The flies were a problem & were everywhere - even attacking your food while eating. All in all disappointing & too expensive for what you get."

Undiscovered hamlet on the Eastern Cape, small quiet village with 7 kilometer beach. Beach house on the dunes with a beautiful view. Very safe environment and safe beaches with a hiking trail towards Cape St Francis. Look out for the dolphins and endangered oyster catcher birds as well as the sea otters.

The views were amazing and it was great to walk along the stunning beach and coastal walks and hardly see a soul apart from the wildlife. It was very windy all week but there are places around the property to find shelter, including in the dunes. If you want to get away from it all but enjoy a comfortable and well appointed property, this is the place to come. We had a wonderful week, playing twice at the great St Francis Links, which was a tough test of golf but most enjoyable. Four wheel drive recommended for the dirt road to St Francis! My place has wonderful views from all the rooms and you literally walk onto the beach from the house. You’ll love my place because of the kitchen, the high ceilings, the comfy bed, and the light, and the quiet safe surroundings. My place is good for couples and families (with kids). I have installed a large gas stove with 5 gas plates and electric oven. Also a inverter that runs the TV, WIFI and a light, you can also charge your cellphone on the inverter

Old Ladder is a rustic holiday home 400m from the beach with stunning views and sunsets. We have clean beaches and lots of one day hiking trails around Oyster Bay. The deck leads out to a grassy area where you can make use of the fire pit, perfect for evening gatherings under the stars. If you are looking for isolation, beautiful indigenous forest, and a spectacular 7km beach, Oyster bay is the place for you. Thatched, open-plan 3 Bedroom house with breathtaking views. Good fishing from the rocks and beach. Horseback riding nearby.

The space
3 Bedroom, Double storey, Thatched house.
Ground level consists of an open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge. with a large wood burning fireplace. Lounge opens up from glass patio doors to a wooden deck.
There is one large bedroom (Double bed) with a separate entrance leading onto the wooden deck. Full Bathroom downstairs.
A wooden staircase leads up to the First Level where the main bedroom (King size bed) has its own dressing area, along with a small private balcony and deck.
Bedroom 3 has a Double bed, small private lounge area and office corner.
All rooms have spectacular views of the ocean and/or indigenous forest.
There is a lovely outdoor bush shower at the back of the house with hot and cold running water.

Note: South Africa is undergoing load shedding. This is a way to distribute demand for electrical power across multiple power sources. What this means is that you will most likely experience power outages on most days. Guests will be given a schedule of when this will happen. We have a gas stove to ensure you can cook and a barbeque outside. There is also a large wood burning fireplace in the lounge. Please make sure you bring flashlights and we will provide some solar lights for the evening. The culprit is called Eskom.

My place has wonderful views from all the rooms and you literally walk onto the beach from the house. You’ll love my place because of the kitchen, the high ceilings, the comfy bed, and the light, and the quiet safe surroundings. My place is good for couples and families (with kids). I have installed a large gas stove with 5 gas plates and electric oven. Also an inverter that runs the TV, WIFI and all the lights. Upstairs there is a lovely large braai. Lots of nature, sunsets and views.

The space
Open plan with large kitchen with beautiful view, entrance with dining area, lounge + extra braai area with table all over looking the ocean. The bedrooms are down stairs with a large veranda in front of the 2 bedrooms and a smaller private wooden deck in front of the main bedroom.

Very quiet small village, there is a shop and a restaurant, but St Francis and Cape St Francis is about 15km away, where there are many shops and resaurants.
