- "This hotel was perfect for our one-night pit stop during a long cross-country drive. The breakfast was what you'd expect, and it was overall good. The room was clean and comfy for two people and a dog. I wish there were more grassy areas to walk dogs, considering it's a pet-friendly hotel. Quaint cottage in Kodak on a quiet road where you can enjoy the peacefulness from the screened in front porch. The Kodak cottage is only minutes off of I-40 and the parkway to Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

This a one room waterfront cabin with a cathedral ceiling and polished concrete floor. Sleeping arrangements include queen size bed and one twin bed in the loft. There are no separate bedrooms. There is one private bath with a shower (no tub). Bed linens and towels are provided. The kitchen is stocked with the basic eating and cooking equipment, microwave, mini refrigerator, stove, and coffee maker. Outdoor charcoal grill and fire pit are also available for you use. You have a beautiful view of the river and Islands from the front porch. There is kayak, canoe, paddle board access/ramp on the property and a dock on the river. Fish for small mouth bass, trout, or skip jack heron off the dock. You can occasional spot a bald eagle perched in the trees along the banks of the Holston River, observe river otters, water fowl (ducks, geese, herons), or deer wading the river. The cabin is only 1.5 miles from Interstate 40 (I-40) and minutes from downtown Knoxville and the University of Tennessee campus. Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are just a short drive away. I-40 Interstate overpass is adjacent to the property. You can hear the traffic noise from I-40 and an adjacent highway. You will have full access of the entire cabin, dock and canoe ramp. The East Knoxville Fishing Club has access to the Holston River through this property, so it is possible to have a fisherman park in the area or at the canoe ramp for a few hours. The ramp is at the opposite end of the property from where the cabin is located. There is no cable TV (local channels only) and no wi-fi included; however, cell service is strong in the area.

Enjoy a morning cup of coffee on the screened-in deck while watching all manor of birds like cardinals and humming birds wiz around. You can explore a working horse ranch, or potentially arrange a relaxing ride. I was there in August, and in the evening, you listen to the steady sound of cicadas in the trees. The apartment is very tastefully decorated with the horse ranch theme, and lots of cool touches with repurposed items throughout. This is a country setting. This includes lots of wildlife to enjoy! However, wildlife can pose a danger so you must exercise good judgement and caution, especially during mating season or when the baby animals are present. Best to enjoy the animals from a distance instead of approaching them.

The communication with Cheri was perfect. If we needed anything, she was right on top of it, answering questions right away. The family's house is right there, but you would never know it. They kept to themselves and we had plenty of privacy. Overall, we loved the cabin and would stay again if we were in the area!"

Brave Bear is a new 700sqft Cottage equipped with a great living room and fireplace, full kitchen with appliances and dining, bathroom, and washer and dryer.

Upon entry, you are greeted with the living room with a fireplace, TV, pull-out couch, recliner, and coffee table. Large windows are located on two of the three walls of the living room.

Next to living room is a small cozy space with a table and four chairs to dine. The front of the Cottage is surrounded by windows to let in beautiful natural light and a wonderful view of through the hollow to the Smokies.

Directly in front of the dining area is the fully functioning kitchen, equipped with a bar and three stools, a dishwasher, stove and burners, coffee maker, refrigerator, silverware, pots, pans, knives, cooking utensils, cutting board, salt and pepper, oil, cups, coffee cups, bowls, and plates. Find all that you need to comfortably cook any meal!

Through the hall, you'll find a nook with shelving, a microwave, and cabinets to store your food and snacks! A few steps to the right is the bedroom with a cozy queen bed, two bedside tables with lamps, and a closet to store clothing and suitcases.

Exiting the bedroom to the right is the laundry room/utility closet. The small space provides additional storage for food, and a washer and dryer are available for use behind those doors! Directly across from the bedroom is the bathroom with a sink and cabinets, a mirror, toilet, and bathtub/shower.

The cottage is cleaned between every stay, and you are sure to have a freshly made bed with clean linens, the bathroom cabinets fully stocked with clean towels and hand rags.

Kinder Room at The Lodge at Old City Hall is located in a 1904 historic building in downtown Jefferson City Tennessee, adjacent to Carson Newman University, 2 miles from Cherokee Lake, historic Glenmore Mansion, Mossback Distillery and several local eateries. The building served as the Jefferson City City Hall from 1929- 1989 and as a public school from 1904-1929.
