within a 10 min walk (or 3 min by bus) there is a large shopping mall including a grocery store and pharmacy.

In 20 min walk, you reach the Fjellheisen cable car which brings you up the mountain for a fantastic panorama over Tromsø. We are also close to the Tromsdalen cathedral and Kroken ski resort.

The apartment is located close to the airport and city center. If you arrive by public transport from the airport (bus stop Tromsø lufthavn), you can take bus 24, 40, or 42 to the bus station (Giæverbukta) or city center (Skippergata or Polaria). From there, you can take bus 28 toward Solligården and exit at bus stop Reinen skole or Reinen. The apartment is only a few minutes walk from the bus stop.

Perfect for a couple or a single person who want to go cross-country skiing or randonee, and not too far from the city. Sometimes the northern light can be seen from our balcony, or have a short walk up the hill for a even better view.

A nice, modern appartment with two balconies that gives you a beautiful view over the Mountains surroundings Tromsø from Tromsdalstind in the North-East to southern parts of Kvaløya and Malangen, and the nice colors when the sun is under the horizon. The balcony in the East side gives you a good chance of watching the northern light. Walk a steep Hill of around 60 meters behind the house, and you will have an amazing view.
