The hut was small but big enough for 2, I would think it would be too cramped with anyone else as there isn’t anywhere to store clothing otherwise but was perfect for us. Plenty of food storage with an extra fridge which meant we could store bbq food easily for a relaxing evening on site. Overall a wonderful stay, would definitely return!"

- "The double bed (new?) makes a lot of noise. It is also quite small if you consider the size of the room. Plenty of walking from the house, nearest pub is approx 3 miles walking cross country - will help you build up an appetite! All this and and yet only 10 mins (by car) from Faversham and all it holds (good food, shopping, antiques and many many pubs etc) Had a great time - hope to come back next year."

- "We were a big family group celebrating a milestone birthday, and this was the perfect venue. Although the house could sleep so many, it felt compact and home-like. The arrangement of rooms worked really well, with a small sitting room to retreat to (or crowd in to watch the women's football) and the open plan dining/seating area for communal games and chat. The kitchen was pretty easy to use (just one pan that didn't seem to work on the convection hob!). Beds were super-comfortable, and Nicola was very helpful about linen for the sofabeds. The immediate area is quirky and interesting, and there are lovely walks along the creek or into town. We loved it!"

Enclosed walled terrace overlooking the owners’ grounds, with gas BBQ and garden furniture. A gate leads into the grounds, where guests are welcome to walk but dogs must be kept on lead as there are roaming chickens.

- "Very nice cottage, we had a great stay Some points for the future - may be think about padding the low doorways (entrance, bathroom). How ever many times you are warned or you hit your head, there is always another time (I must have hit my head 4 times, often pretty hard) - secure better the garden perimeter for dogs. They can escape at various holes in the hedge. I would put chicken wire on the hedge exterior. Also the front gate could be repaired"

- "We had a great stay with my small dog Benji very peaceful and relaxing great enclosed field for dog to run around and thank you for the cheese tray great idea one of the best welcoming packets we have had" - "We stayed one week at Plum Pudding Stables with our dog and we enjoyed it very much. Although the house is located near a road, this did not bother us. The location was perfect for trips to Whitstable, Faversham and Canterbury (max 15 min drive). Dinner at The Dove was also very lovely! (5 min walk). There is also a very nice walk in the Blean woods (5 km) that starts near The Dove. Information about the walk can be found on an information board outside The Dove. As the weather was really good (sunny and temperatures of around 25 degrees) we enjoyed the garden a lot: reading a book underneath the beautiful Robinia tree, barbecuing in the porch, breakfast outside with a view to the lovely cottage garden. The fenced orchard was perfect for our beagle to run around and chase rabbits. The kitchen is well equipped (no dishwasher), the bathroom is large and has a nice rain shower. The stairs to the bedroom are smaller and steeper than we are used to, but that is the charm of this lovely cottage. The breakfast box we ordered was filled with excellent products, we enjoyed it very much! The welcome cheese plate was also delicious."

- "This is an amazing place to stay, the host is the most wanderful gentleman you will ever meet. The lodge is clean, spacious and in an excellent location based on a small holding farm. The animals are right next to the lodge giving you all out experience with thhe farm animals. The only down side for us was a week wasn't long enough, it really is one brilliant place to stay. Ian and his family really do out of their way for you to make you welcome and relaxed. Induction hob works with certain pots but there was no frying pan that worked with the hob. 2nd bedroom not suitable for adults. The Grade Two listed former Manor House of Painters which lent its name to our village. Recently teased back to its historic best, showing the original additions of its custodians over its 500 year history. The house has many quirky features that have been left as found, from the nooks, creaks and the crackles in original plaster work. Sometimes used as a film and photographic location furnished with an eclectic array of props and furnishings that set it apart from the usual country house stay. Just along our lane is The Alma , a traditional Kentish ale house, family run and offering great food throughout the year both inside and in the beer garden. The house has a large twelve seater dining table beside the inglenook fire, great for gatherings. Walks are on our doorstep with orchards, open fields and Faversham creekside all easily accessible. The one acre gardens have two firepits stacked with logs and a large BBQ area coals supplied. Faversham a historic medievil town is easly walkable or a ten minute drive through apple orchards lining the roadways.

Dating from the 16th Century, this lovingly converted hay barn, offers 2 bedrooms and 2 bath / shower rooms - sleeping 4 in comfort. Local attractions include Leeds Castle, Canterbury, Whitstable, Chatham Historic Dock Yard, Dickens World and the many gardens and castles of Kent. Day trips to France, Bruges or London are all well within reach.

With its foundations believed to be part of the original 12th-century Inner Gate House of Faversham Abbey, this cottage is steeped in rich history and character.

Inside, you’ll find a warm, inviting space full of charm — original beams, quirky details and cosy corners create a unique atmosphere that’s both historic and homely. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers or small groups looking to reunite for a relaxing retreat.

Step out the door and you’re minutes away from the lively Market Place, with its artisan cafés, friendly pubs, independent restaurants, record shops, book shop and vintage boutique. On Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, the town truly comes alive with its thriving street market — one of the oldest in the country — offering fresh local produce, handmade crafts, antiques and delicious street food.

The space:

Sleeps 6 comfortably
You’ll find three cozy bedrooms: one with a luxurious king-size bed, one with a comfy double and a third with two single beds — great for friends sharing.

Two sparkling clean bathrooms
There’s a stylish shower room and a full bathroom for a leisurely soak after a day of exploring.

Gather around the table
The dining room is perfect for tasty meals or game nights, with enough space to spread out and settle in.

Cook up a storm in the brand new kitchen
Fully equipped with a range cooker, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave — and even a wine fridge to keep your favourite bottle at just the right temperature.

Lounge in comfort
The inviting living room features original beams and a great selection of board games for some old-school fun. Whether you're curling up with a book or enjoying movie night, this is the perfect space to unwind.
Guest access
You will have access to the entire house, although the utility room and one bedroom is locked and private. There are also a few cupboards that are private and are locked in the house - however you have plenty of space everywhere!

As with many beautiful historic homes, the cottage comes with a few quirks — including its original staircase. It’s a little steeper and narrower than modern stairs, with a twist of character (literally!). While this adds to the charm of the property, it may be a bit tricky for guests with limited mobility or very young children.

If you’re unsure whether the stairs will work for your group, feel free to reach out — we’re more than happy to answer any questions.
Other things to note
As this is our family home we kindly ask that guests treat it with the same care and respect they would their own.

To keep things relaxed and neighbourly, we ask that there’s no noise in the garden between 10:30pm and 7am – it’s a peaceful, secluded spot and we’d love to keep it that way.

Just a quick note: the green space directly in front of our house doesn’t belong to us, so please avoid walking across or using it during your stay.

Also, for everyone's comfort, no smoking inside the house.

Parking does requires a parking permit. Don’t worry—we provide daily parking permits for our guests. When booking, just let us know how many cars will be in your group, and we’ll make sure you have enough permits for your stay.

Parking is usually easy to find on the street, and sometimes you’ll even be able to park right in front of the house.
