The Old Rope Works manufactured hand made rope and twine from 1801 to 1972. A display of its equipment and products is on display in Bewdley museum. The building has been lovingly transformed and restored into a luxurious, spacious, bright, contemporary, cosy home whilst retaining the huge character and quirkiness of the original factory. There are original beams, hard floors, bare brick walls throughout, and the working bell tower that once called in its workers.

On the ground floor you have a contemporary kitchen with breakfast seating area and 30" TV, a dining room with the double bedroom off to the left and the luxurious bathroom off to the right, fitted with bath walk-in shower and underfloor mood lighting. On the first floor you have a spacious living room with the original bell still in the roof, double glazed sash windows and cast iron radiators, the master bedroom with en-suite shower room and final single bedroom lead off from the living room. At the rear of the property, through a gated entrance is an enclosed courtyard with very high walls, ideal for children and pets alike. It features garden furniture and a gas BBQ, a real sun trap all afternoon until sunset so great to relax and dine al fresco. There is also a store off the courtyard for cycling and fishing equipment with a wash down hose outside.

Being a log burner fan it would be the icing on the cake if the log burner in the lounge was recommissioned to complete the cosy feel (this of course may not be possible). The bathroom is amazing, the en-suite is a little on the small side but a triumph fitted in where it is. You are a short walk away from Bewdley town centre which has everything you could need as well as direct access to walking routes along the Severn Valley - we recommend walking to Arley (4 miles) or Highley (7.5 miles) and catching the steam train back to Bewdley. A lovely cottage which we highly recommend."

Note: A wall has recently been built between the property and the stream to protect it from flooding, this alters the external appearance, access to the garden is now via steps, or at either end of the wall where the ground is slightly higher, the house now has a secluded space around it, enclosing the car parking area, the picnic table and BBQ.

Located close to the Wyre Forest, the town offers pubs, cafes, restaurants, shops, antique and craft galleries.There are many attractions in the area, which suit all tastes, including the Severn Valley Steam Railway, West Midlands Safari Park and numerous National Trust properties.

Right in the forest the homely accommodation offers a cosy place to meet up with friends. There were eight of us, four couples. We all had our own bedroom and toilet facilities. The lounge has a large log burner and there are several cozy couches. We shared the cooking although the kitchen is fairly small it is well equipped with glasses and plates and utensils. We would love to return when the bluebells are coming out . Thoroughly recommend. "
