Imagine relaxing by the toasty fire on a chilly day. Or putting your feet up and listening to the sounds of "nothingness" as you catch a warm breeze on the front deck overlooking the flower garden. Curl up with a blanket, read a book, listen to some music, watch the sky on those clear, starry nights. Experience whatever your personal definition of "tranquility" is.
For recreation enthusiasts, quadding and snowmobiling in the backcountry as well as seasonal hunting and fishing is close by.

Gorgeous views, quiet, secluded.... Everything one could ask for in a getaway cabin" - "This is a beautiful place. The cabin is extremely clean, fresh and tastefully decorated. The beds are comfortable, and the sheets are the softest I've ever felt! There is a lovely deck, with comfortable seating and tables. We had breakfast there every morning. There's also a gazebo, and firepit area, well stocked with firewood. The little garden is delightful, with flowers and a pond and fountain. It is a very quiet and tranquil place to stay. There is no traffic to be heard, unless you count the farm machinery that could be working nearby. There are maintained trails to walk over the property, which is mostly treed. We absolutely loved this place and will be returning!"

- "Our stay was exactly what we needed. The home is as described. We stayed with 2 couples and 2 dogs. The place is clean and quiet set in nature. I would describe the furniture and decor as outdated but that didn't effect our enjoyment one bit. Daniel was a great host and the instructions for the place were clear and easy to follow. Will definitely stay again." - "We had a great springtime stay for a family golf trip. It's a short drive away from some top quality courses in Sudre. Why not drive a half hour on paved roads to the country and experience real Alberta!

Bev is an absolute star host - she thought of everything. Checking in and out was so simple. Thank you so much Bev!!!" - "We had an amazing time here and would definitely love to come back again! The photos did not do it justice; it was more spacious than we expected. A few things we wish we knew before coming to stay: -the property is bordered by some sweet donkeys and horses that added unexpected joy to our weekend! we were also regularly visited by some farm cats -the cabin is part of a wedding venue so there was work being done on the property while we were there -be sure to ask the host for directions before heading out; the address on the Vrbo listing takes you to the wrong place"

The Space
Our two metal grain bins were acquired from a pioneer family farm south of Airdrie and were carefully moved to our property here on the Burnt Timber Road. The Tin Bins Cabin has been custom built by joining the two metal grain bins together thus creating a large open-plan living area/bedroom area that is centered around a warm inviting wood stove. We have created for you a unique” Silocation” experience that is one of only a handful in North America.
Our Tin Bin Cabin features:
• Dominating the bedroom is a massive handmade spruce wood and antique tin bed that Paul has hand-crafted using repurposed fence planks and salvaged tin. Sweet dreams in this beautiful bed are guaranteed with a queen memory foam mattress. Hanging down from the peak in the bedroom ceiling is a large antique Tiffany style lamp that is breathtaking in various hues of blue. Hanging on either side of the bed are antique carriage lanterns, so you have light to read by.
• The cozy leather recliners are situated so that you can sit and become mesmerized by the flames flickering in the wood stove. Between the two recliners is a unique floor lamp designed and hand built using old horseshoes that Paul has used in his trade as a farrier. Throughout the living area are several log stumps that have been crafted from large trees from our property that are used as side tables.
• The foyer area between the living room and bedroom contains a large live-edge log counter and cupboard. Under the counter is a mini-fridge and various cooking and eating dishes and utensils. A detailed packing list is provided upon booking.
• Enjoy the massive deck. The perfect place to cook your meals and eat on the cleverly designed high table and iron tractor seats while you enjoy your morning coffee or glass of wine in the late afternoon sun. NO COOKING INSIDE THE TIN BINS! All cooking must be done outdoors on the two-burner camp stove or campfire grill. The large live-edge food prep counter is located beside the large BBQ that has been reconfigured to hold the two-burner camp stove. Located on the prep counter is a very unique water tap and sink. We, also, provide plenty of fresh water inside the cabin.
• Step off the deck to wander over to the fire pit, slid into the Cowboy Hot Tub (available in the summer months only) or to walk into the woods to explore the closest trail. When evening falls, light the wood in the fire pit, have a seat on the Adirondack chairs located beside the fire pit and maybe cook a few marshmallows!

- "Wonderful location! Wouldve been nice to know there wasnt any elecriticy before I arrived or i wouldve brought a generator. But other then that, LOVED this place, quiet, calm, right by the river! Will be back next year but want to book the A-frame cabin instead, just to have that extra privacy, shade and most importantly being that much closer to the river/creek for my pretty girl Poppy, who just loves to swim! She even made a friend in Viks dog Molly while we were there! They went swimming and playing in the water!"

- "Could have been a bit cleaner. There was some hair on the bed linens. We used our sleeping bags so it was okay. Was chilly at night as we could not get the stove to work for us (that was us not knowing how to use and getting back late to get help). The hosts were accommodating with requests. Bathrooms could be cleaner as well. Didn't seem to be able to get got water to wash our hands with, did not try showers. The firepit is located in an awkward place behind the dome which did not make it user friendly and it was overgrown with grass. Barbecue kitchen was nice. Overall we would stay again."

- "Perfect relaxing getaway, close enough to the city for a quick weekender away. Pet friendly , cabin was perfect for glamping, has everything you’d need and more. They thought of everything. Removed from excessive noise if needed." - "The cabin was sitting on the river which was quite nice. The cabin itself was ok but dirty. Not swept or mopped and there was dog hair covering the mat inside. It was ok not having electricity or water, but that was not in the description online. The description advised that you only need a cooler and comforter. Please over prepare when going like I did. I had to ask for the sheets, there were dirty dishes and water left, no propane for the bbq or the inside heater and the one for the outdoor kitchen was pretty much empty too. no dish towels or wipers but I had packed my own. Overall, it was ok but they weren’t prepared for guests so please overpack. It was nice and quiet except the campers from the campground did come over to the river fishing, which was fine for us. We did enjoy it overall but just want the next guest to be prepared. "

Our private cozy rustic cabin nestled among massive spruce and pine trees is the perfect couples’ romantic getaway. Uniquely designed for the couple looking to sit back, retreat from the outside world, and rekindle that special connection between you and nature. Located 10 minutes north of Cremona just off the famous Cowboy Trail. Hike along the trails that wind through the woods surrounding the cabin or leave the farm to head west to photograph the world famous Alberta Wild Horses.
Stay comfy and warm while watching the crackling fire in the cabin’s wood stove. Fall asleep counting the stars through the skylight over your heads. Slide open the massive glass barn door so that you can step outside and greet the morning sun while sitting out on the deck drinking coffee. Visit with the front porch guests that may wander by – deer, elk, squirrels, horses, cattle and, of course, the resident farm dog, Remy, who may pop by to say good morning as well. We also have three large grass paddocks with heated water bowls if you are travelling with your horses. Large trees also provide for your horses shelter from the sun and wind . ** Please note that we are a working farm operation with horses, cattle, and hay production. So, you may possibly see or hear us as we carry out our daily activities on the farm.
The Space
Our cozy rustic cabin has been hand/custom built by us with spruce and pine logs from our own property and local sawmills. We have provided you with everything you need for a relaxing romantic retreat or “the perfect private staycation”.
• Dominating one corner inside the cabin is a massive lodgepole pine log bed that Paul hand-crafted with logs sourced from the Devil’s Head Ranch west of Cochrane. Sweet dreams in this fantastic log bed are guaranteed with a queen memory foam mattress, comfortable linens and plenty of blankets and pillows.
• Bedside and floor lamps throughout the cabin are designed with horseshoes used by Paul in his trade as a farrier.
• The cozy leather love seat is situated so that you can sit and become mesmerized by the flames flickering in the wood stove. Not to mention eventually being cooked out by the heat!! In front of the love seat sits a blanket box that has been redesigned so the lid lifts to create a table to eat / work / or play games on. Inside the blanket box are your favorite board and card games as well as an extra blanket. Sitting on the bookshelf are several books that you must read about the famous YaHaTinda and our local Alberta ranchers and cowboys.
• The kitchen is equipped with all the cooking necessities. Absolutely NO COOKING allowed in the cabin. All cooking is to be done outdoors on the propane BBQ / outdoor fire pit. There is a side burner located on the right hand side of the grill on the BBQ as well. There is a large food prep counter located outside beside the BBQ. No running water or built-in sinks inside the cabin. Plenty of fresh water is provided. Hot water for washing dishes/yourself, during the winter season, can be pulled from the jug of water provided and heated in the electric kettle. Basins, dish soap, linens and dish drying pad provided.
• Beside the kitchen counter is the back door which leads directly out onto our deck. We scored this amazing antique door from the Hayhurst Grocery and Meat Market in Turner Valley. This business was established back in 1905 and operated until the late 1990’s.
• One of the most unique features of our cabin is the huge sliding glass barn door. The door can be left closed, so that you still can enjoy the beauty of the outdoors through the 6’ foot window in the sliding door when the weather is cold. When the weather is warm – open this sliding glass barn door and the world opens up for you. You will soon find that this is the only door that you will use during the summer months.
• The private outhouse located behind the cabin includes a gorgeous handmade live edge log counter, rope edged mirror, hand sanitizer, paper towels, and an outhouse toilet. We provide plenty of fresh water inside the cabin.
• Enjoy the massive deck. Here you can cook your meals, access the outhouse, and to sit in the Adirondack chairs while you enjoy your morning coffee or glass of wine in the late afternoon sun.
Located on the outside deck are the huge Cowboy Soaker Tub and Cowboy Shower. (Unavailable during the winter season - Oct 15th - May 1st) In our summer season, we have hot running water supplied by a propane powered instant hot water heater. Beside the BBQ is a live edge food prep counter that holds a water pump tap and small sink (summer season only).
Step off the deck to wander over to the fire pit, our Wood Fired Hot Tub and Cold Water Plunge Pool or trek into the woods to explore the closest trail. When evening falls, light the wood in the fire pit, have a seat on the cushioned wooden chairs and maybe cook some S'Mores! Or sit back in the Wood Fired Hot Tub and gaze up into the night and count the stars!! And then be brave and take a dip into the Cold Water Plunge Pool!
Heading off to explore? Mileage for some points of interest:
• 19 km to Water Valley
• 67 km to Calgary International Airport
• 17 km to Cremona
• 155 km to Banff
• 58 km to Cochrane
• 51 km to Olds
• 128 km to Kananaskis Village
• 96 km to the YaHaTinda
For the photographers in the world. We are the idealistic staging area for your hour and a half drive to view and photograph the world famous Alberta Wild Horses located in the YaHaTinda of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The University of Saskatoon Research Centre has verified that the DNA markers in these wild horses indicate 57 international equine breeds in their bloodlines. This makes these elusive horses unique and well worth the trip to watch and photograph them.
Life cannot get any better than this! Luxury "glamping" at its finest!!

2. NO SMOKING in or around the cabin. If you wish to smoke, please place your butts in a sealable container and take them home with you!! DO NOT throw your cigarette butts onto the ground, into the fire pit or out into the trees. Even Smoky the Bear knows that this is how forest fires start!
3. NO COOKING TO BE DONE INSIDE THE CABIN. All cooking to be done outside on the BBQ. A cooking burner is located beside the grill on the BBQ.
4. Please keep your campfire small, never leave unattended and ensure that your campfire has been completely extinguished before retiring for the night! If there is excessive wind or existing county fire bans campfires will not be allowed.
5. No discharging of food waste/bones/grease into the fire pit, outhouse or out onto the ground or the trees surrounding the Cabin. This gravely affects the health of our farm dog, Remy (who is not allowed people food) and will absolutely attract undesirable wildlife. REMEMBER THIS IS BEAR /COUGAR SMART COUNTRY!! Put your food waste into the garbage INSIDE the Cabin and then take it home with you!
6. Please do not feed our farm dog, Remy, or let him into the cabin. If he is a nuisance, please tell him to go home!
7. FIREWOOD – All of our firewood is FREE and a large part of your Glamping experience! An ax is provided.
We, both seniors, have spent many hours splitting the firewood to be used ONLY for the Cabin wood stove.
We ask that you split the free firewood provided to enjoy the outdoor firepit and the wood-fired hot tub experience. You are, however, more than welcome to purchase our split wood @ $20/armload to burn in the firepit and hot tub if you choose not to split wood.
8. Waste Water - Please throw your waste water out into the trees. They will appreciate the moisture.
9. Absolutely NO Soaps, Shampoo, Conditioner or Oils of any kind to be used in the Cowboy Hot Tub.
10. “Camper’s Creed” – Leave the campsite and firepit area cleaner than you found it.
11. Please sign our Guest Book. We want to remember all the interesting people that came to stay in our cabin and every guest that arrives after you loves to read about your experience!
