The hotel is also a short walk from some very good restaurants. We liked Chez David's 25 Euro set Cassoulet meal: very filling but they will pack up anything you can't eat. The hotel itself is a little dated but we are not fans of large chain hotels so we liked that. It has a good atmosphere & the cleanliness and service were excellent. At this time of year we needed the room heater which was fine. A ceiling fan for summer initially needs the light on but then pull strings switch it on & off. Reviews here have complained about receptionists: we met 4 & they were all very helpful & charming. The parking seemed secure. No actual closed gate but well off the road. All in all a very pleasant few days. "
