This charming shabby chic and private waterfront cabin is a wonderful place for two people who want to get away from it all! Our romantic Swanky Cabin is newly renovated and features an open floor plan, one loft bedroom with a Layla queen bed, a full bathroom with shower and washer and dryer. The living room features a wood burning fireplace, high-speed internet, 2 large flat screen TV's, pool table and a large sectional sleeper sofa. The well-equipped kitchen and adjacent dining area make this a great spot to dine in . You can also BBQ on the deck overlooking the gorgeous Clark Fork River and enjoy dining in natures finest!
During the summer enjoy some of North Idaho’s best fishing, unlimited hiking, swimming, crawdad hunting, kayaking and basking in the warm sun! After enjoying a long day on the river, head in to watch a DVD, play some pool or choose a board game to play.

Please note: during snowy winter months 4wd is required. You must drive down a mini semi-steep hill for parking. We will have snow plowing during winter months and we ask that you move your vehicle when the plow comes by so they can clear the entire driveway. Also, depending how long your stay is, we may need to come by and shovel the snow off the deck and the front entry way, but we will be sure to give advanced notice. - "This was a beautiful property and amazing home! With every little thing put in the home with love and care, you can tell! We had a blast playing pool, enjoying the views, and paddle boarding. You do have to scale the hill with a rope to the river but we didn’t have any issues! Still got the paddle boards down , we did have to carry them up a bit to prevent the water rise at night washing them away. We had a very friendly pup visit us by the water and swing who wanted nothing but to play! What a joy! Neighbors were no bother and still seems to be pretty private from them. Sadly we could not have any fires due to the season but I’m sure they’d be beautiful, instead we watched the helicopters collect water from the river for the nearby fires. We used our paddle boards to go about two miles up river to the fish hatchery and back and explored all the woods and beautiful mountain run off spots further up off shore. I love to explore new places every year and this will definitely be one of my favorites! Very memorable and anything I didn’t have was supplied for my forgetful self. Easy instructions and amazing hosts. Thank you for opening your home for others to enjoy!"

We have a stunning view of Silver Mountain and are less than 4 minutes by car from the front door to the gondola, allowing for easy and quick access to all that Silver Mountain has to offer while also be just far enough outside the noise of a busy resort.

You're only 1/2 mile to one of the nation's best trails - the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes. You don't even need a car to get there. You can hop on your bike and hit the trail for a day of breathtaking scenery.

Our condo does not have an elevator. There are two flights of stairs to access the condo.

The cabin backs up to the Kaniksu National Forest and many miles of dirt roads and trails for hunting, hiking, 4-wheeling, motorcycles, side by sides, horseback riding, bike riding, snowshoeing and snowmobiling with a warming hut up the road. Access right from the cabin to many trailheads like Goat Mtn, Scotchman's Peak, Morris Creek and several lakes. Lake Pend Oreille is only 7 miles from doorstep to boat launch. Schweitzer Mtn is a 45 minute drive, the town of Sandpoint about 40 minutes. Very close to Cabinet Mountain Wilderness. Property is on Lightning Creek and the town of Clark Fork is just 3 miles down the road.

Our group came out from Spokane and CDA, and we stayed Thursday-Saturday night. We woke up and headed for the ski hill - right across the parking lot! We came back tired as dogs after a day of skiing took full advantage relaxing in the amazing massive hot tub and then cooked a delicious dinner in the full kitchen - it had everything we could possibly need. Our group really loved how close the condo was in town. The lobby and building felt very cozy, resort like. Daybed & Couch are very comfortable as well! Parking/building access was nice and easy. A Delightful Mongolian Yurt and Custom Tiny House

Poindexter’s Palace is very unique. You will have an eclectic experience with a combination of a traditional Mongolian Yurt (Ger), combined with a Tiny House that gives the guests two separate areas to enjoy.

Clark Fork is a beautiful North Idaho small town with small town charm. There are a lot of outdoor activities to enjoy including Clark Fork River, Lake Pend Oreille, Schweitzer Ski Resort, and miles of back roads and trails to enjoy.

THE SPACE:
Have you ever thought of renting a Yurt? Have you ever thought of renting a Tiny House? Well now you can do both. We bought this property in 2018 and have slowly been preparing it for your enjoyment. It is named after are current German Shepard Dog, Poindexter, aka: Dex. The poster in the yurt looks just like him.

The yurt is a traditional Mongolian yurt, also called a Ger. It is 350 square feet. When you step in you almost forget it is a tent. Almost all the furniture I hand built. There is a king size bed, along with a couch, dining table and a bench. A free standing armoire is available for any clothes you might need to hang. Please do not hang anything on the yurt rafters.

The yurt also has a small refrigerator and keurig coffee maker for your convenience.

I hand built the tiny house myself. The small living space has a full size couch and with the large windows it feels much bigger than it is. There is two wall mounted, pull up and fold down, tables that are perfect for a small work space. A full kitchen with a small 4 burner stove makes those eat in meals a breeze. A large sink makes clean up easy. It is fully equipped for all your cooking needs. Comes with a toaster and an air fryer, as well.

The tiny house has a full bath with a nice size stand up shower. Please be aware that there is only a 6 gallon hot water heater that is supported by an on demand hot water heater. Although I have never ran out of hot water, (it has got cooler, but never cold.) Please be judicious with hot water usage.

The loft is accessed via an extendable ladder that is stored on the wall and once opened is secured to the loft entrance with permanent hooks.

GUEST ACCESS
The yurt and tiny house are all yours while you enjoy your stay. They are separated by a few steps across the deck. There is plenty of parking for your use.

Consider bringing shoes or sandals that you can easily slip on and off as you go from the yurt and tiny house.

OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS:
A yurt is a very nice tent. With that said, please be aware you are going to hear outside noise, however it is a very quiet neighborhood. You will hear passing trains in the distance. You can also hear Lightning Creek, especially at night.

Please also be aware that the noise you create is easily heard outside of the Yurt.
The entrance to the yurt is a very short door. WATCH YOUR HEAD. We have hit our head on it many times and know how that feels. Be careful please.

Just steps away, the local community pool in Kellogg is free. The pool is well taken care of, has a great diving board, is very large, and has a great toddler area.

Silver Mountain has a free bike park adjacent to the parking lot and in the summer has free outdoor movies on the weekends.

There is plenty to do around here to satisfy your active lifestyle if you like golf, bicycling on mountain trails or along the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes, skiing, fly fishing, making s'mores, exploring mine tours, or antiquing in nearby historic Wallace. The Silver Mountain resort area is known for its stunning scenery, great hospitality, top-notch mountain biking trails, a ginormous indoor water park, and premier skiing in the winter.

The kitchen works well and is fully stocked with all the pots and pans. Regular coffee pot available or bring your own Keurig. (We like to cook so i recommended to them that they consider a small Blackstone grill for the balcony but not a necessity just would help limit food odors in the building). Spacious fridge and freezer with a robust ice maker! Living room is spacious and comfortable to sit back and watch a movie or read a book. It’s always a gamble on the comfort of a bed when you get a rental, but let me reassure you this bed is fantastic! Extremely comfortable and a full size king. Overall this is an absolutely amazing place to visit and stay during your time in kellogg. Quick easy drive to get to the Hiawatha trail as well. You will not be disappointed at all if you book this! - "We had a really nice stay at the VRBO. Marino was quick to respond to any concerns that we had. The condo is spacious and comfortable and close to everything we had planned for our vacation. The garage has pretty tight parking, but it is secure and we felt very comfortable leaving our bikes out there. We would stay here again without question. There are a couple of houses down the street that are a little run down, but the condos are beautiful and safe so I wouldn’t let that scare you away."
