Bring your own beach towels and other toiletries. We provide 4-5 sets of bath towels and wash cloths in each of the 4 full bathrooms (16-20 wash cloths and bath towels; we'll provide more for larger groups). We also provide toilet paper, liquid hand soap, dish soap and other cleaning supplies. The owner's parents will likely stay in the cottage or nearby during your visit and be there to assist you. Kitchen is fully stocked: utensils, coffee maker (including Keurig coffee maker), pots, pans, spices, etc.

In addition to traditional couches, chairs, etc we can provide 3 portable tables with 24 chairs so that you may set up your dinners and guest seating arrangements inside or outside, however you desire. Our family rooms are large and can accommodate 10-15 adults without these tables. However, we feel the additional tables and chairs will make your stay more pleasurable.

LAKE OF EGYPT: 2,300 acres. It is approximately 52 feet deep at its deepest point. Anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish including Black Crappie, Bluegill, Carp, Channel Catfish, Hybrid Striped Bass, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, White Crappie and Yellow Bullhead.

This listing includes our newly renovated bonus space that has a kitchenette, living room and theatre area, and a 2nd private sleeping area with a queen and twin trundle bed. This area is perfect for privacy when two families stay together. The main unit has 2 queen bedrooms, and a queen and twin sleeper sofa. There is also pass through bunk room between the two areas that has a twin over full bunk bed included with this rental. All together there are three floors of living area and enough sleeping space for 14 people so that the whole crew can spread out. The house is located close to the main boating and tubing area of the lake and just off one of the best swim zones on the lake. TIGHT STAIRWELL: The stairwell and main hallway to bathrooms is tight. Due to the design of the house, the A-Frame slant goes into the stairs- please watch your head!

Open and airy treehouse with queen bed and sleeper sofa, full kitchen, and beautifully designed bathroom. This stay is located in a very quiet 7 acre wooded area outside of Marion, IL but only 9 minutes from downtown restaurants and shopping.

This stay has a relaxing deck and hot tub in the woods and also provides a tube slide and swings for the kids. Also has a beautiful campfire area and a nature trail that is a total of 1/2 mile down and back through our wooded acreage.

There is plenty of Shawnee Forest hiking and beautiful Lake of Egypt less than 20 minutes away.

There is a NO SMOKING policy inside. This includes marijuana, tobacco products, and anything else that burns that is not a candle. A $250 fee will be assessed for fumigation, cleaning products, and delays in cleaning. There are sitting areas outside on the front and back porch that you are welcome to use for smoking. All cigarette butts and smoking products must be cleaned by you or additional cleaning fees will be charged. Thank you for understanding and respecting the property for future guests.

The space
Entry to the house is a standard door key that will be in the door just prior to check in. PLEASE BE AWARE THIS IS A PET FRIENDLY HOME. Even though the house is deep cleaned after each guest, if you have pet allergies you should take this into consideration. This home is located 5 minutes from Marion,
but still has a rural feel. Quiet, peaceful, with porches and decks that give you a view of the sunrise and sunset. It's an older home that is much more spacious than it appears with a small front yard and a very spacious back yard. The yard has a partial fence, but not fully enclosed. A large sunroom is located on the west side of the house. Lots of deer and other wildlife can be seen daily. Plenty of room to park your vehicles or trailers.

The 2000 sq. ft. home and nearly a half acre of yard, are at your disposal for cookouts, recreation or just enjoying the view . There is a large back yard with deer, rabbits and other wildlife passing through. The barns and property to the south of the house are not included in the rental. In season, the hummingbirds flock to the feeders.

Other things to note
The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, dishes, cookware etc. Coffee packs, powdered creamer and sweetener and sugar are also provided. Laundry detergent is provided. If you need any special detergent or fabric softener you will need to bring your own. All trash cans have bags and there will be a several extra bags under the kitchen sink. If you anticipate needing a larger quantity, please bring extra. There is a fire pit and charcoal grill out back. Please do not move the charcoal grill off of the concrete pad. Please provide your own charcoal. Some firewood is available, but you may want to bring your own as well. There are several locations nearby that sell firewood bundles. The trash containers are located by the drive at the chain link fence.

The space
Our charming cottage sits on ten semi-wooded country acres and is 280 square feet. With trees outside each of the fourteen windows, you’ll feel like you’re living in the wide open! The cottage is split into two rooms (a main room and a bathroom). The main room includes a full kitchen and a living/bedroom area complete with Roku TV, Starlink internet, and a cellular signal booster. There is one full size bed, one twin bed, and an extra twin trundle bed. These beds double as seating during the day. The large bathroom hosts an inviting soaking tub under a huge garden window with views of the property. There is a stacked washer/dryer and plenty of storage for your luggage and personal items.

Enjoy some morning coffee on the front porch while you take in the view of the sun hitting the hills and crop fields. Or stay up past sundown to see the night sky with virtually no light pollution.

Our kitchen is fully stocked for your convenience with many amenities. We offer a washer and dryer in our laundry room for use. The living room/dining room consists of a dining table with seating for 6. The living room has a large sofa and two arm chairs with end tables and a seasonal electric fireplace.
