- "What an amazing place! When we planned our Northern Ireland trip we knew we wanted the full farm coastal experience that still had luxury and close to all the places we wanted to explore, visit and enjoy. North Coast 9 exceeded our expectations!!! Communication with our host, Colm, was outstanding. They were very responsive and incredibly helpful. Our room/pod was an absolutely perfect space with great amenities: electric fire, small kitchen sink/fridge, plenty of windows you can open, very comfortable bed, clean and well functioning bathroom. Each window had an amazing view of the farmland. Our first day we hiked around Carrick-a-Rede, spent time around that area and enjoyed our very own and very clean, hot tub. Our second day we authentically explored the Northern coast (via the Causeway Coastal Route), which is so close to North Coast 9. We hiked the Gobbins (highly recommended!!!!), drove the windy roads visiting Cushendall, Torr Head, Ballycastle and the Dark Hedges (so close to the site!). We ended our last night with a nice outdoor fire, wine and hot tub. We woke up rejuvenated. What an absolutely perfect way to spend our time in Northern Ireland. A memory that will last us a life time. We can't wait to come back!"

The cottage was used to accommodate the coach and its driver, who served the Hutchinson family, who lived at Stranocum Hall. It is part of Stranocum Hall but is self contained.
The cottage fell into substantial disrepair until it was fully renovated by the current owners of Stranocum Hall. Set in the grounds of the Hall, Coachman's Cottage has a spacious and airy open plan living, dining and well equipped kitchen main area. The kitchen has a dishwasher, coffee machine, fridge with ample freezer compartment, microwave oven, induction hob and full-sized oven. There is also a log burner in the living area for those cosy evenings during the cooler months of the year, although the cottage is fully centrally heated and has underfloor heating in the bathrooms for extra comfort.
Each bedroom has its own ensuite and there is also a shower room on the ground floor. All bathrooms have heated towel rails as well as underfloor heating, and a complimentary welcome toiletry pack including body wash, shampoo and body lotion is provided. The twin beds in the second bedroom can be made into a super-king, should the need arise. A cot and other baby equipment can be provided by prior request.
There is a separate utility room with a washer dryer, ironing facilities and space to hang out drying clothes. No need to bring bottled water as the entire mains water is fitted with a comprehensive in line filtration system. Outside, there is a private patio and yard, which is exclusively available for use by guests.
The Dark Hedges are just two miles away. Other famous sites are also on the door step, including several locations used for filming Game of Thrones®, such as Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, Ballintoy Harbour, Murlough Bay, Cushendun Caves and Downhill beach. The famous Royal Portrush Golf Course is a 20-minute drive away - excellent for those visitors to The 148th Open.
The owners enjoy meeting new people and will make every effort to ensure your stay is one to remember. There are 2 dogs living with the owners, however they are not allowed to roam free when there are guests staying.
- "Quiet, comfortable, well equipped property, with unobtrusive owners, in an interesting and beautiful area." - "Everything was perfect from the very beginning. Loved every bit of the cottage and property. The hosts went out of their way to be helpful to us. Will stay here anytime I come back" - "Top rate facilities and beautifully clean." - "The word I would use as an overall for this property is amazing. Eileen was a brilliant host, she greeted us on our arrival and then left us to our holiday. Before arriving I did message her about certain things and she was very quick to respond. This was true when I messaged her whilst at the property with a question. The house is stunning, extremely well kept and clean. The in laws that stayed with us are clean freaks and they were over the moon. Eileen had stocked the shelves with the necessities such as coffee & tea plus bought us our milk of choice. The house is in a beautiful setting with lots of farm animals around. The journey up the long drive was a daily pleasure seeing the cows. I would definitely recommend staying here if you want to be near the north coast, so many great stops only up the road."

- "Very roomy and private. Quite nicely furnished. Friendly host. Both bedrooms are upstairs if anyone has mobility problems though. Short drive to town for dining and close to north Antrim coast attractions. Would stay again." - "The “newly refurbished “ Victorian courtyard has great potential! A clean and quiet accommodation with modern on-suite rooms in the recently renovated carriage-house area of a beautiful estate. Great start! Unfortunately, poor access to hot water, a dis-jointed kitchen with only a microwave/hot plate and kettle with sink in another room and poor quality mattress/pillows ….all situated next to the wafting smells of the cattle yard. A great possibility but it needs more work to be a quality experience and place to stay awhile. "
