This is a cute, cozy, rustic beach house done up in a nautical theme, located directly on the beach. This cabin boast unobstructed ocean and mountain views from the entire living area as well as from the queen size bed made up with cozy bedding located in front of a wood burning stove. The dining area is located in an ocean view window with a couch to curl up on close by. The bedroom has a single over single bunk bed, the bathroom has a stand up shower, and the kitchen is fully stocked. There is a covered sundeck with patio chairs and a picnic table and a private fire pit in front of the cabin again with the same magnificent views.

This room has a dresser and hanging closet with a barn door to unpack for a longer stay if desired. The living area has a comfortable couch and chairs with an ocean view set in front of the fireplace. Outside the sliding glass door is your large covered sundeck with a picnic table and deck chairs, just off the deck is a private fire pit located on the beach. 3-night minimum stay on long weekends.

Available from May Long Weekend Until Mid September. 2 night minimum. Nestled in the trees, The Prospector is a great adult getaway with direct access to the lake's headwaters from this site. This cozy tent includes a queen-sized four poster bed, bedding, hardwood floors and a night stand. Prospector is our only dog friendly tent. Please keep dogs on-leash and add the Prospector pet cleaning fee to your booking. An additional trifold single mattress for a child is in the tent. Bedding for single bed must be brought by the renters. All sites come with their own propane fireplace, kitchen tent with cookstove and private outhouse. There is a shared outdoor showers, outhouse and communal space at the big barn, with sink, bbq and comfy couches. Charge your device and log on to wifi! Password is smithlake Kitchen totes, additional tents and propane for fireplaces may be rented at an additional cost.
Cancellation Policy:
No refunds will be given if you cancel less than 30 days prior to your arrival date. A 50% refund will be provided if we receive your cancellation request within 60 days of your arrival date. A full refund minus a $50 cancellation fee will be provided if we receive your cancellation request in writing more than 60 days prior to your arrival date. Please thoroughly read each listing and reach out to us before booking if you have any questions.
Rules and Regulations:
1) Disorderly conduct will not be tolerated at any time. We reserve the right to evict persons not behaving appropriately. EG: Disrespect to property, people, wildlife etc.
2) All guests are subject to the rules and regulations of the BC HOTEL KEEPERS Act - including eviction for unruly or undesirable persons on the property.
3) Quiet time is 10 PM - 7AM, please be respectful of our neighbors, guests and owners and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. No amplified music.
4) No parties or outside guests allowed in glamping area without prior permission from host
5) There is always a threat of wildlife on the Property. Food and all other attractants (items with a smell like perfumes, shampoos, body creams, etc.) must be kept locked and away at night in the designated bins and while you are away from your site. No food is permitted at any time in the glamping tents.
6)Garbage and recycling must be collected and put in appropriate bins as bear and other wildlife roam our property.
7) Each tent comes with one full propane tank for your kitchen stove, an additional tank may be rented for your fire it.
8) Absolutely no wood fires allowed on the property or beach.
9) Drive with caution at 5km/hr and please respect other guests, wildlife, and livestock by going slow.
10) No pets in the Glamping Sites: Skygazer, White Pine and Laketrail Dogs must be on leash unless otherwise indicated
11) Children must at all times be accompanied by adults while on the property.

It was about 15 minutes from the Mt Wash parkway turnoff - quite easy to get to, and there is a nearby grocery store. Overall a lovely stay! Note to bring basic cooking ingredients (cooking oil, spices, etc) as well as soap and shampoo, as these were not provided. Also the host will text you with check-in details so make sure you have reception/access to your phone beforehand. The sleeping arrangement consisted of a mattress in the loft (comfy!) and a pull-out couch which our friends did not give great reviews comfort-wise, though not atypical for a pull-out! These are fine critiques for what was overall a seamless, comfortable, and very enjoyable stay. Would definitely stay here again. "

This is a renovated two bedroom cabin with the master bedroom boasting ocean and mountain views from the queen size bed. There is lots of storage space to accommodate longer stays. The second bedroom sleeps up to 4 extra people in a double and two single beds again with lots of storage space. This cozy cabin has a full bathroom with a tub and shower, fully stocked kitchen with eating area and large living space with electric fireplace and unobstructed ocean and mountain views. Step through your sliding glass door onto your large covered sundeck and enjoy the picnic table and deck chairs while watching the local sea life. Later in the evening step off your deck and enjoy the private fire pit while watching cruise ships pass by. In the afternoon sun you can walk along beautiful white sandy Saratoga beach.

Available from May Long Weekend Until Mid September. 2 night minimum. Nestled in the trees, The Prospector is a great adult getaway with direct access to the lake's headwaters from this site. This cozy tent includes a queen-sized four poster bed, bedding, hardwood floors and a night stand. Prospector is our only dog friendly tent. Please keep dogs on-leash and add the Prospector pet cleaning fee to your booking. An additional trifold single mattress for a child is in the tent. Bedding for single bed must be brought by the renters. All sites come with their own propane fireplace, kitchen tent with cookstove and private outhouse. There is a shared outdoor showers, outhouse and communal space at the big barn, with sink, bbq and comfy couches. Charge your device and log on to wifi! Password is smithlake Kitchen totes, additional tents and propane for fireplaces may be rented at an additional cost.
Cancellation Policy:
No refunds will be given if you cancel less than 30 days prior to your arrival date. A 50% refund will be provided if we receive your cancellation request within 60 days of your arrival date. A full refund minus a $50 cancellation fee will be provided if we receive your cancellation request in writing more than 60 days prior to your arrival date. 6)Garbage and recycling must be collected and put in appropriate bins as bear and other wildlife roam our property.
7) Each tent comes with one full propane tank for your kitchen stove, an additional tank may be rented for your fire it.

- "you can compare it to camping..or glamping. the lake is small and no fish live in it.so not really suitable for swimming. nice and easy for SUPs. comfortably sleeps 4, 2 people on futons. We asked for extra blankets and were provided with them. the sauna is really nice overlooking the green space through a glass window. The host really cares about the environment. Guests can paddle through the lilies to reach the lake, directly from the path on site. This dreamy tent includes a king-sized bed, bedding, two wicker rocking chairs, and an end table . The tent also has a second trifold queen mattress for children or friends. Bedding for queen bed must be brought by the renters. - "What a beautiful glamping set up! The tent was fantastic, as clean as can be and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The dining tent set up was amazing. Our site was private and we really enjoyed the peace. There was a really nice barn area with tables and chairs and it was a nice place to lounge. The outdoor showers were great. Our site did not have a structure around the toilet, I believe it was the only outhouse on the grounds with no “house”. That part we didn’t love. Otherwise we would absolutely come back!"

The large living area boasts a rustic décor with a wood burning stove and leather furnishings. The kitchen is fully stocked with an eating area across the peninsula. One bedroom has a king bed. There is extra space for a travel crib as well as an extra twin mattress (please request if required).

Welcome to our private studio guest suite located on a quiet street near Saratoga Beach. The bright and open studio sleeps up to 3 people on a comfortable King size bed and small futon. It is a short walk to Saratoga Beach and Oyster River and a 30 minute drive to Mt. Washington. The large entrance room provides in-suite laundry and space to store beach or ski gear. Our suite is an excellent choice for those looking for comfortable and affordable accommodation in this beautiful area.
The space
Our studio guest suite is attached to the side of our rancher home. It has high ceilings and is bright and open. There is available parking for one vehicle in front of the suite.
The suite has a full kitchen including a stove with an oven, a fridge with a freezer, and is fully equipped with everything needed for cooking.
The suite is accessed through a large mudroom with a washer and dryer for guest use. Although we have some belongings stored in here we do not access this area during short terms stays (7 nights or less) so this is a private area as well. If stays are long term we provide notice if we have to access this area.
Please note, we have young children and a senior dog who you may hear occasionally during daytime hours (8am - 8pm). As the suite is attached to our rancher home you will not hear noise or footsteps above you.
Other things to note
Due to the rural area of our home we are on a septic system so it is important that guests follow instructions provided in our guest book and signs in the guest suite.

This charming 160 sqft Tiny Home has a farmhouse style interior design, which, together with the exposed beams gives it a very cozy feeling. Imagine curling up on the long sofa bench, looking at the flames of the electric fireplace.
There is also a heat pump which keeps you warm in the winter and cool during hot summer days.
The small kitchen area is equipped with a 2- burner stove, a small fridge and a microwave. Please help yourself with coffee, tea, hot chocolate etc and some fresh eggs from our chickens.
The staircase, which has a handrail, leads you to the loft. Because the Tiny Home has a dormer, the loft is high enough to sit comfortably on the bed.
Through the skylight above the bed, you can gaze at the stars on a clear night. Blinds on all windows also give you the option to sleep in the total dark.
While staying in the Tiny Home, you can enjoy outdoor living on the attached glass covered deck, which is protected from wind and rain. Barbeque your steak on the propane grill and get some warmth from the propane fire pit. Blankets are provided to keep you warm and cozy.

We are situated between Highway 19A and the ocean. From our property there are many walking trails to explore in the nearby forests.
McLoughlin Park with it's rocky beach and spectacular views of the mainland mountains is only a 30 minutes walk.
Williams Beach, Miracle Beach and Saratoga Beach are short drives away.

The space
The tiny house has one sleeping loft, a beautiful kitchen, a living area with views of the lake. Their is an outdoor shower and an outhouse behind the tiny house. The tiny house’s private three piece bathroom is in the adjacent building through the door under the red lamp. There is also a shared laundry in the adjacent building which guests are welcome to use.
The property boasts 2 docks, trails and a bubble sauna. The bubble sauna is shared with owner and other guests.
In the fall/winter/spring season please book a complimentary tiny house time of 1.5 or 2.5 hours on our website's service page between 8:30 and noon or after 8:30 pm. In the summer please book a 1.5 hour time on the website under our calendy link.

The space
A nautical-themed ground floor 2 bedroom apartment in our home. You will enter via a very practical porch area where you can leave shoes, toys, sandy beach towels, fishing rods, skis, snowboards, small bicycles, coats... or anything else you need to facilitate your Island Adventure!
Inside you will find an open concept dining and living space, flanked by a beautiful live edge pass through counter into the kitchenette. Past the 3 piece bathroom you will find one Queen bedroom, and one with a Single over Double bunk bed. Both bedrooms are carpeted and spacious, boasting plenty of closet storage. And did we mention that both rooms offer ocean and mountain views?!
The whole suite is completely separate and private from our living quarters. It's quiet, though we will sometimes hear each other going about our days. The yard is a serene park-like setting defined by large open spaces surrounded by grand douglas fir trees. You will find that you have very easy access to fishing, beach, river and many other exciting local activities.
In summertime parking in the area can be a challenge, so we welcome you to leave your vehicle while you easily walk or bike to most of the local fun!

While we prefer to keep our yard and vegetable gardens private we encourage you to enjoy the sprawling concrete dining patio and small green lawn space adjacent to the suite! The outdoor space is complete with table, umbrella, chairs, benches and a large Natural Gas BBQ.

We have known and loved Central Vancouver Island for decades. If we are home you will likely see us puttering in our yard, or otherwise generally enjoying life in and around our home.
