We wished we would have stayed longer, and will definitely be back. Even the neighbors we met while walking the dog were super nice. Our lake is very shallow and great for younger kids to splash around in but if you're looking for deeper waters to swim in, it's best to head over to Bay Tree lake which is a 5 min walk (or 1 min drive) and has a deeper sandy-bottom designated swimming area.

This gated community offers 2 lakes, several boat launches for you to use, canals to explore, tennis courts and a playground.

And with restaurants and shopping centers only a 10-15 minute drive from the house you can still find the convenience you want. Great neighborhood for nature walks and bike rides. This home also provides ample parking.

The area
Located within 2 hours from the research triangle and only an hour from Fayetteville or Willmington, the Bay Tree Lake community is a hidden gem that will allow you to easily escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and find yourself feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

Elizabethtown is a quick 15 min ride away with a quaint downtown, which includes restaurants and shops as well as the staples like WalMart and Food Lion. You can also find many wineries in the area as well. Our favorite is Cape Fear, where you’ll discover the largest collection of celebrity art while savoring your wine and a delicious meal. It’s also great for families as there’s animals to see and a large playground to enjoy.

There’s also ample hiking and exploring to be done at Bay Tree Lake State Park, Bladen Lakes State Forest, or Jones Lake State Park, which are all within a quick 5-15 min drive from the house.

And in the summer time more fun can be found at White Lake Water Park or picking blueberries at one of the nearby farms.

- "It looks small on the outside but there was plenty of room for all 8 of us. My husband and I stayed in a king room upstairs and our boys took the other king room upstairs. That way we for could share the upstairs bathroom with our kids. My sister-in-law and her family took the downstairs. Tonya provided so many things! Towels, sheets, toilet paper, dish detergent, laundry detergent, some little check in snacks and drinks and so many little things that you might’ve forgotten. The lake is a quick little walk away. There was even a wagon to help take things down to the lake. The pier is large and is shared with 7 other houses. There was only one day that we seen anyone else on the pier. It was a great little trip! We would stay again. "

- "Beautiful!" - "This was our 2nd time staying at this home and it is a great place to stay for summer fun. Shallow lake is perfect for small children at the beach. The boat dock is great for bringing a boat with you however, the boat lift needs to be repaired. A few small maintenance items need attention but over-all the house met all of our needs. It was nice to see the new tennis court improvements that is ready for tennis and pickleball."

This lake front property has unobstructed lake views with a spectacular 19’x22’ screened porch that includes a queen size Restoration Hardware daybed for ultimate relaxation and an outdoor TV and fire table. The deck includes a grill, outdoor dining, and s’mores fire pit. The home is located on a very quiet, family-friendly street with lots of yard to play in, a covered shelter for dining closer to the water, and a private street pier shared by only 7 homes total. My home comes with a dockie water mat for kids to run and play on in the water, a sand beach area, several floats, and a boat buoy provided if you would like to bring your boat or jet ski! There is 1 kayak on site for use, TVs in each room, comfortable linens and beds, and a Mrs. Pacman arcade cocktail table with 12+ games and some board games in case of a rain shower. There is a peloton bike in the master bedroom. You won't ever want to leave! Sorry, no pets and no exceptions. Parking for 4 cars maximum with a 10 person maximum including children at one time per HOA rules and quiet hours from 10pm-8am. Please keep alcohol to a minimum and only at the home and not the public areas. No smoking inside or outside the home or on the street, and no pets of any kind allowed. Responsible renting only with no parties or loud groups allowed. Hot tub is not in service. Summer 2025 rentals require a 5 night rental minimum.

Enjoy a cozy stay at our luxury lakefront log cabin! You’ll have lake access with three kayaks and a paddle boat in the backyard. Stand up paddle board (hard plastic) as of 8/1/22. Be aware that with low water levels this year floating and boating on the lake are best, there is significant muck which makes swimming not a good option. There is a lovely swimming beach with white sand just a five minute walk or one minute bike ride from the house. Sit around the outdoor firepit or enjoy an indoor fire in stone fireplace. Four beds, four baths, great communal central space with gas stove and new fridge. In kitchen is a great coffee area with keurig, tea, and hot cocoa. Kitchen is stocked with pantry essentials and basic cookware, bakeware, and tableware. Master bedroom has its own screened porch with seating and fireplace. There is also a great screened porch off the kitchen for a peaceful breakfast or coffee. Gas powered grill on back deck with lots of seating. Front porch has log cabin style rockers and swing. Enjoy a get away from the city drinking coffee on the back deck with a view of sunrise and sunset. Sit on the beautiful pier and enjoy a picnic on the picnic table or do some yoga on your retreat!

Keep in mind that the cabin is in a private gated community, and ONLY ONE gate pass is provided. No loud parties and no use of private pool or gym.

WiFi is available on site and there are televisions in master bedroom, living room, and downstairs pool table room. It is recommended that you bring your own Amazon fire stick, Roku, etc.

In addition to four spacious bedrooms and bathrooms our house is well set up for families with a small crib, pack n play, high chair, booster seat, bouncer, and books/toys for small children. Bedroom four has a twin bunk bed which is only for use of children ten and under. We also have some floats, board games, and puzzles for families. There is also a nice community playground and a large white sand beach within walking distance. Bring bikes to enjoy in our beautiful flat neighborhood with very little traffic.

We are triathletes ourselves and this is a multi sport paradise! You can swim from the backyard as well as access great running and biking areas. The house is close to White Lake and Elizabethtown. Grocery stores and restaurants about 15 mins away in Elizabethtown as well as beautiful Jones Lake State Park for swimming boating and hiking.

Wilmington beaches are about an hour away and Myrtle Beach is an easy day trip.

Please be aware that we charge extra $50 per night for more than six guests a night due to additional cleaning and laundering.

Have fun with the whole family at this stylish Lake Cottage! We have a lovely modern home at White Lake that accommodates 8 guests comfortably. Our home sits on a private street just a few houses down from the lake. We share 2 private/community piers and a small beach which is great for sunbathing, swimming and playing!

The space
Our Cottage is very spacious ! The den is surrounded with large wrap around windows and provides plenty of light. The Master Bedroom and bath are located on the main floor and there are two more bedrooms on the top level of our 3 story home. We have a very comfortable screened in porch and a lovely wrap around open porch with comfortable loungers for sunbathing.

Guest access
Bluewater Cottage has a carport that accomodates 3-4 cars. Our home is a very short walk (about 5 houses ) down the street to the beautiful White Lake where we have not 1 but 2 private/community piers for your enjoyment!

Would recommend more towels and maybe trash bags but everything else was good!" - "There are always two things you can never tell about a property until you get there. And that is: how comfortable the beds are, and is the property properly temperature controlled. I’m happy to report that this place has both a comfortable king master bed, and cool comfortable atmosphere; even in a triple-digit heat wave! We cooked (or grilled) dinner at the house every night and had no problems with needing equipment or utensils. The house is a very acceptable distance from the lake and there is a nice covered area with chairs and a swing. We actually broke down on our way home just outside of town and the owners very graciously offered to let us stay at the property while we waited for our tow. If we ever come back to White Lake we would definitely try to stay here again."

Honeymoon Cottage with a birds eye picturesque view of the lake. Perfect for that getaway. Overlooking the pool and communal pier, their are no better sunsets with a view like this one. Sofa is not a pull out, however we do have a premium air mattress for those with kids or extra family .

Huge front yard with firepit, picnic table, and plenty of space for yard games and the kids to run and play. The whole group will be comfortable in this spacious and unique place.

This is not a party house. Parties are not permitted. We have good neighbors who live here year around and we want to be good neighbors. Quiet hours are observed between 11 pm and 8 am.

There are so many trees when entering the water here that it wasn’t safe for her to get in and walk around towards the shore-but still doesn’t change our opinion of the stay. This house has so much to offer; the view is beautiful, the yard is so spacious, the kids loved having the kayaks & paddle board, they loved the bikes, we all enjoyed the fire pit, and just sitting on the porch. The beds are AMAZING, we all talked about how comfortable they are. Robin was a great communicator and answered all our questions quickly. The house was clean and very well kept. 10/10 recommend staying here-we will definitely be back!"

This is not a party house. Parties are not permitted. We have good neighbors who live here year around and we want to be good neighbors. Quiet hours between 11 pm and 8 am.

There is a private beach area and pier, however this belongs to a private beach club and is not available for public use. PUBLIC LAKE and BEACH ACCESS is at GOLDSTON’s PIER.

- Dogs are allowed upon owner approval. An additional fee will be added per dog, per night will be sent once the pets have been approved by owner and the booking has been finalized. There is a maximum of two dogs allowed. -Dogs must be crated when left alone in our Cottage (crates are not provided). while an animal may be well-behaved at home, a new place can be stressful, which often ends in property damage.

This hidden treasure is a one story brick house at the end of a long private driveway. It offers plenty of parking, 3 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. The living room has a mounted 32" flat screen television with cable and an open view of the lake. The attached garage houses a ping-pong table, extra refrigerator and plush lounging chairs when a break from the sun is needed. The small sunroom leads to a covered brick patio with a picnic table and extends to an uncovered grilling area with a charcoal grill and 2 more picnic tables. Enjoy the ample beach area and newly refurbished private pier during your visit.

- "This was one of the best accomodations I've ever had. Myself and a group of friends booked this property for our White Lake 70.3 triathlon. The house was great for a group as it had a lot of beds and bathrooms. It was in a great location and the view and dock was beautiful. We were able to get in a practice swim the day before right off the dock. The property manager, Susan was the best and checked in on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. I cannot recommend this property enough!"

This lakefront cottage offers a private pier where one is able to enjoy sunrises and sunsets, a beach area to sit and relax with your feet in the cool water while watching the activity on the lake or napping in the hammock and a large screened in porch for gathering with friends. The pier has been extended by almost 100 feet and now has added sunning areas and covered sitting options!
