- "The pool was awesome!" - "This hotel lies in the greener outskirt of Essen, ideal for cycling trips or to visit tne Ruhrgebiet without the rush of a city centre. We had a very comfortable stay. There is a lot of eye for detail in this hotel. For example: we had two racebikes with us which we could park securely in a special and fully equipped bikegarage. The breakfast was well organised and the restaurant is a recommendation for lunch and dinner. Last but not least the personnel is really guest focussed. Although the hotel is listed as being close to Gelsenkirchen, it's actually about a 20-minute drive out. Despite this, Recklinghausen itself has much to offer and is wonderfully walkable, with plenty to explore and enjoy. The hotel itself exudes elegance and charm. Our room was impressively spacious, featuring a firm king bed and a bathroom that was spotless and well-maintained. The cleanliness and comfort of the rooms made our stay very pleasant. The staff at Parkhotel Engelsburg were incredibly helpful and attentive, always ready to assist with any needs we had. While there was a bit of noise one evening from patrons returning late, this was likely due to the influx of guests attending the EURO 2024 Football Tournament, and not a regular occurrence. The hotel’s restaurant provided a delightful dining experience, though room service options were somewhat limited. However, this did not detract from the overall quality of our stay. The elegance of Parkhotel Engelsburg is matched by its pricing, offering a luxurious experience that feels worth the cost. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.
