- "The hotel was big and was only a stop for a night. The lady who checked us in was very nice, but the check in is in their laundry room. This place is generally kept for railroad guys that are required to take a few hours off. Having said that the place doesn't appear to be the cleanest, but I had zero issues. I was by myself in a room so it was plenty sufficient for me and I will also say my favorite part was the shower. It had to be one of the best showers outside of my own at home. Decent enough place to stay for what I did. My friends though had 4 people (2 kids) so the kids had to sleep on the floor because there are no rooms here that have more than one bed---keep that in mind when booking."

There are two cabins located on the hayfield so families or friends that enjoy vacationing together can do so. There is more than plenty of space for parking.
Other things to note
This comfortable retreat is perfect for a couple or a small family. There is a queen bed on the main level and 2 twin floor mattresses' in the loft area. It would be up to the parent to determine if they feel their child could conduct themselves in a manner to maintain safety while sleeping in the loft.
During extreme weather conditions, 4 wheel drive may be neessary to access the property.

Cell service can be spotty in Wyoming. If you have Verizon, your cell will work at the cottage as we have a network extender. If you do not, cell service may be intermittent or non-existent.

A lovely outdoor courtyard with seating is yours to enjoy. The studio on the property houses our gourmet Salt Water Taffy business, so you may see us from time to time as we access this building. Next door to the cottage is our personal home…so if you need anything, just holler. It is important to keep the gate to the deer fence (surrounding the courtyard) closed, or the deer will eat all of my lovely flowers.

If you are here to play…Guernsey State Park is only 2 miles away with a multitude of recreation options in addition to other area attractions such as Register Cliff, the Oregon Trail Ruts, Fort Laramie, and several archeological digs.
If you are here to work…Hartville offers peace and quiet for a good night’s sleep and a comfortable, homelike atmosphere after a hard day’s work.

We didn't have time to take in all the history of the area, but we did have a great steak dinner at the oldest bar in Wyoming (at Miner's and Stockmen's) and stopped in downtown. Very friendly community. I highly recommend staying here."

Just a few miles south of Fort Laramie, the Hayfield cabins are located on a 300 acre working ranch with private access to the little Laramie River. If you like to fish or just enjoy nature it is a .4 mile walk to the river. We are located 2.5 miles west of Fort Laramie Natl. Park. In proximity to several historic sites, museums and recreational lakes. Just a day trip to visit Mt. Rushmore & Crazy Horse.
This is a remote location and low profile vehicles are not recommend for access.
The space
This is a cozy 544 sq feet of comfort, seclusion and views. Although we might be small we provide the essentials. A variety of cooking options. Microwave, airfryer, dual top induction cooker, toaster, coffee maker & hot water kettle.
Meal prep staples such as oils, seasonings, flour, sugar and a few other basics are provided.

Guest access
A map is located in the guest binder that outlines the property boundaries. Guests are allowed to fish along the river bank or take long walks.
There are two cabins located on the hayfield so families or friends that enjoy vacationing together can do so. There is more than plenty of space for parking.
Other things to note
This comfortable retreat is perfect for a couple or a small family. There is a queen bed on the main level and 2 twin floor mattresses' in the loft area. It would be up to the parent to determine if they feel their child could conduct themselves in a manner to maintain safety while sleeping in the loft.
During the extreme weather conditions, 4 wheel drive may be neessary to access the property.

Camper sits on 20 acres less than a mile from the waters edge outside Longs Canyon at Lake Guernsey. Camp on our 20 acres or for an extra fee we can move it to certain approved campsites that you reserve. This can be rented with friends with our other listing 2265609. Check them both out!!

You can rent a propane fire pit for $50 per day. Includes 1 full standard propane tank. Must rent for your entire stay.

We provide two sets of chairs, outdoor rug, everything you need to cook with in the kitchen, cups, plates and utensils. Toilet paper, that is for RV use, dish soap, Shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Bedding for your number of guest listed. and 2 trash bags.

Beach towels can be provided for $10 per towel.

If the water tanks need empty before the end of your stay it will cost $75 per trip to empty tanks.

The 1903 house is retrofitted to sleep 4 adults very comfortably on the upstairs level with a total of 3 bathrooms in the house. There is a King bed in the master bedroom and a Queen bed and crib in the second bedroom with an adjoining bathroom.

In addition to the accommodations in the vintage house, there is a renovated schoolhouse room just outside by the firepit. This very nice nook sleeps 2 adults, with a King size bed and a 1/2 bath with a small sitting porch.

Nearby is an additional firepit and a bunkhouse that can sleep 6 adults. It has 2 sets of Twin over Full Bunkbeds and a large bathroom.

All housing is fully furnished and set up for "housekeeping" with all bed linens, towels, utensils and dishware provided.
