- "The hotel was very comfortable, well maintained and perfect for what I wanted. It is opposite the "DOM" amusement park which was in operation when I was there. It did not disturb me at all and I guess if you like that type of thing this is a very good location to be at. The hotel provides a great breakfast but at a price - 26euro. It does not serve evening meals so you need to buy in or go out. You are well served if you choose to go out locally but Hamburg has a lot of cool places to go in the city centre. On Christmas Eve Day our cruise ship returned to Hamburg at 7:00 am. We returned to The Madison at 9:00am to store our bags until the 3:00pm checkin. They gave us our room immediately upon arriving which was so much appreciated. After attending a concert later in the day, we returned to our room to find a lovely Christmas basket of fruit and candies. We found the restaurant downstairs (Marley’s) very good. And across the street is The Amber Cafe which was great for soups, sandwiches and pastries. This hotel is highly recommended for cost and service."
