Cable Lake Cottage is located in the Sister Lakes area of Southwest Michigan. It is about 2 hours from Chicago, 45 minutes from South Bend, and less than 3 hours from Detroit.

This charming, fully renovated, waterfront craftsman style cottage features 3+ bedrooms and 2 full baths with private beach and central air-conditioning. Our paddleboats, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, floating swim raft, and sand toys are included. A gorgeous new pier provides ample space for lounging and fishing. Modern floors, updated kitchen and bathrooms, new plumbing/electric/HVAC/water softener/well, and inviting decor will welcome you and give you the perfect luxury lake vacation. The beach was re-sanded in May 2025 and is full of soft, clean sand. A new upper tier beach was built in June 2019 to provide beach space even when water levels are high. Adirondack chairs and a large bench are provided on the beach. The firepit in the sand is a magical place to end the day.

The yard features a large playset with swings for kids and also a Step 2 climber for toddlers. There is over 1200sf of beautiful decking to welcome you comfortably to the outdoors. I have been coming to Sister Lakes for many years.The wonderful experiences have always provided a sense of calm and tranquility. When I leave, I am left with the feeling that I can't wait to get back. I have friends that have vacationed with us for a weekend and stayed for weeks. We have countless memories of family and friends learning to swim, drive a boat, pontoon, or Jet Ski, or playing catch in the water diving for a ball off the raft. Cook on an outside gas grill, Weber charcoal kettle or open fire pit. Fish, float around tied to the raft with a cooler, sit in chairs while in the water and get too much sun! There is not a better place to get together, it just doesn't get any better than this!

The fall brings out natures unbelievable colors. The Lake quiets down compared to the summer and the water becomes a mirror of the colors on the trees. You can smell burning leaves as homeowners prepare for the next season of winter which usually turns into Winter Wonderland. Stoke a fire in the fireplace or fire pit, clear some snow and skate on the Lake. Shoot a puck on the virgin ice and if you miss it, skate across the Lake to retrieve. Ice fish, sled, or snowmobile. We also have a brand new 2021 Avalon Catalina Tritoon available for rent. We match the price from the local Marina because we prefer that you rent our boat rather then bringing in a boat from another Marina. We allowed renters in the past to bring boats but unfortunately our pier was damaged and 3 sections needed to be replaced.

The house had a couple of kayaks for us to use, which was a lot of fun for the family. The house was clean and as per the description. We would stay again, but the glass was a major concern so it's something to consider if one has small children. Overall it was great and we would recommend 100%. The owners are right next door so if anything went wrong, they could be there."

House was clean, in great condition, and was stocked with everything you might need from dishes, cooking items, bedding, kayaks, paddle boards, bug spray, sunscreen, and more! The lake is beautiful and so quiet! No motorized boats on the lake was fabulous! It was so peaceful! We saw some of the other lakes and we’re so happy we were on this one! Great water pressure! There isn’t public access to the lake actually. I wanted to go sit by the lake on a public grassy area and read but all the lakeside is private backyards of residential homes. Did not expect that. But it was quiet and relaxing. People in area are nice and friendly. Everyone I’ve ever met from Michigan have been nice and friendly! I enjoyed my stay. Sister Lake Brewing Company was good!!! "

We are located on Mill Pond in pretty little historic Dowagiac. A local no-wake lake, Mill Pond is a favorite local fishing/swimming hole. Although we are on the inlet side of the lake. You can take the lovely lily pad path to the open water in the summer to enjoy the tranquility. Enjoy fishing from our dock and fully enclosed back yard. We provide a hammock, grill, firepit, and fire table. We also have a paddle boat and paddle board for you to use at your own risk, but you are welcome to bring your own kayak/canoe. The cottage is located on a dead-end road and we really love our neighbors so please be respectful that this is a local area. No loud music, parties, fireworks, or events. We are close to everything the great lakes region has to offer, including wineries, breweries, the great outdoors, dining, and much more. But if you are looking for a quiet little getaway nestled into luxury with our 100% linen sheets, beautiful decor, and custom locally roasted coffee, we might be the place you never leave. They are nearly the same size - Little Crooked is 103 acres, Big Crooked 110 - their shape and the lay of the land leave Big Crooked with nearly twice as much shoreline.

Not only is this home conveniently located to tourist attractions but great restaurants as well. Take an evening stroll to the Sisters Lakes Brewing company of 14 microbrews produced by the owner's family or the Strand Brewery & Grill. Other dining and shopping are in Dowagiac and nearby towns. There are also public parks in the area as well as golf courses, wineries, breweries, theaters, shopping, and the Four Winds Casino in Dowagiac. The resort town of St. Joseph on Lake Michigan is only 20 minutes away. Looking for a little adventure outside of water sports. Check out the snowmobile trail that runs between Sister Lakes and Grand Rapids and a biking trail that runs between Sister Lakes and the airport in Dowagiac. The surrounding countryside is part of the Michigan fruit belt, with wineries and apple, strawberry, peach, and cherry farms with roadside stands or you-pick excursions.

The entire Sister Lake Cottage 3 is for your private use with an easy self-check-in process to accommodate various arrival times. There is a private entrance with your own access code that will function between your check-in and check-out times. Come back after a great day of exploring and enjoy access to a kitchen with a stovetop, toaster oven, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker as well as dishes and utensils. Sleeps 4 comfortably. Please note that the second bed is a pull-out sofa bed. Enjoy relaxing by the waterfront or bring some kayaks or water toys and enjoy full access to the lake. Guests will find the space to be warm, comfortable, and inviting and the hosts to be responsive and diligent to provide an excellent stay for each guest.
