- "We had 11 people, 6 adults, 4 kids ( aged 2.5 - 13) and an infant. Hydrangea house was stocked to provide something for everyone! Tubby time in the BIG deep tub was a favorite after the beach. Location is gorgeous, and close to many different activities. Hydrangea House is the perfect spot to stay with a large group to create wonderful memories. Thank you!" - "Our second stay at Hydrangea House was as satisfying as our first. The VRBO listing is admirably detailed and accurate, but even it does not fully capture the wonderful feeling of the house and the genius of the layout. The open concept of the ground floor, combined with the high ceilings and the second floor gallery, creates a sense both of spaciousness and connectedness that is very relaxing, and is enhanced by the quality and cleanliness of the furnishings. Each of the bedrooms is lovely, and together with the reading/game nooks on both levels there is ample opportunity both to gather and for privacy. And I have never seen a rental with such a great set-up for children, with the two connecting rooms that provide multiple beds- even including two queens who want to sleep near their kids- as well as games, without being crowded. Owner Kevin is a joy to deal with, and Cape Porpoise is a great setting. 5 stars all the way!"

Renovated home with water access and stocked with amenities
House
Kennebunkport, Maine, USA

KPort Concierge is happy to invite you to this one of a kind property. Built in the 1860s, it is full of charm and vintage touches with a cool old barn, lovely marsh views, and tidal access out to the open ocean.
The barn has been converted into a play space for both adults and children alike with a ping pong table and shuffleboard downstairs, and additional sleep space in the form of a long, built-in daybed and a playroom full of activities and games for the kids upstairs. This connects to the old part of the house via a mudroom, where you will find life jackets for everyone in the family and beach gear should water activities be on the agenda.
The old part of the house includes a full bath with a shower, clawfoot tub, a ground floor bedroom with a queen-sized bed, and a custom-built staircase made from salvaged wood from Brooklyn, New York.
Upstairs you will find the “bunk room” with 5 built-in twin beds and a large tv- perfect for movie and sleepover nights- the kids’ #1 request when building the house. There are two additional guest rooms with queen-sized beds and the primary bedroom, boasting soaring, beamed ceilings, a 65” television, and a balcony with the best water views in the house. Restoration Hardware beds and Puffy Cloud mattresses combined with ceiling fans and screened windows for Maine nighttime breezes ensure a pretty perfect night of sleep. An en-suite primary bathroom and a guest bathroom with a shower and clawfoot tub complete the upstairs. This house has a king bed, two queen beds, and eight twin beds.
Downstairs, the heart of the home is the great room extension. This room houses the kitchen, living, and dining areas. This room is made for entertaining and congregating, with an open kitchen with a professional-grade gas range and modern appliances, a salvaged wood Island with seating for 3, and a vintage wood dining table that seats 12.
The living space is decorated in serene neutral tones and includes a 65” inch tv, a gas fireplace for cool nights, and sliding doors out onto the back deck, with views out to the water. Out back, you will find a built-in stone fire pit for s’mores nights and a stone pathway out to the water, where kayaks and paddle boards are available for use. Explore the marsh waterways that weave through the Rachel Carlson Nature Preserve adjacent to the property (excellent for bird watching) or paddle out to the breakers and watch for the big boats heading out.
Aside from having its own village with a gourmet market, a grocery store, retail shops, several delicious dining spots, Cape Porpoise is only a couple minute drive from downtown Dock Square in one direction and a couple of minutes to Goose Rocks Beach in the other direction. - "You won’t regret it." - "The freshly redone property at 41 Mills easily handled our large group of 9 adults and two children, 3 & 5. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The large kitchen & dining area was well appointed and made meals easy for us. Kayaking & paddle boarding right from the backyard was a treat. The game room was perfect for a rainy Saturday. Our expectations were pleasantly exceeded." - "Our family was absolutely thrilled when we arrived to find the property nicer than we could have imagined, even nicer than the VRBO description. The comfort, style, relaxed ambiance and lovely setting were ideal, with a layout that could suit varied groups, including the young children with us, and space and privacy for all. We were already familiar with the area, appreciating the quiet escape from crowds and traffic, yet with lobster pounds, chowder shacks, local grocers and shops close by. We loved the ease of launching kayaks from the back yard for daily paddles and enjoyed short excursions to a choice of beaches, nature preserves and coastal towns. The property was superbly managed, with quick and helpful response to any questions. Our three generations had a wonderful week here and look forward to returning."

Family friendly home close to all Cape Porpoise and Kennebunkport has to offer!
House
Kennebunkport, Maine, USA

23 Ward is located in the fishing village of Cape Porpoise, in the heart of Kennebunkport. We are located within walking distance of a Fish Market, Grocery Store, Gift Store, Gourmet Food Shop, Restaurants and Galleries. We are an 8 minute drive to the beach or a nice 20 minute bike ride.

To learn more about Cape Porpoise, check out :
https://kristynewengland.com/cape-porpoise-kennebunkport-maine/

The house is two-stories with 4 bedrooms and 2 baths on the second floor and 1 bedroom and 1 bath on the first floor. There are hard wood floors throughout and two entrances; one in the front and one in the back. AC in the summer and a gas fireplace for the winter. There is a casual dining table and counter seating off-the kitchen and a more formal dining room that can seat up to 14 people.

The backyard offers a great place for the family and/or kids to relax with a deck, seating, gas fire grill and fire pit. All of our neighbours spray (safely) for Mosquitos, so it's one of the few yards in Cape Porpoise that you can enjoy in the summer evenings.

It is also adjacent to our sister & brother in law's home (also for rent on VRBO #698058), but has frontage on Ward Road which is an extremely quiet street. If you found a rare weekend when both houses were available, you could have quite a compound!

We request stays of no less than one week. We will consider long-term a rental.

We hope you will consider a stay with at 23 Ward!

Kennebunkport, Maine, USA

This is a bright, relaxing, and comfortable home in a great location that was built by the owners with love. This is our primary residence but when renting, you will have the exclusive use of the house. We stay in neighboring property and will be able to assist with any needs and to make sure you have everything necessary for a great vacation.
We are happy to share our wonderful home and land with good people who will respect it. It is a fantastic location in the village of Cape Porpoise which is part of Kennebunkport. This home is unique as it is in the woods, yet a short walk to gorgeous water views and the conveniences of the village. Launch canoes or kayaks launch right across the street!

From the back porch, you will walk through the mudroom to see the big kitchen which is open to the living room and dining area. There is a downstairs master bedroom with master bath. A 1st floor 1/2 bath and laundry room as well. Upstairs leads to an art studio which is a loft style room that's somewhat open to downstairs living room/kitchen but can be used for additional sleeping with queen air mattress in closet. Upstairs you will also find 2 identical bedrooms and a full bath.

It's nice on a hot day to lay in the hammocks under the shade on our back porch. Or soak up the sun on the front patio where you can catch glimmers of the bay through the trees. Take a relaxing hot shower in the open air in our outdoor shower to wash the sand off from the beach. We have chickens but they will not be let out unless guests want them roaming around. You can help yourself to fresh eggs.
If you have children they will enjoy the playhouse with sandbox, little climbing wall and slide. This is also a wonderful place for bike riding as we are off a Dead end road (Langsford Rd.) with beautiful views of the bay, fishing pier, and Goat Island Lighthouse.

Neighbors are visible yet you are surrounded by trees and have privacy. Stroll down the driveway which opens up to Cape Porpoise Harbor. Across the street is a fish house where you can buy fresh tuna (sashimi grade!), or lobsters and clams caught that day, they'll even steam them for you! In minutes you can walk to Bradburys Market in the center of Cape Porpoise and grab some supplies/vacation essentials. You can walk to the Musette for a delicious breakfast (also serves lunch and dinner). Or stroll down beautiful Pier Road, around the head of the cove, to the fishing pier with seafood restaurants. Watch the boats come in with today's catch. This is all in our backyard, no car needed.

However; driving to local beaches is easy with over 5 beaches within 4 miles. Drive or bicycle down scenic ocean avenue past the Bush family compound to Kennebunkport, only 2.5 miles from the house for shopping, restaurants, and many more activities, including whale watches and sailing tours.

We will be more than happy to offer advice on activities in the area and assist with any other needs.

- "I recently had the pleasure of staying at Lindsey’s oceanfront property, and it was nothing short of extraordinary! From the moment we arrived, Lindsey made us feel at home with her warmth, politeness, and thoughtful touches, including stocking the house with treats for my family. The house itself is grand and beautiful, offering a picturesque view of the ocean that took our breath away. It comfortably accommodated my family of 10 plus our dog, providing ample space and amenities for everyone. What made our stay even more special were the sea lions inhabiting a rock off the coast. We were thrilled to watch them with my dad’s drone, adding a unique touch to our vacation. I wholeheartedly recommend Lindsey’s property for anyone looking for a luxurious stay with stunning views and personalized hospitality. Our time there will remain a cherished memory for years to come. Thank you, Lindsey, for an incredible week!"

Lighthouse View Cape Porpoise Cottage
House
Kennebunkport, Maine, USA

This 2000 sq.ft. cottage is part of a 2-unit building. The other half (with separate entrance) is for our own use/guests.

It is an "upside down house," with bedrooms on the 1st floor and living areas upstairs to maximize views from the living area.

On the first floor there are 3 bedrooms, each with their own en-suite full bathroom. Two bedrooms each have king size beds, and one bedroom has 2 twins. The bedrooms are small but efficient. There is also a mudroom with powder room and laundry on this floor.

The 2nd floor is an open floor plan with living room, dining room, fireplace, kitchen, wet bar, and a small outdoor deck.

Enjoy gorgeous views of Cape Porpoise in a brand new, very high-end cottage. Walk to groceries, gourmet food and restaurants, or take a 5 -minute drive to Dock Square and nearby beaches.

Please note the house is not on the water and does not have water access, but does have lovely views over and between the houses in front. The location in relation to the coast can be viewed in the aerial photo.

The houses in the neighborhood are situated very closely together. You will often see (and hear) other residents in their yards or walking on the road. It is a cozy atmosphere with the hustle and bustle of Cape Porpoise Harbor.

The 3rd floor is a TV room with a pullout queen sofa, full bathroom, and small outdoor deck.

The 2nd and 3rd floor both have really lovely views of Cape Porpoise.

Although kids are welcome, we would not call this a very "kid-friendly" home with the 2 decks, new furnishings and no playroom.

Private chef and babysitting recommendations are available.

Guests have a private entrance and access to the whole cottage, which is half of the entire building. The cottage is part of a larger compound of houses owned by the same extended family. You may see us or our guests entering the other side of the building, but the cottage has a completely private entrance and a fenced-in backyard. We live next door some of the time but will leave you to your vacation and give you your privacy unless you need assistance or want to meet.

Relax and enjoy any of the beautiful four seasons of Maine in a very comfortable and well-appointed home. The views are the best from fall to spring when the trees have lost their leaves, but are still great in the summer too.

Guest Reviews:

- "Charming property with water views. Even better in person than it looks in photos. Conveniently located to everything the area has to offer. Quiet neighborhood with kind people. The linens are top notch, the kitchen had fresh apples and there was some cold drinks in the fridge. The water views are awesome and we even saw the northern lights. Host has great communication and I would highly recommend you to stay here! "
