- "The communication with the owner was first class from start to finish. The apartment was small but perfect for our needs. It was well equipped from kitchen to bedrooms and bathroom. It’s was spotlessly clean on arrival. The beds were comfortable, however, a harder pillow would have been appreciated. That said that’s a minor recommendation. We made use of the washer in the basement which was very useful and the owner supplied us with an airer to dry our clothes. Recommendations would be access to some English speaking TV channels, however, we did make good use of the Netflix package during our stay. Air conditioning would have been appreciated, whilst there was a standing fan available, even with all the windows open in the apartment it was still very warm. We were kept awake some nights by noise from people in the next building, however, this is outwith the control of the owner, just something to be aware of. The location was very good, an 8 minute walk from the station and only slightly further to the city centre with bars and restaurants. All in all we enjoyed our stay in this Essen apartment and would definitely recommend it."

The 1-room apartment faces the back to the garden in a little busy side street. It is centrally located near the main train station and easily accessible by public transport (two metro stations in the immediate vicinity).
Folkwang Museum, Aalto Theatre (Opera) and Philharmonie are a few minutes' walk away. The popular district of Rüttenscheid with lots of gastronomy and shops, as well as Grugapark, Messe and Grugahalle are also very close.

The space
The 1-room app for a maximum of 3 people is located in a well-kept apartment building in a quiet one-way street to the garden. From the apartment you have a beautiful view of the garden. The apartment has been repainted and wallpapered after water damage and partly laid new laminate. New mattress 1,60 x 2m for the double bed, new pillows and pull-in blankets. Now there are also the comfortable seat covers for the armchairs. New lamps or lampshades for the floor lamp also provide cozy light in the evening. The terrace door can be tilted to ventilate. On the terrace you can relax in the relaxation chair or take your meals there in good weather. Within walking distance are two metro stations. From the subway station "Philharmonie", you can take the U11 to Messe Essen in 4 minutes. The Bismarckstr. metro station is also in the immediate vicinity (3 min). From there, you can reach the main train station in a few minutes (1 min). Aalto Opera, Philharmonie can be reached on foot in 4 minutes. 10-minute walk to the city with numerous restaurants and shops or to the trendy district "Rüttenscheid" with diverse gastronomy and shopping. Good transport links to the highway. In 50 m there is a parking space where free parking is possible. The apartment is equipped with 50 MB/s high-speed internet (Wi-Fi). The flat-screen TV has an Internet connection and cable TV. There is a phone with which you can call the German landline for free.
The apartment is equipped with sleeping accommodations for 3 people: a studio couch (1 m x 2 m) with high-quality spring mattress (suitable for permanent sleeping) and adjustable headboard. 2 more sleeping places are offered by a foldaway bed (1.60 wide with comfortable mattress topper. New mattress + 7 cm thick topper).
Duvets, bed linen and towels, hair dryer, iron, ironing board and drying rack are provided.
With beautiful lamps and comfortable armchairs with new seat covers, you can make yourself comfortable in the evening. With shutters, the apartment can also be completely darkened during the day for a good night's sleep.
Two people have, if desired, two separate beds available.
In the basement there is a washing machine, tumble dryer and drying rooms. A small pantry conveniently adjoins the kitchen with microwave and coffee maker with dishes, cutlery, etc.

As a guest, all rooms are available. You enter the apartment through a small hallway with kitchenette. From here there is a door to the bathroom.

In the room is a very comfortable bed. Here you can easily watch Netflix and end the evening.

There is enough space at a table for two people for a large breakfast. Kettle, coffee maker and toaster are also available.

We have towels and linens for each guest once for the stay, shampoo and soap, as well as the basic kitchen equipment: salt, pepper, sugar, coffee,tea ,detergent.

In the house there is an elevator that takes you to the floor of the apartment. There is another courtyard where there is space for bicycles, but there is no parking space for car here. You can park this for free on the side of the road, where there is a parking space around the house.

Our 55 m² apartment, which will be completely renovated and equipped to a high standard in 2024, is located in the attic of a quiet apartment building. This is centrally located in the beautiful Südviertel, is within walking distance of the main train station and can be occupied by up to 4 people.

Everything is already available in the apartment, so you can just arrive and feel comfortable. Fast Wi-Fi, a smart TV with USB port and Netflix included!

The new, fully equipped kitchen includes an induction stove, oven, dishwasher and fridge as well as: a fully automatic coffee machine, toaster, kettle, washing machine, dishes, cutlery, pots, all kitchen utensils, glasses and much more. Right in the kitchen is also a cozy sitting area for dining.

In the living area there is a cozy sofa, with a coffee table and a smart TV. Next to it is a work area with desk and storage space. 

In the bedroom, there is a king-size bed with high-quality mattresses and another bed that can be pulled out to a large 1.60 m if necessary, so that two more people can also be accommodated there. Bed linens are also available, of course, and are prepared for our tenants upon arrival.
