Welcome to A Greyt Escape! Aptly named after our love of our retired racing Greyhounds, our self-contained guesthouse is located in the heart of Alcona in Innisfil, Ontario. Situated at the back half of over 1 acre of land, the 500 square foot guesthouse has its own yard space, small deck with sitting area, dining table with umbrella, BBQ and fire pit area. **Availability of fire pit is subject to bylaw limitations and if statutory fire bans are in place, the fire pit will be unavailable for use. The yard area is partially fenced for privacy, but feel free to explore the rear of the property with your dog, or otherwise. You may meet our neighbourhood greeter Quattro who is our neighbour’s dog. She is friendly and may wander on to the property from time to time to say hello as the adjacent backyards are unfenced. We are all dog people here so it doesn’t bother us, but if this is an issue for you regardless of the reason (you have allergies, your dog doesn’t like other dogs or you plain old don’t want her around) we totally get it. Just let us know and her owners (who are kind and respectful people) will do their best to keep her from coming on the property. The guesthouse features a full kitchen with fridge, stove, OTR microwave, dishwasher, Keurig coffee maker, toaster and other small appliances, dishes, glasses, cutlery, pots and pans. Also there are basic cooking items such as oil, vinegar, salt and pepper, syrup, ketchup, mustard and relish. The bedroom has a queen sized bed with medium-firm mattress, cotton bedding and down duvet, various firmness of pillows for your comfort, nightstand with USB charging ports and space to hang and store your clothing and other personal items. The bathroom has a new shower installed in 2024 with Kohler shower head. The unit also has heat (winter months only), a wall A/C unit, and ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom for your comfort. All bedding and towels are included for your use, and extra pillows and blankets available if you need them. There is also dedicated wifi, IPTV and Netflix available, as well as board games and cards. You will also have your own free parking spot to come and go as you please. This space is perfect for much needed relaxation for a weekend getaway, extended vacation or romantic getaway for 2. Keep in mind there is only one queen bed on the premises, so the unit cannot sleep more than 2 adults and maybe a child.

The guesthouse is conveniently located only 1 km (2 min drive or 12-15 minute walk) from Innisfil Beach Park & Beach 5. The dog beach is now located at the Main Beach near the boat launch. It is also located within walking distance to convenience stores, several pizza places, Bruno’s Bakery and restaurants. Other amenities such as coffee & breakfast spots, pharmacies, grocery stores, Canadian Tire, Dollarama and LCBO, gas stations and many local restaurants such are all within an approx. 5 minute drive. Friday Harbour is also a short 15 minute drive away where you can enjoy a walk on the boardwalk, shopping, or dining at one of the fantastic restaurants. There are also many options for golfers with The Nest at Friday Harbour, Tangle Creek, Innisbrook, National Pines and for a short 9 hole course, Allandale Golf Course. We are also a short drive away from the 400 Market and Gateway Casino/Georgian Downs Racetrack. There is no laundry on the property however there is a laundromat located only a 2 minute drive away.

This is not a party house, and group events and large parties are prohibited. Please be respectful and keep noise to a reasonable level at all times, but especially after 11 pm.

We expect our guests to treat our property with respect. We charge a very nominal cleaning fee which is meant to help cover the cost of normal and customary cleaning between reservations (laundry, vacuuming, etc.). In return all we ask is that you clean up after yourselves and leave our place in good condition when you leave. If excessive or deep cleaning is required, a $75 charge will apply post check out. Missing items or damages beyond normal wear and tear will also result in extra charges accordingly.

Absolutely no fireworks to be discharged on or around the property on any day, at any time.

Guests are only to have access to the property from the guest house onwards to the rear of guest house/back of property. No access to the garages or main home/yard.
If you have more than one pet or a pet other than a dog, please contact us with details as we may allow more than one pet or other pets on a cases by case basis.

Note: we live on the property but have our own house and yard space at the front half of the property, separate from the guest house and rear of property. You may see us coming and going as we park at the back of our house, but we will not bother you unless absolutely necessary or unless you need something. That said, feel free to ask us if you need anything at all!

Winter Activities at Friday Harbour:

The Nest Golf Club:
The Nest Golf Club is open for public play every day, offering great golf experience where nature’s splendor meets man-made challenge. Designed by award-winning golf course architect Doug Carrick, the course features 18 holes of tranquil beauty. The Nest features 9 holes out and the back 9 returning, allowing you to enjoy the traditional “after work” Friday game, with enough time for many more pleasures to round out your evening at Friday Harbour Resort.

Parking:
Parking is free along the street at Friday Harbour Resort, and there are also two big parking lots available for all guests.

Pool Availability
Our heated pool is open seasonally, from May through the end of September. Outside of those months, it is closed and winterized.

Lake Access
We highly recommend bringing water shoes if you plan to enjoy the lake. Some areas of the lake bottom can be rocky and slippery, and water shoes will help keep you comfortable and safe.

BBQ, Fire Pit & Fireplace
Our barbecue and fire pit are both connected directly to a propane line — no tanks or refills needed. If you plan to use the indoor wood-burning fireplace, please bring your own firewood, as it is not provided.

Drinking Water & Ice
The kitchen includes filtered drinking water and a built-in ice maker, so there’s no need to bring bottled water or bags of ice.

Security cameras:
For guest safety and property protection, there are three exterior cameras located outdoors — one overlooking the backyard, patio, pool area, and lake; one facing the front door entrance; and one monitoring the parking area. These cameras record exterior activity only and do not capture any indoor spaces.

My wife and I are big into spa experiences and this home delivered with the peaceful and powerful sauna overlooking the lake. Detached New Modern House In South Barrie - Built H plus ME Technology is located in Barrie, just 1.8 miles from Barrie South GO Station and 2 miles from Sadlon Arena. The vacation home, set in a building dating from 2025, provides free Wifi and free private parking.
