Only a very short walk down the hill to the esplanade around the bay, and then easy access to a beautiful sandy beach that provided a fabulous early morning or evening walk around the waterfront. I stopped at the general story, 2 minutes further on, for the best oysters ever! So fresh, only shucked that morning. Dad felt a little unsafe in the shower, but that was the only drawback on what was an excellent venue. Warm and well heated, well equipped kitchen, and the view across the Bay to the Freycinet National Park. Would definitely use this venue again."

The cottage is beautifully renovated and has plenty of character and charm. It serves as super comfortable Tasmanian shack accommodation with reverse cycle air conditioning. The recently updated TAS oak kitchen is spacious and equipped with dishwasher and many appliances. The bathroom is a good size with shower over bath as in the original house.
There is a deck at the rear for relaxing, enjoying a drink or a meal and watching the local bird life. Robins and wrens enjoy to visit and occasionally the beautiful spotted pardalote calls in as well.

On one level, the living, dining, kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms, laundry facilities, rear covered deck and delightful front verandah are available for guest use.

Other things to note
We have rainwater from tanks as the main supply of water. We use the tank water for drinking but feel free to boil the water for your use.

There are some lovely eateries nearby in the Coles Bay area (see guidebook). It is a good idea to book ahead. And there is the golf course for a casual drink and meal. If wanting to cook at home, there are a couple of supermarkets in Coles Bay but will close by 6 or 7pm depending on the time of year. It is a good idea to buy your supplies where you see an open supermarket or shop on your way. Coming from the north there is an IGA supermarket at Bicheno (closes 5:30 or 5pm on Sundays) and from the south, an IGA at Swansea (closes 6pm).
