Located on Holmes Harbor just 12 miles from the Mukilteo/Clinton ferry, this well appointed and charming cottage is comfortable for short or long stays and features beautiful views, a cozy wood burning fireplace, hammock for enjoying the view and napping, easy to use gas firepit on the deck with expansive water and mountain view, nestled between the bluff overlooking the water, our small orchard and peaceful woods.

Reliable, high speed internet with WiFi is included. The cottage is perfect for those who want to vacation while working remotely and need a change of scenery getaway, where they can continue to work virtually, while being surrounded by beautiful views and natures refreshing peace and quiet.

The compact kitchen, although small, has a full size refrigerator with freezer and all cooking implements, pots and pans etc needed to prepare meals. The kitchen is outfitted with an induction cooktop built into the counter, Keurig coffee maker with K-Cup pods included, electric skillet, waffle iron and large toaster oven. During the colder months the old fashioned wood burning cook stove can be used for cooking and makes the cottage really cozy warm, so best only used during winter. In addition there is an outdoor Weber charcoal grill available for BBQ and Roasting any time of the year.

Upon arrival, drive down the wooded lane past the serene pond and lush orchard populated by our friendly geese. Enjoy the sweeping water and mountain views from inside and outside from the full length deck. A privacy fence and "scenic view point" Gazebo for guest use occupy the space between the cottage and the owners home.

One of the highlights of the cottage is the spectacular view from the cozy window seat or comfy queen size bed. The huge picture windows look directly out to the mountains, water, sunset and the bright stars at night. A sun shade on the outside of the bedroom picture window can be pulled down for privacy and for shade to block the hot sun in the afternoons or tone down the morning light if you want to sleep in.

Bring your own smart device for streaming content to the large screen TV in the bedroom via HDMI cable or Google Chromecast once you've logged into the cottage high speed internet WiFi. There's also a DVD and VHS player attached to the TV with a nice selection of movies provided.

Langley, "The Village by the Sea", the entertainment center of South Whidbey is a quick 10 minute drive or the perfect scenic bike ride away! And, the cottage is only 3 miles from Payless Foods, a fabulous full service Grocery store in Freeland, the nearest town, has an excellent selection of fresh seafood, including the best fresh salmon and dungeness crab you can get anywhere.

Expansive newly rebuilt decks look out over the water and at the mountains and the sunset with easy to use gas firepit. A hammock is hung between the trees with gorgeous water and mountain view.

He also thoughtfully and without me requesting brought over a turkey cooker which could be attached to the gas grill to boil the crabs in. The house had comfy couches, an amazing view, very comfortable beds (felt like tempurpedics) and tasteful decor. The kitchen truly was well stocked and we had everything we needed. The photos accurately depict the house which was clean and comfortable. The view was wonderful and we lucked out with a super sunny weekend in October! The 600-square foot apartment sleeps 3 in 2 bedrooms with a queen and a twin. The queen bedroom is open to the living room; the twin bed is in an enclosed room off the queen bed area.

The kitchenette provides a 2-burner stove, fridge, microwave, toaster, toaster-oven, Foreman grill, air fryer and coffee-maker, as well as a small outdoor propane grill. Come stay at our cozy guest cottage!! You will have a refreshing view of Holmes Harbor and are only a few minutes from the Harbor itself, to the NE, or 1/2 mile from Mutiny Bay Beach to the W, with a fabulous sandy beach and a gorgeous west side view of the Olympics and sunsets. So many great beaches and views and hiking places on Whidbey and many nearby!
Enjoy 1/2 dozen fresh eggs from our chickens located near the cottage. You can sign up to use our 2 seater kayak. Great central location to explore Whidbey, close to several fabulous restaurants and our local grocery store. Or do your own barbeque on the front deck as you view Holmes Harbor and enjoy the soft afternoon wind we typically have here.

This charming vacation cabin nestled among tall pines and cedars features stunning western views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. It includes community beach access to a beautiful sandy beach on Mutiny Bay, considered the "Gold Coast" of Whidbey Island. A community tennis/pickle ball court and outdoor swimming pool (in season) are also available.
The cabin has an open layout that includes a living room, dining area, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom with a queen bed on the first floor and a large loft with 3 twin beds we refer to as the "three little bears" room. A spacious deck on the front of the cabin is perfect for relaxing and taking in the view and the large private yard provides a great play area fork kids to enjoy.

This is such a rare combination of saltwater fun and pool play. It was a kid paradise. The pool has no lifeguard, but there is a baby pool shallow section that is great for non-swimmer toddlers/babies. On our last walk from the beach, an actual old-fashioned ice cream truck drove by--again, it felt storybook and perfect. On the practical side, there is a washer and dryer in the cabin--this was helpful with messy kid play clothes. We brought a wagon to pack towels and sand toys for the beach (and cart tired kids back to the cabin). This is a magical cabin, in a magical bay, on a magical island, in the magical pnw. We made memories we will recall for a lifetime...and took a zillion pictures to sort through when our kids are older."

When you're not sampling the local cuisine, enjoy a home cooked meal in the well appointed kitchen. Perhaps take a soak in the hot tub while enjoying a tasty beverage, or build a fire and roast mallows under the stars.

The floor plan is open concept with the kitchen, dining area, and living room creating a large common area to gather. There is a hallway off the living room that leads to two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a nook with twin beds. The master bedroom also has a 2nd bathroom attached. There are two desks and monitors to get work done if needed. Children are included in the guest count due to septic limitations. (NOTE: Bed photos are currently being updated to reflect proper sizing)

Everything is within walking distance. The house sits a block from the grocery store, pharmacy, hardware store, coffee shop, and is within blocks of restaurants, and shopping.

The house is located in downtown Freeland, ~15 minutes from Langley, and ~25 minutes from Coupeville. Pets will incur a $50 charge per pet for extra cleaning. If you'd like to use the hot tub there is also a $50 fee for extra cleaning. Please let us know when booking if you are bringing pets or using the hot tub and complete the fee request within 48 hours of booking.

The house is centrally located near the city center and has many amenities within a few blocks including restaurants, grocery stores, a winery, brewery, and beach. Guests must abide by quiet hours from 9pm-8am while outside. NO LOUD EVENTS OR PARTIES OF ANY KIND. No shoes in the house.

- "Easy access to several beaches, just a short drive to Langley and across the parking lot from the shopping center of Freeland! Very comfortable cottage with tons of natural light and the most comfortable beds you'll find. Well appointed bedding with a very functional kitchen. The gas fireplace took the chill off after a walk to the store. We really enjoyed the hot tub late in the evening too! You won't go wrong booking here!" - "The pictures online do not do this house justice. It is a beautiful quiet space and spotless with great light. The location was fantastic for the restless younger set who enjoyed walking the dog to the tasting room, brewery and coffee kiosk while the seniors caught up on rest before evening activities! The dog enjoyed the rabbits and deer in the yard. We all enjoyed the hot tub. The kitchen cookware/utensils were well rounded. It is a great place to stay and centrally located for the activities we planned on Whidbey. I might be going back with different guests soon! Thanks."

This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.

Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time here. The condos are older but very well maintained and very clean. Our unit had been remodeled fairly recently, very clean fridge, oven, dishwasher, carpet. The fire alarm is a bit sensitive, it went off every time we opened the oven (I think from the heat because nothing was burning or smoking) unless we also had the door open. I'd rather have it be over sensitive than not working though. The whole complex was very quiet. We saw deer, rabbits, and birds right outside daily. They were re-roofing but we appreciated that they did not start early in the morning and were pretty quiet. Unfortunately, the pool was closed (I think due to the roofing). This is one of the main reasons I booked this vacation rental. The location is really great though, very close to Freeland for groceries but quiet and lovely private beach area. We visited Langley, Clinton, Greenbank Farm, and many state/local parks that were all a close drive. Our unit was farthest from the beach, with just a peak at the water but the access to the beach from the complex is really great. Beautiful sandy beach just a paved walkway and then maybe four steps down. We felt very safe here too (two women and two children). One thing to mention that I didn't realize when booking, is that the (ground floor) unit is accessed by a fairly long and step staircase. It was a bit challenging packing down all of our stuff, not bad, but if you had mobility issues, it might be not be great. We parked around the back to load up when we left and it was much easier (slight sloping paved walkway from back door to car)! We would definitely stay here again."
