- "Looking for a good place to stay for our annual meet up with friends, we needed somewhere which was halfway between our homes in Essex and Lancashire and we came across the Bull Inn. So glad that we did. Having read the lovely reviews left by others (note: please ignore the earlier negative ones as they should be attributed to a previous ownership) we had no hesitation in making our booking. There are five guest rooms all of which are in an adjacent converted building. Whilst not over large in size they do have all the facilities and comforts that you require - comfy bed, shower, tv and tea/coffee tray in the room. Most importantly, they are spotlessly clean. Breakfast which is included is served in the pub itself (a cracking full English) whilst evening meals are also available, if required. We dined in on two evenings and found the menu wide-ranging whilst the meals which we had were very generous and excellent. The bar had a good range of drinks ( for example, three real ales on hand pump) and prices - including for wine - were very reasonable. All in all a lovely find in a beautiful setting but the jewel in the crown must be the management team of Leo (front of house) and Deana (working wonders in the kitchen) who despite obvious calls on their time always made took to time out to have a chat and make us feel so welcome. It may sound obvious but it's a skill that not everyone landlord/landlady gets right yet it is so, so important. Would we stay again? Most definitely!"

Set in just under three acres of tranquil surroundings, Manor Stables began its life as accommodation to Sybil Seal and Moonshine, the horses belonging to Manor Farm, once forming part of the Ancaster Estate – now occupied by the owners. You are welcome to stretch your legs and roam at will around the grounds and paddock path with its many trees and views of Haconby’s medieval church and perch on one of the number of strategically placed garden seats should you deem anything worthy of a pause.
Separate entrance to Manor Stables is enjoyed over a small patio area with table and chairs where you can sit and enjoy fresh free range eggs for breakfast or sit and have a drink in the evening.
Once inside, the carefully chosen antiques effortlessly combine with a muted backdrop and sumptuous furnishings to create a luxury self-catering home stay you’ll be reluctant to leave. The accommodation is all on the ground floor with south facing views across open countryside. Coat hooks and shoe box are provided just inside the entrance door.
One king sized double bedroom and bathroom - The French antique-style king size bed is adorned with the finest quality luxury linens, duck-down duvet and pillows which all ensure a blissful night’s sleep. En-suite shower room provides a spacious walk-in shower with towels provided.
Kitchen, sitting room and conservatory - A fully equipped kitchen offers granite surfaces, full size fridge with small freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, Bosch oven, hob and the Award winning Krushr compactor along with the full range of cooking items, crockery, glasses etc. A cold filtered water and hot steaming tap ensures you can make that quick “cuppa” without waiting for the kettle to boil. Tumble dryer,ironing board and iron are available for use.
Off the kitchen is the living room with French doors. Watch the TV or DVD player from the comfortable sofa or simply enjoy the cosy atmosphere created by the dancing flames of the Clearview Wood burning stove. A selection of DVD’s and games are available too. From the living room double doors open into a light filled conservatory which provides a charming dining area with table and seating for four. Views to the south and garden views to the rear of the conservatory can be enjoyed whilst dining.

The Christmas tree was a nice touch too Description states “the fireplace is a top feature of this holiday home” … where there isn’t actually a fire at all. A bottle of wine was given as an apology but feel the description should be changed. Few minor things could be improved/added. Champagne glasses would be nice especially for those celebrating. Needs another comfy chair as only enough seating for 5 adults in the evening. A grill pan for the grill … we weren’t able to use the grill because of this. Otherwise well stocked kitchen"

Braceborough Spa, rising in the grounds of Spa House, was used as a bath-house from at least the early days of the nineteenth century until the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939. The waters have a high concentration of calcium carbonate. Spa house was built in 1841 although there was an earlier cottage on the site which is still in the grounds and maintained.

the neighbours. If it's been reported that there are any parties or events or noise disturbance then you may be required to leave the property immediately without the remaining nights being refunded. There is a charge of £500 if any evidence of a party, gathering or event at the property have been found exclusive of any charges relating to damages or additional cleaning costs to get the property in good order again. You are required to keep the place reasonably clean and tidy - no dirty dishes left over or excessive rubbish to be disposed of as this is not included in the cleaning charge.
