Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome at the Final Furlong and as we run a private, well equipped competition stable yard it is also possible to bring your horse with you subject to appropriate arrangements. There is access to plenty of off road and quiet lane hacking and there are excellent competition venues close by.

This characterful Grade II listed Georgian townhouse fronts onto Bruton's High Street with its eclectic mix of independent shops, art galleries, restaurants and pubs. A stylish, contemporary extension opens onto a secluded patio with steps up to a barbecue/dining area, raised lawn, and an ancient stone garage opening onto a quiet lane giving easy access to country walks.
The space
Accommodation is over three floors.

Ground floor
The front door opens onto a large dining room with a window seat under a window looking onto the High Street. This room has many original Georgian features including wooden shutters and a fireplace, not currently in use. A Fritz Hansen extendable dining room table and original Eames chairs seat 10 comfortably. A staircase leads to the upper floors. There is ample room for coats, shoes, boots, prams etc underneath the stairs.

The dining room leads to an open plan whitewashed kitchen/breakfast area with an ancient flagstone floor. The modern kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, gas cooker/electric oven and opens onto a breakfast/study space under a modern glass roof. This space is furnished with original Ercol table and four original Ercol chairs.

From the breakfast area, there are two steps up to the living room, with a vaulted brick ceiling, lime washed stone walls and timber floor. This room has an Edwardian poker table, B&B Italia sofa and TV, and steps up to a contemporary garden room/snug with American oak floorboards, wood burner, sofa/double sofa bed games cupboard and concertina French windows that can be fully opened so that this room flows seamlessly into the outdoor space.

The living room and garden room can be separated by heavy curtains to create super cosy spaces in winter, or to provide privacy when the sofa bed is in use.

First floor
The first floor has a small double bedroom with an Art Deco tiled fireplace and a window overlooking the High Street and a contemporary double bedroom overlooking the garden. There are two bathrooms: one with a bath and one with a shower.

Second floor
The top floor has two large bedrooms: one with a king sized bed and rooftop views, and one with twin beds and views of the High Street.

There is a utility room with washing machine, sink and WC between the first and second floors.

Outdoors
The garden room opens onto a brick patio and brick terraces/steps leading up to an outdoor dining area with built in barbecue and food preparation area with natural slate worktops. There is a shepherds hut on site also that can be rented separately if more accommodation is required.

The yurt is serviced by a converted horse box with a small basic kitchen and separate composting loo, standalone shower and basin. The Yurt and horse box are all off grid, being powered by solar and and gas bottle for water heating. The kitchen has a oven/hob, a kettle and basic equipment for snack making.

The yurt has the sole use of a wood fired Luvtub. Perfect for star grazing and relaxing

You can be happy and feel safe not sharing facilities.

This yurt sleeps 2, in a king size double bed and a day bed for relaxing.

Linen and towels are all included to make your stay more enjoyable.

We had a brilliant stay. The yurt was spacious and cosy with a wood burning stove and we loved it. The amenities were excellent and during the present times, having them to ourselves was a real bonus. We had a great breakfast in the cafe and enjoyed buying supplies at the farm shop. Liked · The Yurt was in a fantastic location to visit Stonehenge, Longleat Safari and the Jurassic Coastline. It has a lovely little bathroom and kitchen, so a very posh glamping experience. I took my 13 year old daughter for some quality time together and the Yurt gave us exactly that with its beautiful views and the owners sheep to keep us entertained. There is a great restaurant and shop on site. The owners are wonderful, nothing to much trouble. The Yurt is safe and secure with its own fenced area so little ones would have a great time too.

The house dates back to 1800 and has become a cosy bolt hole to escape to. It sits at one end of the High Street with all it has to offer, from the Michelin starred Osip restaurant just around the corner to the world renowned Hauser & Wirth art gallery 10 mins walk away.

The house sleeps 5: on the first floor is a double bedroom next to the bathroom with walk in shower. The top level is taken up with a large bedroom with a double and single bed.

This boutique style town house is conveniently located in the centre of Bruton, overlooking the 14th century St Mary’s church and the stone bridge straddling the River Brue. It’s a one-minute stroll to the High Street with the Michelin starred Osip restaurant a stones throw away.

The ground floor consists of the living room, dining table and kitchen with an open plan feel and terracotta tiled floor. There is central heating throughout and an electric fire in the living room.

These stylish woodland retreats are large family homes and are perfect for group trips. In this listing you will see several homes. Each has its own merits and unique. Apple Tree House is incredibly spacious with accommodation that has been thoughtfully laid out, so even a large group will feel at home and everyone will have space to relax.

The house is great for entertaining with tables both inside and out. Weber BBQ and Ooni pizza oven are also outside for alfresco cooking. The kitchen is very well equipped, including a Sage bean-to-cup espresso machine for that essential morning Flat White.

The gardens are of particular note, as they cover an acre and are wonderfully planted, with plum, pear and apple trees. Crossing the garden is a small stream with a bridge, which leads to a large lawned area. Here you will find a 'treeless house' which kids will enjoy playing in, plus the huge oval trampoline. Beyond is a one-hole golf tee and direct access to the fields beyond which have footpaths, where you can explore the woods and the numerous walks that you have on your doorstep in the wonderful Somerset countryside.

The space
Turn off a small country lane, and head down a private drive winding through hay meadows, with sweeping views up to the historic monument of King Alfred's Tower. An elegant Georgian farmhouse awaits you, awash with blossom in Spring, and draped in wisteria and roses in Summer. You are only a few minutes drive from Bruton, but its sophisticated restaurants feel like worlds away. Prepare yourself for complete relaxation. Dark night skies, and not a sound to break the peace except the wood pigeons, the calling of owls at dusk and the burr of an occasional tractor in the fields beyond the house.

The house dates from the middle of the 18th Century, and is both full of character and exceptionally comfortable. It retains many of its original features including the beautiful stone floors and 18th Century shutters, with luxurious bathrooms.

The generous spaces of the house make it perfect for two or three families, who would like a degree of independence.

The dining room has an exceptional 18th Century fireplace.

There is a large playroom, with doors opening onto the garden, with a 42 inch TV.

In the barn across the courtyard from the kitchen is a large sitting room with a ping pong table (which has seen some epic battles), two huge sofas and a drinks fridge - perfect for late night drinks.

Next door is a stunning high ceilinged yoga/gym/office space with an oversized desk, and its own private garden. The croquet set is for your use.

Outside
Stunning, extensive mature organic gardens and orchard, stables, hay meadows, an all weather tennis court, various Yorkstone terraces, BBQ for outdoor lunches, chickens, a large trampoline (see house rules), and a heated outdoor pool with an automated safety cover. And beyond… wild ponds, fields for roaming or pitching a bell tent, and woods over the stream for the kids to explore. This is a truly exceptional location, renowned for its rural seclusion, and surrounded on all sides by large country house estates, the most famous of which is Stourhead. There is extensive parking at the back of the house.

The swimming pool is 11m x 4.5m, and is heated from May through September.

Bruton has an array of fabulous restaurants, including the famous bakery At the Chapel; the acclaimed restaurants at The Newt; the Roth Bar and Grill at Hauser & Wirth; and the Michelin-starred Farm to Table restaurant Osip.

There are miles of footpaths and bridleways on your doorstep at King Alfred's Tower - a beautiful tower in the woods above the famous gardens at the 18th Century Stourhead. - There are certain areas of the grounds which pose a very real danger to children and adults. These are the swimming pool, the stream, the two ponds and the trampoline (which has no safety net). In agreeing to rent the house, you assume all liability on behalf of all the guests on the premises during the duration of your rental, for any accident which may occur as a result of proximity to the swimming pool, the stream, the ponds or the trampoline.
- The cleaner will come in once mid-week for three hours to clean the kitchen and the bathrooms. Bed linen is changed once a week.
- Occupied cottage attached to the yoga room is not included in the rental (occupied by our lovely tenants). It has small windows opening onto the rose garden, screened with bushes. The cottage has no access to the garden or house, and the parking is separate and not visible from the house.
