Welcome to A Greyt Escape! Aptly named after our love of our retired racing Greyhounds, our self-contained guesthouse is located in the heart of Alcona in Innisfil, Ontario. Situated at the back half of over 1 acre of land, the 500 square foot guesthouse has its own yard space, small deck with sitting area, dining table with umbrella, BBQ and fire pit area. **Availability of fire pit is subject to bylaw limitations and if statutory fire bans are in place, the fire pit will be unavailable for use. The yard area is partially fenced for privacy, but feel free to explore the rear of the property with your dog, or otherwise. You may meet our neighbourhood greeter Quattro who is our neighbour’s dog. She is friendly and may wander on to the property from time to time to say hello as the adjacent backyards are unfenced. We are all dog people here so it doesn’t bother us, but if this is an issue for you regardless of the reason (you have allergies, your dog doesn’t like other dogs or you plain old don’t want her around) we totally get it. Just let us know and her owners (who are kind and respectful people) will do their best to keep her from coming on the property. The guesthouse features a full kitchen with fridge, stove, OTR microwave, dishwasher, Keurig coffee maker, toaster and other small appliances, dishes, glasses, cutlery, pots and pans. Also there are basic cooking items such as oil, vinegar, salt and pepper, syrup, ketchup, mustard and relish. The bedroom has a queen sized bed with medium-firm mattress, cotton bedding and down duvet, various firmness of pillows for your comfort, nightstand with USB charging ports and space to hang and store your clothing and other personal items. The bathroom has a new shower installed in 2024 with Kohler shower head. The unit also has heat (winter months only), a wall A/C unit, and ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom for your comfort. All bedding and towels are included for your use, and extra pillows and blankets available if you need them. There is also dedicated wifi, IPTV and Netflix available, as well as board games and cards. You will also have your own free parking spot to come and go as you please. This space is perfect for much needed relaxation for a weekend getaway, extended vacation or romantic getaway for 2. Keep in mind there is only one queen bed on the premises, so the unit cannot sleep more than 2 adults and maybe a child.

The guesthouse is conveniently located only 1 km (2 min drive or 12-15 minute walk) from Innisfil Beach Park & Beach 5. The dog beach is now located at the Main Beach near the boat launch. It is also located within walking distance to convenience stores, several pizza places, Bruno’s Bakery and restaurants. Other amenities such as coffee & breakfast spots, pharmacies, grocery stores, Canadian Tire, Dollarama and LCBO, gas stations and many local restaurants such are all within an approx. 5 minute drive. Friday Harbour is also a short 15 minute drive away where you can enjoy a walk on the boardwalk, shopping, or dining at one of the fantastic restaurants. There are also many options for golfers with The Nest at Friday Harbour, Tangle Creek, Innisbrook, National Pines and for a short 9 hole course, Allandale Golf Course. We are also a short drive away from the 400 Market and Gateway Casino/Georgian Downs Racetrack. There is no laundry on the property however there is a laundromat located only a 2 minute drive away.

This is not a party house, and group events and large parties are prohibited. Please be respectful and keep noise to a reasonable level at all times, but especially after 11 pm.

We expect our guests to treat our property with respect. We charge a very nominal cleaning fee which is meant to help cover the cost of normal and customary cleaning between reservations (laundry, vacuuming, etc.). In return all we ask is that you clean up after yourselves and leave our place in good condition when you leave. If excessive or deep cleaning is required, a $75 charge will apply post check out. Missing items or damages beyond normal wear and tear will also result in extra charges accordingly.

Absolutely no fireworks to be discharged on or around the property on any day, at any time.

Guests are only to have access to the property from the guest house onwards to the rear of guest house/back of property. No access to the garages or main home/yard.
If you have more than one pet or a pet other than a dog, please contact us with details as we may allow more than one pet or other pets on a cases by case basis.

Note: we live on the property but have our own house and yard space at the front half of the property, separate from the guest house and rear of property. You may see us coming and going as we park at the back of our house, but we will not bother you unless absolutely necessary or unless you need something. That said, feel free to ask us if you need anything at all!

The Nest Golf Club:
The Nest Golf Club is open for public play every day, offering great golf experience where nature’s splendor meets man-made challenge. Designed by award-winning golf course architect Doug Carrick, the course features 18 holes of tranquil beauty. The Nest features 9 holes out and the back 9 returning, allowing you to enjoy the traditional “after work” Friday game, with enough time for many more pleasures to round out your evening at Friday Harbour Resort.

Parking:
Parking is free along the street at Friday Harbour Resort, and there are also two big parking lots available for all guests.

Pool Availability
Our heated pool is open seasonally, from May through the end of September. Outside of those months, it is closed and winterized.

Lake Access
We highly recommend bringing water shoes if you plan to enjoy the lake. Some areas of the lake bottom can be rocky and slippery, and water shoes will help keep you comfortable and safe.

BBQ, Fire Pit & Fireplace
Our barbecue and fire pit are both connected directly to a propane line — no tanks or refills needed. If you plan to use the indoor wood-burning fireplace, please bring your own firewood, as it is not provided.

Drinking Water & Ice
The kitchen includes filtered drinking water and a built-in ice maker, so there’s no need to bring bottled water or bags of ice.

Security cameras:
For guest safety and property protection, there are three exterior cameras located outdoors — one overlooking the backyard, patio, pool area, and lake; one facing the front door entrance; and one monitoring the parking area. These cameras record exterior activity only and do not capture any indoor spaces.

My wife and I are big into spa experiences and this home delivered with the peaceful and powerful sauna overlooking the lake. Our condominium is the only building in the community with a pool open to residents and guests (currently closed due to provincial restrictions).

Please note, due to COVID-19, Friday Harbour has imposed new rules affecting short-term guests:

• Access to the Welcome Centre, Beach Club, FH Fit, and play/equipment rentals are currently closed.
• Boardwalk restaurants are open for take-out only.
• No Friday Harbour-owned amenities are accepting cash. All products and services must be purchased by debit or credit.

The courtyard pool will open after the stay-at-home order is lifted on June 2, 2021. Official opening date is TBA.

Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, only thing to recommend would be to bring your own chopsticks if you use them! It was a comfortable stay, it's very new and the backyard was a vacation on it's own :) A walkable distance to the beach is a bonus. "

Newly renovated and perfect for families/friends looking to escape the city for a beach day (or weekend) or young professionals that are in town for a business trip. We’ve got you covered, all you need is a suitcase. A short 5 min drive to Innisfil Beach and 2 mins away from grocery stores. 10 min from the Casino and the 400 Market. Barrie is 15 mins away.

The lower level apartment is accessed by a set of exterior stairs leading you to the entrance. When you enter the apartment you will be welcomed with some treats on the folding dining table to enjoy. In the entrance area there’s a closet to store your jackets and shoes.

Off the front area you will be taken into the full kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, Keureg coffee maker, coffee pods, utensils, pots, pans, baking sheet, plates, bowls, mugs, cups, oil, salt, and pepper.

The living room has 50” firestick TV, pullout sofa bed, two chairs, and a coffee table that can lift up and be used as a work space.

Off the front area there is a laundry room equipped with a washer and dryer.

The bedrooms have queen sized beds, and in the closets you will find an extra blanket and towels.

The washroom has a beautiful bathtub where you can enjoy a nice and relaxing bath. Dove body wash is available to use, also a hairdryer and first aid kit located in the vanity drawers.

3. Please be cautious of noise, especially after 9 pm. Noise complaints are not tolerated and may result in full deposit charges. You may be asked to leave with no refund.

4. No additional guests are allowed in the home past the indicated number on your booking confirmation. This rule is to prevent large gatherings & parties and be fair to guests who do pay the extra fees. Third-party bookings are not allowed.

5. The property must be maintained in good condition with no excessive mess. Extra cleaning costs may apply if necessary so we can effectively prepare for the next guests.

6. Please note that check-out time is by 11 am and keys must be placed as instructed. I often accommodate late check-outs if I know in advance, but last-minute changes may result in a $50 charge per each additional half-hour stay.

7. All bookings require the Primary guest's photo ID and the complete names of the guests above 18 years of age.

8. Lost keys/fob is a $300 fee to reimburse time, parts, labour, and administration involved.

Our house is a new build in a new community. Although all the houses along the street where our house is located are completed, you may find that other houses on some other streets within this community are still under construction. Just pay a little attention and drive more slowly. Still, our place is peaceful and welcoming to all guests. :)

Our place is near Simcoe Lake and beaches. The nearest beach that you can dive into is Leonard's Beach Park, which is just almost 2 km away, equivalent to a 25-minute walk or a 15-minute jog.

The largest and most beautiful beach in Innisifl is, of course, the Innisfil Beach Park, which is approximately 5 km away, equivalent to an 8-minute drive or 15 minutes on a bicycle.

For public transportation, there is no public bus in Innisfil, but interestingly, the city subsidizes Uber trips. You can use subsidized Uber trips with Innisfil Transit option (see screenshots) in Uber app to travel to Go Transit Barrie South, public libraries, or other public places in Innisfil for a flat fare of $4-6, which is great on a rainy or snowy day. I haven’t known of any other municipalities offering Uber to their residents :D

The space
A cozy private attached apartment in the small town of Gilford. Come over and enjoy this quiet place to escape the city life!

The room includes a smart TV with Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime, YouTube and other apps provided by using the guest profile.
You have a full equipped kitchen with a bar-sized fridge and fold-able tables mounted on the wall. All utensils are provided for you, but must bring your own cooking oil and sponge. We have a coffee maker, kettle and toaster.
We have an outdoor patio with a fireplace to enjoy the fire. We do not provide firewood, but will give you the address to a self-serve to buy.

Pets are allowed. (must let us know)

The towels provided are not for pet use and not to be used as beach towels.

There is a boating dock and free boating launch 1 minute walk away from the space.

Mini public beach and dock ready for use.

Keep in mind that we are a small town, all places are up to 10- 20 min drive.
During the winter, there is a Terry Goy Hut Rental down the street for a true ice fishing experience.

It also is equipped with a TV (Amazon Prime incl.) and a mini fridge. Bon Secours Beach offers spectacular views of Lake Simcoe including Fox and Snake Island. A relaxed atmosphere and a variety of outdoor activities, Bon Secours is the perfect retreat for a quiet getaway or enjoying the beauty of all that nature has to offer.

Room 3 is a comfortable room with a King size bed and a dedicated work area. It also has a TV equipped with Prime Video and a mini-fridge in your room. You'll also enjoy the beautiful deck over looking the lake. It's a perfect place to enjoy the beautiful views of the lake over a glass of wine.
