The restaurant changed downstairs this time and was open late, so we were able to run downstairs and grab a late night snack. Bring ear plugs for the train if you are a light sleeper. It doesn't bother me, but my husband uses them because he would wake up anytime the train goes by. "

This apartment is a newly renovated workshop at the end of our garage filled with the comfort of home and finished with vintage details from the original owners. You may visit with the farm's miniature livestock: goats and donkeys or wade in the creek or sit outside and look at the stars and listen to the night time noises.

We offer indoor parking for motorcycles. We also offer a 10% military discount and/or also offer a 10% discount for stays 3 nights or longer.

This little home away from home boasts two bedrooms (one upstairs and one downstairs ) as well as a large sitting area in open concept* and bathroom with tub/shower.
For extra sleeping we have 2 twin rollaways and queen inflatable mattress. A dining table along with a mini-fridge/freezer, toaster oven, microwave, gas BBQ grill will allow you to prepare your own meals or heat up take-out as you wish. (Please note that there is not a kitchen not a kitchen sink.) A small selection of board games and reading materials are available. *Please note that open concept in this apartment means that there are no bedroom doors and that the downstairs bedroom is open to the main living area. The bathroom does have a door. There is only a banister on one side of the stairs; the other side is open to the downstairs for about the bottom half of the staircase. Parents of young children or guests who have mobility issues should make a reservation with this in mind.

All of the rental is reserved for guests, as well as most of the yard. The owners' home is next door, so there are parts of the yard that are shared. Guests are welcome to take a walk to the pasture to see the livestock, but for safety reasons, are asked not to cross fences or doors without one of the owners. You are free to visit the livestock at the fence. Your unpaid guests are welcome to come visit at the rental, but our paid guests MUST check with us before taking them elsewhere on the farm.

We are happy to interact with guests as much or as little as you prefer and will ensure your privacy. We'd love to give you a hands-on experience on the farm and want your stay to be a fun adventure. We do want you to know, though that while they are not invasive, you might hear noises from coyotes at night, chickens and roosters, mooing cows, talking goats and donkeys.

Most places only have coffee, so since I don't drink coffee, it was a treat to have the tea and hot chocolate as well. The bed was comfortable. The temperature was great and easy to control. There were board games and some reading material - we played dominos one night. There was a big TV with streaming services. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. She took us on a tour of the farm so we could see the donkeys, goats, and cows. She was very easy to contact and responded to any questions right away. It was pretty close to Hannibal, and we went into town and went on a dinner cruise, saw a Mark Twain play, and hung out in the ice cream parlor. It was very relaxing here. We absolutely loved it and would come back again."

We were displeased - we NEVER rent ground floor. No option was offered. Studio is large, clean former storefront. The only windows face the sidewalk. Very noisy people upstairs. When roof sprung multiple leaks, we discovered moldy ceiling in rear storage area. We immediately called nearby hotel for a room and packed. We reported leaks & Owner made arrangements for crew to fix, but we couldn't stay near mold. When informed we were going, other housing option was offered. Wish that had been the case when we arrived. Only after complaining to hotels.com, did we received a small refund from owner (& a website credit) not equal to what 2nd room cost. We never saw the one bedroom. The studio is spacious, the location is good, and it was easy to contact the owner. But we didn't book this space and ceiling stains & mold indicate that leaky is nothing new. "

Complete your stay with a magnificent view of the Mississippi River from this private guesthouse sitting high on the bluff. It is located only 1.2 miles from downtown, historic Hannibal where there are restaurants and shops, visitor attractions and parks.

2020 RENOVATIONS include removal of old wallpaper and popcorn ceilings and new paint in living room, kitchen and bathroom which fives the house a much fresher look. The guesthouse has been newly decorated.
870 square feet all to yourself! The bedroom has a NEW king bed and an oscillating fan on the dresser. There is also a queen bed in the living area. A privacy curtain is in place which can provide some separation from the living room. There are stairs leading to the entrance of this house from the parking area. There is a sizable deck with patio table and chairs. There is also a bench for sitting on to watch the barges and river boats go by. There are two lounge chairs on the deck also. A propane gas grill is available for outdoor grilling.

The guest house is separate from the owner’s house and there is no access to the garage area below the guest house.

Beds were fairly comfortable, but would like to have a choice of a flatter pillow. Air conditioning was powerful! We had to turn the thermostat to "less cold", but I know that is a plus for a lot of people. Our main recommendation is for more comfortable seating in the living room to watch TV. Do all VRBO locations ask you to start the laundry, dish washer and take out the trash? And charge a cleaning fee? We haven't been out much in the past 3 years! Yes, I would recommend this stay."

There is an apartment in the basement that is also available for short-term rentals. There is the potential for another guest to be in that unit. However, they are completely separated and neither unit has access to the other.
On the other hand, if you need more room or another bed, and the dates are open, we can work out a deal and you can reserve both units.

This home doesn't have a washer and dryer, but there is a laundromat just down the road. It's called 'Wedge Wash' and is only 3 minutes away from home.

This space is completely separated from The Parlor on Paris, (the upstairs listing). To access this home, please follow the sidewalk on the right side of the home. Also note, there is one thermostat for the entire home. We offer the ability to cover the vents and a space heater to help regulate the temperature of your space.

Since we were taking shifts & staying with her around the clock, it was the perfect place to relax, refuel & rest. Kitchen was very functional with a great gas stove & full size appliances. Shower was perfect and the entire unit is nicely decorated. Our host was responsive and easy to work with as we needed to update our reservations. It was a blessing to have this apartment available. I would recommend either unit, depending on a family's specific circumstances. I would enjoy staying here again and having time to explore the town and enjoy a festival or take the dinner cruise."
