Do you want the best conditions to enjoy aurora borealis, make a fire in the middle of the nature or just relax in front of the fireplace? This cabin is ideal for persons that choose nature before the city.

This is a traditional norwegian "hytte", without electricity, water and television. It has instead solar panel, fire place and kitchen with gas.

Before the ice sets, the quickest way to access the cabin is by rowing for five minutes. In the winter time it is possible by foot or skies.

The space
Rakkvassbu is a cabin, or "hytte" as we say in Norwegian, located 30 km from Tromsø centre, without bus transfer. It is 25 km from Tromsø airport.

In the winter, you need to walk around 700 meter from the road to the cabin. It may be snowy or icy, I prefer to use skies or snow shoes.

If you want to stay here, be prepaired that it may be cold, you need to heat up water, make the fire and use the gas stove ander there is no shower there.

So it is truly a beautiful spot, but it takes more energy to be comfortable.

And the lighting pollution is minimal, so it is a perfect spot to observe the Aurora borealis in the winter time. In the summer and autumn it is a great place to spot birds.

There is no electricity or running water, and not yet a place to shower. You will need to manage the fire place, gas oven and easy use of the solar panel.

Other things to note
It is not allowed to fish in the water, due to local regulations. This is very important!

When the water has frozen, it is app. 700 meters from the road to the cabin.

You will need warm clothing and in the winter time either skies or snow shoes to get to the cabin.

Cabin in Andersdalen. About 50 minutes outside Tromsø city center. Nice hiking opportunities right outside the door, with the possibility of enjoying nature on the flat or going on longer trips.
In the area it is possible to both hike on your feet and ski/summit skiing.

The cabin has one floor. With two bedrooms with double beds, kitchen, bathroom and living room.

To get here you have to have a car. There is a large parking space outside you can use.

The cabin is a warm and inviting space. The main living space has an open plan kitchen and living room. The bedroom with a 160cm bed and bathroom with sauna are located on the main floor. Upstairs you can relax in the tv room, catch up on emails in a dedicated work space or enjoy the northern lights from the upstairs balcony. The laundry room is located off the entrance.

Cabbin only 26 km from Tromsø Airport, 20 km from City senter , a perfect location for watching the mythical northern lights!
The Polar night lasts from about 27 November to 21 January. The sun stays below the horizon for the entire period.
The midnight sun is visible from about 20 May to 22 July.
Northern lights you can spot during the period from the beginning of September to the middle of April.

The space
The cottage is located idyllically down to the sea, close to woods and mountains with beautiful hiking and skiing trails, there are also several fishing waters in the surrounding area. In the autumn this is a great area to celebrate berries and mushrooms. In winter, this is a great area to ski, there are several popular ski slopes in the area. About 2 km from the cabin is a light slope. 16 km from the cottage you will find Tromsø Alpinpark.

About 5 km north of the cabin you will find Skittenelv camping, offering a range of activities. For example, you can swim in the world's northernmost heated outdoor swimming pool with a 50 meter slide and a small splash pool with slide for the smallest. The pool is at a temperature of 28 - 30 degrees. The pool is only open summer.
Air 51 Softgun course is open all year. You can hire weapons and safety equipment here, so you do not have to bring your own. You can also play miniature golf, grill, rent a boat and fish in both sea and water.

The dark time lasts from about 27 November to 21 January. During this time the sun will be under the horizon.

The midnight sun is visible from about 20 May to 22 July.

Northern lights you can spot during the period from the beginning of September to the middle of April.
The northern lights shine most often and strongly between kl. 20 and 02, but also before and after this time period one can experience the northern lights. The fact that you never really know when or how long the northern lights will reveal will help make the northern lights extra fascinating.

**Master bedroom**
When you enter the master bedroom, you are greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The room is tastefully decorated with dark, warm colors that create a feeling of tranquility. Here you can enjoy a good night's sleep in a comfortable double bed, surrounded by stylish details. The room also has a nice reading corner.

**The attic bedroom**
The large bed is perfect for relaxing after a day of adventure, and the window gives you a fantastic view of the fjord right from the bed.

**The cozy bedroom**
This bedroom offers a bright and fresh atmosphere, perfect for two people. The two single beds are located by a window that gives you a great light in the morning. One bed can be converted into a double bed, so that a total of 3 people can sleep in the room. This room is ideal for children or friends traveling together.

**The living room**
The living room is the perfect place to gather friends and family. The large, comfortable sofa is ideal for relaxing, with large windows that let in plenty of natural light and offer a spectacular view of the water and mountains in the distance. Here you can enjoy good conversations, watch a movie, or just enjoy the view with a cup of coffee.

**The dining room**
The dining room provides an elegant setting for your meals, with a great view of the fjord. The dining table seats 7 people, and with large windows on each side, this room is filled with light and air, making meals even more special.

The cabin is only 30 minutes from Tromsø airport, and offers an ideal location that combines easy access to the city with scenic surroundings. Here you can enjoy the silence in nature, while being a short distance to the city's amenities. The area is known for having particularly strong Northern Lights, which adds an extra dimension to your stay. To get to the cabin, it is recommended to have your own car, but it is also possible to take the local bus that runs a few times a day. The nearest store is a 30 minute drive from the cabin, so you may want to plan your purchases well.

Just 20 minutes drive from Tromsø Airport, this Lodge, on the island of Kvaløya, is surrounded by stunning countryside landscapes. Mountains and seascapes provide breathtaking views in all directions, and the countryside peace and quiet with little noise and light pollution provides the ultimate place to kick back and enjoy your vacation.

We recommend car rental but there is also a bus stop right outside the property that takes you into the city of Tromsø in approx 40 min.

The space
This is an old fashion Cabin with new bathrooms. Three separate bedrooms and one sleeping alcove (Separated with a curtain, this area can be opened up to extend the living space it has a large WiFi TV, or closed off for more sleeping space 2 single beds). One bedroom is best suited for kids(bed1-180cm, bed2-120cm). Kitchen is smallish, but contains a dishwasher. Living area has a nice fireplace.

You rent the complete Lodge. There is also an on property Sauna that can be prepared for guests stay at an extra cost.

The space
The cabin consists of an open living room and kitchen, a
bathroom and 3 bedrooms with 3 double beds. One bedroom has 1 extra bed in the form of a bunk bed that is most suitable for children or youth. It is thus possible to sleep up to 7 people at the cabin. Since the cabin is initially rented out with only 6 beds, it must be advised of the need for the extra bed space in addition to the 6 that are included for extra bed linen.

The cabin has a heat pump and wood-burning stove for heating.

The entire cabin can be used by the guests with the exception of a storage room on the 1st floor and a storage room in the basement that is locked off and only allowed to host.

Other things to note
There is a road all the way to the cabin, but guests must consider whether to drive all the way up to the cabin in the winter. If it is very slippery and icy it is best not to drive up the last hill, but rather park in the parking lot down by the main road to walk up to the cabin.
In such conditions, it is recommended to use stings that guests should bring to this stay. There are stingers in the dresser in the hallway that can be borrowed during your stay if some guests are missing stings. Please remember to put these back on departure for the next guest.

At this cabin you can really relax. The cabin is of high standard, built in 2017 and is spacious. Nicely located like know one of Norway's best trout and smoke water, Laksvatn. In winter, this is a unique place for the Northern Lights and hiking skiing with many spectacular mountains in the area such as the salmon waterfall and the big Blåmann. In the summer there are nice hiking and fishing opportunities, rich birdlife, biking or hiking. Lower your shoulders, there is also a Jacuzzi and sauna.
