Other things to note
Please understand that this is a very simple (but intact and tidy) cabin, where you need the ability to act independently and reasonably in the prevailing conditions. It's your responsibility to take care of the cottage while you're there.

The fireplace can quickly get a nice heat, but it won't afford heat. The fireplace of the stove cannot be filled with wood

The indoor temperature can be quite low on cold nights, especially on the first night. It is not worth heating the room with the fireplace, because the fireplace heats up very slowly and most of the heat escapes.

Do not consider a cottage if you are not a wilderness-minded and skilled operator in the conditions described :)

After these intimidations, you can say that if you have common sense about the firesticks and the use of fire, as well as a few good woolen socks, you're sure to be very comfortable and probably pleasantly surprised by the cottage.

The place must be cleaned before leaving the condition it was when you arrived.

FISHING IS PROHIBITED IN THE RIVER!

In the village of Seveti, there is a bar and a small shop next to it.

Amenities:

Free street parking • Indoor fireplace • Free parking on premises • Fireplace guards • Dining table • Kitchenette • Smoke alarm • Waterfront • Lake access • Beach access – Beachfront

Cabin
Inari

A small cabin with just the basics, a stove and 2 camping (without any linen ). Parking easily possible in the summer, challenging in the winter. No running water, no electricity in the winter.

The space
It's a small cabin, about 150 meters from the road. In the winter there will be snow. There is no running water, no electricity (there is a solar panel, but we believe there will be no charge in the winter) and only very basic comforts like heat from the stove, the isolation is good so the cabin is warm when you have a fire.. There are 2 camping beds without proper mattresses (thin ones are there). There is a spring downhill from the cabin, across the opening and downwards, it's marked by 2 sticks but not too easy to find. There is snow and ice during the winter, so no water then.

Amenities:

Pets allowed • Indoor fireplace

White Creek Wilderness Cabin
Cabin
Inari

Looking for a Lapland hide-out place in the heart of nature? No neighbours, no street lights. Simple but joyous life with fetching water from a spring or from the lake. Making fires. Staring at the lake through the ever changing scenic window.

Welcome to White Creek Cabin. View the lake straight from your bead. Sense the history in the planks on the wall telling tales of past and life style slowly forgotten.

Enjoy sauna and cool down in the creek.

Come or be brought here. You will rest well.

The space
An old reindeer owners cabin built in the 1950s, renovated 2020s.

This is not your usual Airbnb. Here, you will have to get your own water from the creek or the lake. Chop some firewood. Start a fire. But you will surely have a unique experience. This is a opportunity to experience true Lappish (cabin) lifestyle. In the heart of the nature, without the buzz and fuzz of resorts.

Location specs:

Nearest shops in Ivalo 25km
Airport 35km

Transportation to/from the cabin is not included (airport for example). Book transportation from me in advance or have a rental car. Check finavia dot fi slash en slash airports slash ivalo

Host will show you around the place and give a walk-through the daily chores at the cabin.

The cabin is for 2 guests. It is not huge in size (15m2) but cozy and warm. Book atleast 3 nights to get orientated to the place and environment. You will rest well here.

Though the place is in the wilderness of Tsarmitunturi area, you can access the cabin by car. Your host lives closeby (17km) and is available outside sleeping hours should you need any assistance.

The cabin is located 25km east from Ivalo on the shore of lake Nangujärvi. There is no one living in the area, though there are a dozen cabins scattered around the lake but usually occupied only in summer, if even then.

In the summer you have a rowing boat accompanied with an electric outboard. Fishing equipment and life vests are provided. Only lost lures need to be payed for.

There are many nice beaches, islands and camp-fire places on the lake. Just cruise silently on the lake watching the amazing midnight sun from the end of May till the the end of July. Or drive further east to Tsarmitunturi Wilderness Area and enjoy day-tripping the nature there.

Winter time you do not need to spend hundreds of euros in some rather expensive glass iglu -resort. Just lie on your bed and watch the sky through the big windows of the cabin. Or just step outside and have a glance at the sky if there is anything going on. And if the fireworks start, walk to the lake.
Just walking on the icy lake is also amazing.

Bed linen, towels, shampoo and conditioner, shower gel, toiletpaper, oil, salt and pepper and a few more spices are provided for your stay as well as firewood. Mini gas cooking kitchen with basic items for preparing food. Food is stored in an ice cooler, summertime in electrical fridge.

There are solar panels and batteries in the cabin and sauna-building providing electricity for led-lights and charging phones etc gadgets. 12V system, no inverter yet for 230V. But there are candles aswell to create more romantic athmosphere.

Mobile network service is not perfect here. Sometimes you can stream videos, sometimes only messages get through. Certain mobile connection 500meters from the cabin in the last crossroad.

Spend your holiday here on your own enjoying the peaceful nature. Walk on the lake in moonlight or with the auroras. Rent equipment or book activities provided by the owner. He can take you on safe tours around the area, in to the Finnish culture of how to be in the woods.

Camp fire is warm, burning wood smells nice, our catch from the lake tastes even better. Welcome to experience very personal and local service to make your stay here memorable.

The host provides:
- snowshoe-trekking
- sleighride tour with a snowmobile to the lake for fishing, enjoying views, silence and camp fire. Food is done on open fire.
- Hiking trips in the summer

For other activities I help you to book them:

- snowmobile driving in Ivalo/Saariselkä

Maura Wilderness Cabin - A true Finnish experience
Cabin
Lake Inari

ONLY FOR THE MORE ADVENTUROUS ONES! The chance to experience real nature in an island cabin on one of the 3300 islands of Inari Lake. Basic, simple, but beautiful and quiet. If you are looking for the real Lappish experience, this is where you will find it. This is not your usual Airbnb. Here, you have to get your own water from the well or the lake, chop firewood, start a fire and so on. But you will surely have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The space
!!ATTENTION!!
PLEASE UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE BOOKING! READ ALL OF THE DETAILS ABOUT THE PROPERTY BEFORE YOU BOOK!
Please, only book this place if you have at least some basic knowledge and skills for camping: starting a fire in the fireplace (there is dry firewood) and chopping wood with an axe, and so on. You will be on your own on the island and even though you will receive excellent instructions on how to use the house and the amenities at the cabin, you will have to rely on your own skills to manage during your stay.

If the dates you are looking at are booked, check out my other island cabin too on Inari Lake in a very similar location, on an island with the name "Loue Island - A true Finnish experience"

For bookings for the months of APRIL/MAY and OCTOBER/NOVEMBER, depending on the ice conditions, the only way to get to and from the island is by hydrocopter. This is only a few days in Spring and a few days in Autumn. Using the hydrocopter is an adventure itself but it comes at an additional cost if it is needed. Ask for a price if you are booking for these months! See the picture of the machine!

I recommend spending a minimum of 3 nights to get a real feel for the environment. It is the best place to disconnect from the rest of the world, relax in a natural environment, and have the best possibility to see the Northern Lights or do some stargazing.

The nearest place where you can leave your car for parking for free (during the whole year) is Veskoniemi Venesatama, a harbor that is located 4,5 km from the island. A boat transfer to and from the island is possible if you don't have your own boat. Please send a message to ask for a quote for this transfer.

Bed linen, towels, environmentally friendly shampoo and shower gel, toilet paper, oil, salt and pepper, and a few more spices are provided for your stay as well as firewood, a gas heater, and a fully equipped kitchen.

The property is situated on Pitkä-Maura Island, which is one of the 3300 islands on Lake Inari. It is only accessible either by water (in the Summer and Autumn), or on the ice (in the Winter and in Spring). There are no other residents on this island and the only other cabin is 450m away, so you will have the whole place as your own.

In the Winter, to get to the island, you can either rent snowshoes or a snowmobile. You can of course also walk to the island, but depending on the snow conditions, this could be difficult.

The cabin can accommodate up to 6 guests, however, it is the most comfortable for 4 adults. There are 2 single beds and 2 sofas that can be turned into comfortable double beds when needed, but with 6 adults, floor space is limited and it might feel crowded.

The main building has a newly renovated living room with a large dining table. There is a wood-burning stove for your use and a gas heater in the Winter months (December-April). You will also find a kitchen that is well equipped, with quality kitchenware and basic cooking ingredients (oil, salt, pepper, some spices, etc.) as well as a refrigerator and a gas stove. There is no oven. The main building is located appx 35m from the shore of Inari Lake. You can get fresh water from the lake to use for cooking and for the sauna.

The property is equipped with a solar panel/battery system that provides 230V electricity in all of the buildings. This provides lights on the property and also makes it possible to charge your phone or other basic electronic devices.

!!! From November to February THERE IS NO ELECTRICITY AVAILABLE!! In this period, bring headlamps and power banks. You will find candles and battery-powered lamps to use. Also in case of extreme cold (-15C or under), the battery system shuts down and there is no electricity!!!

The traditional Finnish sauna is the best place to relax after a long busy day of exploring the surrounding areas. The sauna stove is wood-heated and has a water tank where you can heat your water for your shower. If you are courageous enough, you can do as the Finns and just walk 5 meters to the lake and have a dip. It is believed that Finnish women are so beautiful because they dip in the water in the crystal-clear lakes of Finland. We often even enjoy a cold beer or two while in the sauna.

You will find a woodshed with plenty of firewood to heat the house and the sauna. It is always a good exercise to chop some wood ready. The sauna feels much better afterward. For the sake of the environment, I ask you to use firewood responsibly and only burn as much as you need.

During your stay, you can use the small rowing boat to get around the island, go fishing, and so on.

If you are looking for a place to see the Northern Lights, the island is probably one of the best places to stay from late August to mid-April, as it is on the lake with zero light pollution. The nearest light source is about 4km south, meaning that there is absolutely no light pollution towards the Northern sky. Also, thanks to the micro-climate of the lake, the sky is more often clear of clouds than in other parts of Lapland or the Inari-Ivalo-Saariselkä area.

The basic rental fee is for 2 guests. Should there be more guests, there is an extra charge of 20 EUR per guest per night.

The cottage has all the basic amenities that you might need: bed linen, towels, shampoo, shower gel, candles, gas for the fridge and the heater (only in the winter) toilet paper, soap, cleaning stuff, and cooking gear.

The cottage is suitable for babies and young children in the Summer, but please inform me beforehand (at least 7 days), so that I can arrange any necessary items like a baby bed, highchair, and other amenities. Even if the cabin is Winter-proof and can be kept warm, I do not recommend staying in the cabin during the Winter months with babies unless you have prior experience with handling the cold.

I welcome pets on the island as well as in the buildings. Please, inform me BEFOREHAND if you have a pet with you. I don't charge any extra, I just need to know. I ask you to make sure that pets don't damage the property or the wildlife in the area, as well as to collect anything that your dog would leave in the well-visible areas near the walkways and buildings. Thank you!

Inari Lake is a fascinating place for fishing trout, grayling, whitefish, perch, vendace, pike, or arctic char ,and a few more... You can prepare the daily catch on the open fire on the grill. Make sure you get all of the fishing licenses that you need for fishing in Finland and on Inari Lake.

You may walk around freely on the island. From Summer to Autumn, you might find blueberries, cloudberries, lingonberries, and a handful of different kinds of mushrooms, as well as see some arctic hares and foxes and dozens of birds. Sometimes, even reindeer and moose show up on the island. No need to worry, none of these animals are dangerous, just remember to respect nature and leave no traces behind.

Please note, that getting to the island can depend on the weather and the ice conditions. Sometimes in the Summer, strong winds or storms can make it difficult and dangerous to go out on the lake. In the Spring (May to early June) and in the Autumn (Late October to early December) the access to the island depends on the ice situation. This is different every year and is unpredictable. In case of unsafe ice conditions or very strong winds, check-in and check-out times might have to be changed. The host will notify you about any weather warnings, and in case any nights are missed, a refund will be issued.

To get the 100% full "True Finnish Experience", you should book the program called "Day with a Local". This is a 6-hour private tour with a local guide from Ivalo who will take you on a wonderful day trip to show you the best parts of Inari Lake (in a sleigh pulled by a snowmobile), take you snowshoeing (to tell you about nature), and teach you how to fish under the ice both with ice-fishing rods and with nets. This is before preparing a delicious meal on the open fire, also the fish if you catch some. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience to get a taste of how life is on the Lake and how people live and have lived traditionally in these areas. This activity needs to be pre-booked in advance, and availability is limited.

The "Cleaning fee" only includes the changing of bedlinens/towels and DOES NOT INCLUDE THE FINAL CLEANING OF THE CABIN. The guest booking is responsible for:
-washing all the dishes
-taking out the garbage
-sweeping the floor
-shaking off the rugs outside

Other things to note
ATTENTION: Please, only book this place if you have at least some knowledge and skills for camping, which would include: starting a fire in the fireplace (there is dry firewood) and chopping wood with an axe (provided). You will be on your own on the island and even though there are excellent instructions on how to use the house and the amenities at the cabin, and you can always call on the provided number to receive help, you will have to rely on your own skills to manage.

ATTENTION: For bookings during the winter months: the cabin is not pre-heated so if there has been nobody at the cabin before you in the previous days, it does take several hours for the cabin to heat up during the coldest days. Be prepared for this when you plan your journey and I do recommend that you don't arrive too late to avoid having to find the cabin in the dark.

ATTENTION: The electric system works with batteries and it does not work if the outside temperature is below -15 Celsius and on the darkest winter days (November to February) there is no charging from the Sun. Always bring headlamps and extra batteries with you, as well as a power bank to be able to charge your phone!

The "Cleaning fee" only includes the changing of bedlinens/towels and DOES NOT INCLUDE THE FINAL CLEANING OF THE CABIN. The guest booking are responsible for:
-washing all the dishes
-taking out the garbage
-sweeping the floor
-shaking off the rugs outside

The phone signal on the island is not the best but it is always enough to make phone calls if needed. Mobile data connection is mostly okay outside the cabin but can be poor inside the cabin.

Amenities:

Lake view • Shampoo • Room-darkening shades • Shower gel • Bed linens • Crib • Mosquito net • Books and reading material • Essentials • Cleaning products

The nighty rate includes last mile transportation from the harbour with a heated sledge by our professional guide and the final cleaning at the villa.

Feel the authentic, off-the-grid experience. The villa has a self-sustained electricity system. Household water is collected from the lake and guests may enjoy a traditional showering in an authentic, Finnish sauna.

While we do not compromise any comfort factors, the villa sits in a pristine environment and we will require our guests to participate in some household chores like heating the washing water for the sauna, chopping wood and carrying household water from the lake. Our guides will make sure to give you extensive guidance on all of these topics and are happy to help in case you need it!

Guest access
The guest may use the main villa located at the property in addition to separate toilet (non-heated but a cozy space) building. The wood-burning sauna locates also in a separate building at the site and is at guests exclusive use.

Other things to note
Guests can book additional activities and services through our host.

A local travel company focusing on servicing the property is a family ran business Autentic Boreal.

Autentic Boreal is a local travel agency offering authentic nature experiences. The cornerstones of our operations are exclusivity, authenticity, and quality. We organise various activities including private wilderness expeditions, fishing, snowmobiling and aurora observing and filming.
