Thank you for your interest in a reservation at Sunset Beach Cottage on Whidbey Island. I’d like to introduce you to my beach side vacation rentals. I know you will be pleased with a stay here.

This is a wonderful time of year to be on the Island, and the beach with its spectacular views will be beckoning you outside from your doorstep. I love to walk out at low tide, looking for sand dollars and seashells, the solitude broken only by the cry of Blue Heron and our local eagles. Our low tides can go ¼ mile out and yet the sand is very firm for beach combing. There are rubber boots in the closet for guests to use, but you may wish to bring your own foul weather gear for your comfort.

The accommodations are in a beautifully remodeled two-bedroom guest cottage, with a master bedroom with a king-size bed, a couch that makes out into a queen bed, and a small bedroom with a twin bed with a trundle. If you or anyone you know will be visiting this season, please keep in mind this relaxed and comfortable “spare room” we have here.

For your comfort, there is digital smart TV and a full kitchen. Peruse through our small library and take a book home with you if you can’t put it down. Enjoy our house games and puzzles. The cottage sleeps up to 6 people.

Once you are settled in, the nightly sunset views of Admiralty Inlet, the Olympic Mountain Range, and the shipping lanes of Puget Sound from the living room/kitchen or the master bedroom, are nothing less than spectacular. You or your guests can spend time enjoying the natural beauty around you, walking, bird watching, biking, boating, and more. If you are so inclined, you can take advantage of the sophisticated and exciting artistic life of Whidbey Island. Langley, home of the renowned Whidbey Island Center for the Arts, the Clyde Movie Theater, and several regionally known restaurants, shops and galleries is a 10-minute drive away. Hike north or south from your doorstep. Enjoy South Whidbey’s many alluring hikes including giant Glacial erratic (Waterman Rock) in Saratoga Woods, South Whidbey Community Park Trails, The Whidbey Institute trails, South Whidbey State Park, and many more. * Pets have a $100 pet fee plus $40/night per pet if you are staying more than 2 nights or have more than one pet.

Welcome to The Hidden Haven! Our fabulous 2 Bed/2 Bath A-Frame retreat sleeps 4 comfortably. It is the perfect place to unwind! Stocked KITCHEN w/ breakfast counter for 2. Open to the living/dining area so you will never feel like you're away from everyone when you're cooking. DINING area seats 4 (can seat up to 8 w/advance notice.) Tablecloths, wine glasses, candles, etc. to set a nice table. LIVING area w/wood burning stove that makes it super cozy. It's a great place to hang out. QUEEN BEDROOM/LOFT w/quality linens and it's own small bathroom. BUNK BEDROOM on main floor with nearby downstairs bathroom that just underwent a major remodel and is gorgeous. DECK w/outdoor dining space for 8 when the weather allows and a year-round BBQ. This home is all DIY and has had a lot of love put into it. We love it there and love to share it!

The HIDDEN HAVEN makes for a wonderful retreat and is constantly undergoing upgrades and improvements! Cork flooring and a gorgeous new bathroom are two recent upgrades that we love.

The KITCHEN underwent a complete remodel in the summer of 2016. Owned by someone who loves to cook, you will find it is fully stocked with everything you need to make and serve a delicious meal. The kitchen is open to the living and dining areas so you will never feel like you're stuck cooking while everyone else is having fun. The breakfast bar seats two.

The DINING area is set for four, but (with advance notice) can accommodate your dinner guests with an extension that allows seating for up to eight. Placemats and tablecloths are available for your use and there are plenty of dishes, silverware, wine glasses, and candles to set a gorgeous table.

The LIVING ROOM has plenty of seating, warm lighting, and fuzzy throws. It's a great place to gather. The wood stove keeps it cozy even on the coldest of nights. Firewood is available for your use. Please note: there is no TV, but there are games, books, bluetooth speaker, etc. to keep you entertained (and high speed wi-fi if you need to work or stream a good movie!)

The MASTER BEDROOM is in the loft. The views from the bed make you feel like you're waking up in a tree house. While open to the living room below, it provides quite a bit of privacy due to the structural design. It has a Queen-sized bed with good linens that will provide a super night of rest. Drawer storage and space to hang your clothes is abundant. The loft is served by it's own small bathroom w/shower.

The DOWNSTAIRS BEDROOM contains Twin L-shaped bunk-beds with good linens and sleeps two very comfortably. Beach chairs/towels, extra duvets, games, kids books, Lego and room for your things can be found in the large closet. Down the same hallway on the ground level, you will find the larger bathroom that was just remodeled with a spa style shower.

The DECK is a great place to hang out when the sun is shining. It's the perfect spot to relax while you enjoy your morning tea/coffee. The patio table can seat up to eight when the weather is right for a meal outdoors. The BBQ is available for use year round. Deer frequent the yard which feels worlds away from the rest of the world because the yard is surrounded by trees. Blackberries can often be found ready for picking all along the far side of the driveway.

The LOCATION is a 10-15 minute drive from the Clinton Ferry, 15-20 minutes to Downtown Langley (the Whidbey Transit bus stops in front of the house), just 1.5 miles to Maxwelton Beach, and generally no more than 20 minutes to nearly everything South Whidbey has to offer.

The PROPERTY is a 7,00 square foot lot with a stand alone A-frame cabin home (in a neighborhood of homes occupied mostly by full-time residents) and you will have it all to yourself during your stay. It's enclosed by a wall of trees and feels very private even though there are adjacent lots of similar size, most with homes occupied by permanent residents.

Welcome to peaceful Birdsong Retreat where the quiet serenity is accompanied with birdsong. This spacious, newly built home sits in a sunny yard on 5 acres of beautiful Cedar trees that guests are welcome to enjoy walking in. It is located at the end of a quiet road, very private, yet close to town and amenities - only 10 minutes from the car ferry, and less than 2 miles to the beach and a view of the Olympic Mountains.
The house is fully furnished for guests comfort. You will find all you need in the well-appointed kitchen, including spices. All luxurious linens are provided, including beach towels. Internet, WiFi, and cable TV with flat screen and Blu-Ray, as well as stream Netflix are provided. Listen to your favorite music on the I-Doc station or Pandora. Books, board and yard games are provided.
This is a restful place where you can rejuvenate, winter or summer. Rock on the porch or lay back in one of the recliners, curl up with a book in this cozy, quiet haven. The number of birds and other wildlife here are amazing; we've seen great horned owls, bald eagles, and many song birds. It's great for individuals and families. If you wish to venture beyond this property, there is plenty of natural beauty and points of interest, golf courses, hiking trails, parks, as well as quaint towns and shops nearby on this vacation destination Island. - "We loved our stay! We were visiting for a wedding, about 6 miles away. The privacy in this place is amazing. Gorgeous lot, surrounded in trees and completely silent. We were wondering where the crickets and frogs were! We live in a peaceful place, and this place is 100 times more quiet. The couch was sp comfortable, and the kitchen was very well stocked. They had everything we could possibly use. We didn't see anything aboout the check out requirements, so I'm guessing they are pretty simple. They have a waffle iron and any other dishware, condiments, spices etc that you may need. Woould definitely stay again."

Whidbey's most desired location, Sunlight Beach, on gorgeous Useless Bay. Enjoy eagle and birdwatching, clamming and crabbing in front of your Beachhouse. With the the majestic Olympic Mountain Range in the background the view from the cabin looks across the bay towards Double Bluff on Whidbey Island to the right and Foulweather Bluff on the northern tip of the Kitsap. To the far left your view is looking south down the center of Puget Sound and on a clear day you can see all the way to the skyscrapers in Downtown Seattle. In the foreground you will see a tidal lagoon that is full at high tide when the water comes right up next to the fire pit in the front yard. At low tide the lagoon empties completely and beyond the sand bar enclosing the lagoon are miles of sandy tide flats for hours of sandy beach combing. Newly renovated with an accessible bedroom, open kitchen, and great room. The cabin is a wonderful place to get away from crowds and to enjoy nature.

It’s a fabulous place for large and small children! Romantic escape for couples. Ideal retreat for artists and writers.

This beach cabin was built by our Norwegian uncle, Hans, a fisherman and logger. He built the cabin as his home in the 1930s. It has been renovated with accessibility in mind since we have had multiple family members using wheelchairs and walkers over the years. The large open living, kitchen, and dining space has big picture windows so you don’t miss a thing. A comfy lift chair adds to the amenities. The kitchen is fully equipped. The dining corner has room for six (but don’t tell anyone we have crowded 8 around it for crab feasts). The deck off the front provides a level entrance to the cabin as well as a grill and chairs to chill on or sunbathe in. The cabin has housed many great family reunions.

Over the past few years we have made some exciting changes to our cabin. Our goal is a truly accessible beach cabin. The main bedroom with large windows overlooking the bay has doubled in size and has room for a power wheelchair on all sides of the queen bed. It has a 2nd bathroom with a 36" wide door and step in shower. The cabin has a level entrance, a light-filled great room, and a kitchen all designed with a wheelchair in mind. The original bathroom off the main living area is only partially accessible. Please feel free to reach out with questions.

A walkway from the bulkhead across to the nearest spit provides easy access to the tidal flats of Useless Bay. It is also a fun place to see small crabs and fish for them with a hotdog baited pole - a time honored tradition for kids!

Visit the nearby village of Langley, just 10 minutes away. Perched on a bluff overlooking Saratoga Passage, Langley offers plenty of restaurants antique stores and art galleries. Historic Coupeville is just a half hour up the island.

Welcome to our Whidbey Island waterfront cabin! Located on Columbia Beach Drive only ¾ mile south of the Clinton ferry terminal, with the ability to walk to the ferry in just minutes. Its convenient location allows you to explore all the island's activities and attractions nearby. It's a craftsman style bungalow right on the beach with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom and it sleeps 5 comfortably. The master bedroom has a queen bed with a spectacular view of the waterfront when you wake up. The second bedroom has full bed below with a twin bunk overhead. Both bedrooms includes dressers and closets with ample storage so you can settle in nicely. The living room is equipped with a new TV and an amazing 180 degree view of Puget Sound, the Cascade mountains with ferries and ships going by. Build a fire outside at sunset, dig clams at low tide, swim and take walks along the beachfront or just chill and relax on your getaway!
It is an easy commute to Mukilteo to ride a bus to Everett Boeing, or catch the bus or train to downtown Seattle. Perfect for those that need to commute to the mainland, while the family explores Whidbey Island waiting for their return. We hope you decide to stay with us soon. The 2nd bedroom's bed was uncomfortable and not study enough for adults. The room is fine for kids just not adults. The frame squeaked and moved every time you made the slightest movement. In addition, the mattress slopped inward. Purchasing a different bedframe and mattress would make it more of a room for adults as well. Also, the neighborhood is great and very quiet! Thanks for a wonderful stay!"

Our 2 story, no bank beachfront home sits on the north end of Maxwelton Beach. You won't find a nicer view of the water, sunsets or mountains on Whidbey Island.

This is a perfect getaway for 2 couples or a small family. We have 2 bedrooms that each have a queen bed and also 2 twin mattresses that you are welcome to use for children. The master suite on the top floor has a private bath with a shower/tub combo and a balcony that overlooks the water, mountains and incredible sunsets. On the main floor the 2nd bedroom, also with a queen bed, has sliding doors out to the beach side deck.

We have a hot tub on the deck for you to enjoy. We also have kayaks available for our guest use (must sign waiver prior to arrival in order to use).

The dishwasher needs some repair, and the kitchen and bath fixtures are well-worn and could use some updating. The long kyack is ready to be replaced (slow leak) but kyaks were fun to use. Beach glass, shells, and incredibly abundant sealife on the tide flats made for hours of leisurely beachcombing. We'll be back!"

Take a walk on Maxwelton Beach (just a short drive away), or from late April to October, enjoy the Bayview farmers market. There are several hiking trails for any level of adventurer at the Trillium Community Forest, and when you're done, enjoy some shopping in Langley or touring the local vineyards.

When you wrap up the day, come home to a full kitchen to prepare your favorite meals using the appliances available, or throw something on the grill and dine alfresco out on the patio area. This cabin boasts many incredible amenities for your convenience. Unwind on the couch with a good book as you enjoy this haven away from the troubles of life, and make some memories to last a lifetime. While you are out grab a bottle of your favorite wines and return to the Cottage for dinner, a cozy fire, and a movie. With two TVs there are different options for differing preferences in entertainment.

The one-bedroom downstairs and spacious loft with 3 additional beds upstairs offers versatile sleeping options. Each room has blackout curtains and sound machines to allow restful sleep for each guest. With high-speed internet and desk in the loft, you can work by day, and take a sunset stroll on the beach in the evening. Sip wine from the Adirondack chairs as you watch the sunset or peer over a good book at your view of the water from the loft. The fenced front yard allows room to play and relax. We are located in a quiet community just above Sunlight Beach on Useless Bay. It is just a short stroll (1/3 mile) to the community beach & picnic area and a mile or so to Bayview, heart of the Island's south end.

Location/Map Note: We are located on the west side of Bayview Road which is on the beach side. Some map programs incorrectly place the cottage on the other side of Bayview road. You do not have to walk across Bayview Road to get to the beach & community picnic area. Please just ask if you have any questions.

Witch normally the closest we get is Coupeville but that's about 45 mins away. So we got tired of that an tried this out for our first vacation home. It was amazing it's very cute all the stuff in the kitchen worked very well. they provided lots of pots an pans an silverware an so on cups wine glasses etc etc an the beds were pretty comfy too. All around best place we've stayed and I highly recommend it."

This two-story cottage is wonderfully secluded in the outskirts of Clinton, about five miles from town and the ferry terminal. It's a beautiful setting for staying in and relaxing, yet you'll also be close to many wonders of Whidbey. Explore picturesque downtown Langley (five miles), Maxwelton Beach’s Dave Mackie County Park (playground, covered picnicking, swimming, and Olympic Mountain views), or take in the view at Double Bluff Beach (nine miles) where long beach hikes can be enjoyed. Also, consider a morning hike at South Whidbey State Park where beach access or old-growth “Classic U” trails are available (14 miles).

Covered porches adorn both sides of the cottage, providing the perfect spot to sip your morning coffee and watch your kids play in the wildflower lawn. The interior is a showcase of timber craftsmanship, from the charming built-ins to the exposed rafters. Neighborhood overview
Our neighborhood, Olympic Marine View, is a quiet, private, family and pet oriented community. Respect for them is our primary focus. Guests who are a good fit for Sunlight SeaScape will deeply enjoy and appreciate their stay. Their characteristics include respect for the neighbors, watchful of traffic, slow driving, their parking, attendance to quiet hours after 10:00 pm, an awareness of smoke and burn bans, appropriate garbage and recycle disposal, their respectful use of furniture and furnishing including bedding and linens and towels and the respectful and appropriate use of our community beach and other accesses along Sunlight Beach. Guests will call before their arrival for details regarding the beach access.

Getting around
Whidbey Island is accessible via the Mukilteo ferry near Seattle and north via the Deception Pass bridge. There is free bus service around the island. There are rental cars and cab service, also. Whidbey Island's friendliness, commitment to community and healthy lifestyle is a fully wonderful experience.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.
