A newer vacation home, the Lake House on Hayden combines the elegance of the city, a gourmet kitchen, stainless appliances, washer/dryer, flat screen TVs with Satellite service, DVD and CD players, and a built-in speaker system throughout the house, granite, slate, and hardwood floors with all the comforts of a Lakeside Cabin, a private dock, view decks, fire pit, a gas grill, and a kid's 'triple-decker' bunk bed room. The living room’s focal point is the cathedral wood ceiling, sweeping views of the lake, and a beautiful stone fireplace...which you can turn on with the flick of a switch. We looked for years for this wonderful lake and house!!

Our lake front family home sits at the end of a quiet bay near Sunset Beach, known for its great fishing. Situated on the east side of Hayden Lake, our home is far enough away from town to feel rural and secluded yet close enough to Hayden and Coeur d’ Alene for convenient shopping for supplies at a variety of stores like Costco, Albertsons, or Wal-Mart.

The gentle slope from home down to the beach with west facing exposure means long summer days in the sun enjoying all the outdoor amenities our home has to offer including – private beach and boat dock, three kayaks, paddleboat, corn hole game, numerous inner tubes, beach chairs, outdoor fire pit, barbecue, picnic table, and outdoor shower.

Young children especially like playing down by the beach in our full-size dollhouse/clubhouse with two bunk beds inside.

We love lingering over evening meals on the expansive porch overlooking the lake and sunset beyond.

Inside amenities include Jacuzzi tub, Internet service, two TVs, DVD player, VHS player, ping-pong table, board games, and a large collection of books and puzzles.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a stainless steel oven, microwave, two refrigerators, toaster, coffee maker, and Kitchen Aid mixer.

Sleeping accommodations have flexibility with space for 8 -10 people. The master bedroom is on the entry-level with a king size bed and adjoining bathroom. Also on the entry-level is a den/office with desk, printer and scanner and pull out futon queen size bed.

The lower level of the house has two bedrooms each with queen size beds. The very large utility room is furnished with a trundle bed, additional futon, and washer and dryer. The downstairs den has a queen size pull out sleeper couch. The downstairs bathroom has two sinks and a tub shower. Just outside is an outdoor shower built at the forest edge.

Hayden Lake, with 40 miles of shoreline is free of crowds and has plenty of coves and inlets making it a great lake for waterskiing, jet skiing, sailing and fishing. It is shallow enough to be warm in the summer. For those of us who hate cold water, you can swim in the lake without a wet suit throughout the summer months.

Boats are available for rental at Hayden Marina on the lake. There are two public boat launch ramps. Honeysuckle Beach is at the southwest end of the lake and Sportsmen Access is at the northeast end of the lake.

Your dogs are welcome to join you on your vacation at our home for an additional fee.

The town of Hayden is 45 minutes by car due east from Spokane, Washington International Airport, a small comfortable airport with direct flights from many cities across the United States.
Coeur d’ Alene, a charming nearby city with its larger lake, historic main street, arts festivals, and great restaurants is about 30 minutes from our home.
This area of northern Idaho it is also known for over 50 great golf courses and Silverwood Amusement Park is about 45 minutes due north.
For winter fun, Schweitzer Mountain, Idaho’s foremost ski area is located about 1 ½ hours to the north just outside of Sandpoint, Idaho.

The owner might want to consider some tweaks to make it even better: fix the screen door to the upper deck, replace the non-closing kitchen trash can, remove the broken dining room arm chair, be a bit more generous with paper products (paper towels/TP) or edit listing to reflect "initial" or "limited" supply thereof. More importantly, the listing or welcome material should mention Bob, the friendly or intrusive neighbor who claims to own the outdoor shower, have an access agreement to tap into the house's water supply, lets his dogs run wild with no attempt to clean up, and even tried to bum a beer off us. It was an awkward situation; a little knowledge would have empowered us to be a bit more decisive."

Gorgeous views across Mokins Bay on beautiful Hayden Lake. Enjoy it from the spacious main cabin decks upstairs and downstairs, together with a group of up to 14 people or on your own from the hammock or your own quiet space. Mornings are quiet and peaceful. Watch for our resident eagle, lots of osprey and geese. Our location is famous for getting the last light at the end of the day.

The private dock with covered boat slip has great swimming, fishing, floating and boating. Most of the summer, we have a super beach that creates a protected place for family swimming and water fun.

This is a cozy family home, to which we are making regular updates. For the summer of 2026, that includes new couches in the main cabin, new carpet and an Amazon Fire TV so you can enjoy whatever streaming services you subscribe to. Games and puzzles galore, plus lawn games like volleyball, badminton, cornhole, and a basketball hoop.

We have an unusual big, lush lawn with a bathhouse and two "glamping" tents. The property is two lots, so there's space to gather together and re-charge in smaller groups or on your own.

Quiet time is from 10 pm to 7 am in respect to all in this tranquil area.

Living Spaces:
Camp Hayden consists of a main house cabin overlooking the lake, and two separate tent cabins located about 50'-60' away from main cabin, on either side of a nice lawn.

The main house has two spacious bedrooms downstairs and one small bedroom upstairs, with one full bathroom on each level. There is also a loft above the living room, with a single bed, toys, a kids' desk and puzzles and toys. This space is popular with kids. The loft and the stairs accessing it have cable railing for safety.

The upstairs bathroom has one sink, one toilet and a shower/bathtub combo. The downstairs bathroom has two sinks and a toilet & shower room, separated by a sliding door.

Both floors of the main cabin have spacious decks overlooking the lake. The top deck has a picnic table on one end and round cocktail/snack table for group gatherings during quiet mornings or beautiful twilights. The lower deck has lounge chairs, benches and a hammock.

About 50'-60' feet from the main house are the two glamping tent cabins. Each has a king size bed and two single beds, with plenty of drawers and places to hang clothing. Comfy beds and cozy linens, plus electricity for reading lights and fans.

The tent cabins are about 20' from what we call the "bathhouse." This is a building with two separate bathrooms and two enclosed, open-to-the sky showers overlooked by a canopy of big beautiful trees. The bathhouse also has a sink, extra washer/dryer, small frig and freezer, oodles of lawn games and a place to sit and watch the lawn activity.

Location: Hayden Lake is located in Northern Idaho, near the small town of Hayden and the bigger town of Coeur d'Alene and Coeur d'Alene Lake. Our cabin is on the Eastern shore of Hayden Lake, which has 40 miles of shoreline. The Spokane airport is about a 60-70 minute drive from the cabin.

Our waterfront property is in Mokins Bay, with great fishing: kokanee, trout, bass, northern pike and crappie. Hikes in the Idaho Panhandle National Forest are close by and walking Hayden Lake Road is a pleasant work-out with inspiring views. Cyclists love the round-the-lake Hayden Lake Road adventure.

We highly recommend the Hiawatha Trains to Trail bike ride, in Wallace, Idaho if you can bear to leave the lake for a day. It's amazing!

Hayden Lake Marina rents all kinds of boats, offers a neat tour of the lake, and has a waterfront restaurant that we love --the Boat House.. We also love the Kootenai County Farmers Market Saturday mornings in Hayden. Music, organic produce, crafts, flowers, and lots of yummy things to eat at the market or bring back to the cabin.

Silverwood Theme Park is close by. Described as a "gem of the Pacific Northwest," the park has great rollercoasters, a water park and a neat train ride.

As a dad, I cherished the opportunity to drink coffee on the deck each morning and watch the sunrise over Hayden lake. It is an opportunity rarely given and I wish for more of it. The house is beautiful and so well organized and well stocked. We spent two days with this as our Silverwood homebase. We all got dried off and cozy and spent the rest of the day doing puzzles (available in the game cabinet downstairs), and watching the thunderstorms roll across the lake. Wonderful stay! This home is a true escape from the hustle and bustle of downtown, yet is a short 7 minute car ride to the city of Hayden. Home is located on a paved, county maintained road with easy year round access.

LOCATION: The home is located in a very quiet serene, beautiful, wooded setting. It is perfect for a family vacation, hosting a wedding party or work retreat.... or your annual girls/guys trip.

HOME: Beautiful home can sleep up to 14 guests in beds. Six bedrooms (one with loft) and 4.5 bathrooms. Two rooms have king size beds, 4 rooms have queen size beds, plus a loft with a twin bunk.

If you enjoy cooking while on vacation, you will love our professional gourmet kitchen with dual oven, wolf range, ice maker, 2 Miele dishwashers.

Our vacation home offers comfort and enjoyment with two family rooms to entertain your guests, a sitting room, study, and more. Lower-level family room comes complete with surround sound, digital projector and electric drop down screen for dual use as a theater room. Home is equipped with an all-home back up generator so protected from unexpected power outages. Satellite internet is provided and perfect for browsing the internet and keeping up with your emails. *Please be aware that streaming is limited due to internet limitations on Hayden Lake*

Located on 1 private acre with hot tub, 2-car garage on main level and large driveway. Full washer/dryer available on main level as well as a second set on the lower level of home.
Owners do not reside on site. Exterior and garage cameras located on the property for security.

FUN ON THE LAKE: The property has access to a shared dock and is shared with our neighbor. The dock has two boat slips; one for each property (**discuss size of your boat with owner prior to your stay to ensure your boat will fit in the boat slip**) The dock boasts coveted deep water access which ensures wonderful swimming, fishing and water play. Bring your kayak, paddle boards and boat. Deep water access ensures sparkling water whether its early summer or late in the season. You never need to worry about seaweed or milfoil ruining your lake days or your vacation.

The shared boat dock is accessed by a short walk down a private road, then transects to a private path to lake (5 min walk from home). The path to the lake is lightly graveled, steeper sloped and part of the path has wooden stairs. May not be ideal for small children or elderly.

PARKING AT THE HOME: Our vacation home has easy access on a county maintained paved road. Drive directly into the private driveway (as simple as that may sound... it's not typical on Hayden Lake). The property has a large, oversized driveway that can park up to 4 cars, plus our renters have access to a 2-car garage on the main level. This allows up to 6 vehicles to park on the premises. Please refrain from parking vehicles on the road. All vehicles need to be parked in the private 4-car driveway or inside the 2-car garage on the main level of the home.
***PLEASE NOTE… there is no parking at the lake access point. Vehicles must be parked at the home and guests access the dock via a 5-min walk down Knox road, then the private path to the lake***

NEARBY ACTIVITIES: Silverwood Theme Park is within a 15 min drive, Schweitzer Mountain Ski Area within 1 hour, Silver Mountain Ski Resort within 45 min. Avondale Golf Course 7 min drive. CDA Resort Golf Course and Downtown Coeur d Alene is an easy 20-25 min drive. City of Hayden is a short 7 minute drive. Two public boat launches are available on Hayden Lake. Walking access to beautiful English Point Trail System, Nearby Hiking and Mountain Biking, Spokane Airport is a one hour drive from vacation home.

This beautiful cottage in Hayden Lake Idaho. Walking distance to two golf courses (Avondale - Public and Hayden Lake Country Club - Private) and two restaurants (The Porch and The restaurant at Avondale) This home used to be the neighborhood art studio. The kitchen tiles and tiles around the fireplace in the second bedroom are hand painted from the local artists. This home is also a Farragut house which was a moved from its original location in 1946. Hot tub and private back yard makes for wonderful evening dips

There is parking for 2 vehicles in the driveway, but please note: trailers do not fit. If you’re bringing a boat, reach out and we’ll gladly share nearby launch and trailer parking options.

- "We were so looking forward to having a quiet relaxing time at the lake. We came with intent to fix our own meals and spend time reading or playing cards. Unfortunately we could none of that. There was no inside kitchen table and chairs to set at and eat or play cards. There is an outside table and benches but between the weather being cold and winding and a nuisance cat it certainly was not an option. I bought a $25 steak looking forward to barbecuing but the barbecue was so flithy that we weren't willing to take time to clean it, seeing how we had no place to enjoy eating it. Eating steak on a bed or having to eat outside in the cold and having to fight off a nuisance cat just wasn't an option. There was only one inside chair for two people and the bed to sit on. The bed was comfortable but not for sitting on and eating or playing cards. The owner offered to fully refund us if we were willing to leave after we had already brought everything down 2 flights of stairs and it was after 4:00 We didn't know the area and didn't have time to look for another place. Again that just wasn't an option. So we ended up having to find places to eat. Which was not in our plan. Why have kitchen if there is no place to seat and enjoy the meal. And the cat, everytime we opened the door the cat was at our feet meowing and trying to get in or walk between our legs so even if it where nice enough to seat outside you have to deal with a meowing in your face cat. Not my idea of fun or relaxing."

Enjoy your stay on the lake with views and lakefront access. This cabin sleeps 7 people comfortably with more sleeping accommodations of couches and bed trundle. There is a dock waiting for a boat and to lounge on. Enjoy Hayden Lake at its finest.
