We dont have much traffic as its a nice quiet street with as much pedestrian traffic as cars ,There are four bedrooms two with queen beds ,one double size bed and two single beds that are the bunks

Coast Nest is pet friendly. We have a fully fenced garden which is well suited to mature and well behaved dogs. The rear covered deck, outdoor shower, dog friendly beaches (check times on signs), ample walking tracks and dog agility park (the Cape Estate) make Cape Paterson a puppy paradise.

Please Note: A two dog (or other pet) limit applies. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture and beds as fur is difficult to remove and some of our guests may have allergies. Additional fees apply if pet fur or odour needs to be removed.

THE LOCAL AREA

There is a lovely oval and kids playground around the corner from Coast Nest. The Bay Beach is about a 5-7 min walk and First Surf 10-15 min walk from Coast Nest. Local shops and cafes are an easy 10 min stroll from our place.

We also have great bird life at Coast Nest, as well as possums, wombats, echidnas and the occasional Koala! Each morning you will be woken (not too early hopefully) by wattlebirds, eastern spine bills and honey eaters. The stars are also amazing at Cape Paterson - make sure you light the fire pit, grab some marshmallows and a glass of wine and enjoy the beautiful night sky!

Be prepared to encounter native wildlife such as kangaroos and echidnas on your walks. he Cape Tavern, the local pub is also a short stroll away as is the Channel Store.

THE LOCATION
Located in the older part of Cape Pat, within easy walking distance (about 300 meters) to a child friendly, Lifesaver patrolled family beach. The beach has a small swimming pool cut out of the rocks and small cove, ideal for supervised swimming.

The local beaches are a great place to fish off the rocks, from the surf beaches or in a boat. Snorkeling & scuba diving is also available in protected waters at the family beach, a free rudimentary, small boat ramp is available nearby.
Close to the beach walking paths or walk along the foreshore on the rocks to First surf beach at low tide checking out the rock pools.
Take a bike path ride along the cycle path along the road to Wonthaggi and then the rail trail bike path to Kilcunda or ride to Inverloch along the scenic coast road.

Local General store and pub are both within easy (8 mins) walking distance.
The First & Second surf beach are a little further, First beach has a newly built surf club house, and the beach is patrolled, in season, and the other beach, facing West, is not. A great place to watch the sun go down from the sand dunes.

Two playgrounds are within easy walking distance.

Just off the upstairs lounge, is a large East facing, sunny private deck, it has ample seating with a pull out glass top extension table. The deck has a view over the front gardens, and screened from the street by trees , sea glimpses through the trees.
Wind out awnings are available for shade on the deck if shade is required.
Outdoor gas BBQ and secondary seating and table located in the small grassed back yard.

The house has a well equipped small kitchen with generous supply of utensils, pots & crockery, but no dishwasher.
Included is a Juro bean to cup coffee maker, NESPRESSO pod Coffee machine with milk frother, toaster, Microwave, snack toaster, electric stove and oven and a family sized fridge.
Complimentary basic spices, tea, sugar, coffee & milk starter pack. Glad wrap, garbage bags & foil is also supplied.

LOCAL AREA:
Cape Paterson is a quiet oasis which enjoys beautiful beaches.
This includes a Surf beach (patrolled on weekends during Summer), a Bay beach which is sheltered and safe for small children. It also has a pool carved into the rock for visitors to enjoy.
Inlet Beach between the two is popular for jumping from the rocky base into the water and for surfers to enter and exit the ocean. It is fabulous for exploring the masses of rock pools which form along this area also.
There are plenty of walking/running/biking tracks along the coastline in town and in surrounding areas.
A playground, cricket pitch and grass oval is situated at the end of our court.

Wonthaggi is the main retail centre for the Bass Coast and is situated only 7kms away and provides all your shopping needs.
Inverloch, another popular beach town can be found only a 10 minute drive around the coastal road from Cape Paterson. It has a range of retail shops and eateries for the visitors to enjoy including the RACV Resort.

DAY TRIPS:
Cape Paterson is situated between 2 of Victoria's most popular Visitor Attractions.
Phillip Island is just a 45 minute drive away. This is home to the evening Penguin Parades as well as the famous Grand Prix racing track. There are many other sights and experiences to be enjoyed for the day visitor.
In the other direction is Wilson's Promontary National Park (1.5hr drive). Famous for it's walks (overnight and shorter day walks) and natural beauty.

Our 2 bedroom property for holiday rental, is situated in the heart of Cape Paterson, in a quiet street surrounded by lovely trees and birdlife within 5 minutes walk to the beach and local shops. 3 streets back from entry to the beach, an ideal location to leave your car in our off street driveway, and walk to the beach. Glimpses of the ocean can be seen in the distance from the front balcony and main bedroom. At night you can hear the waves crashing 500 metres away. The front undercover decking is a lovely spot at night to stargaze. The rear garden is fenced and offers an outdoor shower for your return from the beach. Outdoors enjoy a garden BBQ with outdoor furniture supplied. Parking accommodates 2 cars.

Indoors offers a light open planned area of living, kitchen and dining. The entry consists of a small sunroom getaway, a separate space for reading, watching TV or just relaxing. A reverse cycle heating/air-conditioning system keeps inside comfortable. The living area houses comfortable sofa's, coffee table, Smart TV and Wi-Fi. The kitchen is fully self-contained with all electrical appliances - including an air fryer and coffee pod machine. The six-seater dining table is well suited for the occasional family board game. Bedroom 1 has a Queen Bed (sleeps 2), and wall mounted TV. Bedroom 2 has a bunkbed, with a double at the base and cosy backrest for comfort, whilst the top is a single (sleeps 3). Bedroom 2 can also accommodate your own travel cot.

The best thing you will love about your stay is the casual atmosphere of the place, its location, the cleanliness and the short distance to the beach and café.

Neighbourhood Highlights:
Quite street with a fenced in rear garden, fun for children. Front decking where you will find glimpses of the ocean. It is a short 500 metre walk to the beach, café and Surf Club. The local café and gift shop is a great meeting venue and lovely place to buy gifts and support the locals. Dinner and lunch are only a short stroll away (bookings in advance are advised). Book in for yoga or a massage in the main street, or opt for seasonal yoga on the beach.

Check out the Surf Life Saving Club, with seasonally patrolled beaches. Bay Beach or Surf Beach are both within walking distance! Sitting in the rockpools at Bay Beach is a must, children will love it. The Lifesaving Club seasonally offers coffees and event evenings, where you can view the water from the balcony. Many walking tracks are available for all ages. Enjoy the adjacent Cape View sustainable living precinct with basketball/netball/tennis play areas.

There is a bus service within the street to Wonthaggi- located 10 minutes away. Wonthaggi is a regional shopping precinct, where you can find a hospital with an emergency department should any issues arise.

Located within a short drive on the coastal road to Inverloch, Eagles Nest Rock formations are a must see, where dinosaur bones have previously been found. 12kms of the coastal road offers stops along the way to explore the wonderful scenery where ocean meets landscape.

Stay one week, and do day trips to Phillip Island (50km) or Wilsons Promontory (78Km).

-Waste disposal-Bass Coast Governing rules dictate a green waste bin, recycle bin, general rubbish bin and instructions for guests supplied.

Even better the garage situated at the back of the property is a games room, a pool table and darts are there for your use as well as a seating area where you can listen to good music with a beer in hand. Cape Lucky- A fully renovated house just a short walk from the magnificent beaches of Cape Paterson. Cape Lucky is a great place to unwind. There is an awesome covered private deck - The best place to be after a long day at the beach. The living area has comfortable leather couches and a large 50 inch TV and DVD player, along with a huge range of DVDs to entertain the kids. A split system air conditioner with both heating and cooling, and a wood heater for winter nights. Cape Lucky has a fully functioning
kitchen and appliances including front loader washing machine (unfortunately no room for a dishwasher!) and a coffee machine making this home a truly great place for a holiday. The bathroom is fully renovated and has access to the outside deck. This home is ideally suited for a couple or small family. The house offers 4 generous bedrooms with a variety of beds and living areas (queen beds and bunk beds), with an additional sofa bed downstairs. Enjoy the bottom floor as a place to hang out, or the top floor with a large balcony to relax and take in the views. A backyard lines the side of the house, which is pet friendly and closed off. Cape Paterson provides amazing trails and walks that make it the perfect place for pets!

Amenities include a full-size fridge, a jet spa, WIFI, gas BBQ and off-street parking with a driveway to the side of the house. WE DO NOT PROVIDE LINEN - please bring your own sheets and pillowcases, doonas and pillows are provided. A laundry is available with a washing machine and dryer. This holiday house is managed by The Beach House People and is registered as short stay accommodation under the Bass Coast Shire Council and governed by Local Law 1 Neighbourhood Amenity 2002. We are available by phone and email. Office hours are 9am -5pm for and we regularly check emails and messages after hours.

Full linen is provided as standard - Please bring your own beach/pool towels. Please note that if you are bringing more than 1 pet you must inform us prior to arrival. Pets must stay off furniture and bedding and failure to pick up dog poop from the garden will result in charges. Please ask us for our pet policy.

The key is located at the property in a secure lock box, the code is sent to your email address at 2pm on your day of arrival. All communication is sent via our system and it is important you are checking your spam/junk folder for information and instructions about your booking. Christmas week and January is a 3pm check in only.
