And lovely beach walks are just minutes sway without getting the car out. There was an initial problem getting in but Andreas responded very quickly to help us and we had no problems thereafter. The property has steep narrow stairs with no bannister one side and only a partial one the other. No problem to us but to those with mobility issues, for example very elderly visitors, it might be a consideration, especially as the bathroom is downstairs and the open plan living area is upstairs."

Spacious 3 bedroom detatched house down a quiet no through road. 3 bedrooms, one king size, one double, and one with 2 bunk beds. All bedrooms are carpeted. The bathroom has been recently replaced. The entrance opens into the Main Hall, with log burner, piano lounge and high vaulted ceiling. The huge kitchen-breakfast room overlooks the pool and garden, with a large island/breakfast bar, table and chairs and a corner lounge with 66” Smart TV. Another set of double doors lead into the dining room with more views over the pool deck, garden and sea beyond. Bifold doors open up these rooms to make the most of al fresco living. From the kitchen there is also a boot/dog room with separate shower, a pantry and stairs to the drawing room. Also downstairs can be found Bedroom Six, a separate WC and a laundry room. - "We had the most amazing 4 nights at the Shallows. The house is absolutely perfect, beautifully furnished with enormous rooms and everything you could need for a large group. There is a beautiful garden with a fantastic swimming pool and the tidal water comes up to the end of the garden twice a day. We swam each day at high tide and used the jacuzzi and sauna to warm back up. We spent some time in Chichester and Bosham as well as walking along the beach at Hayling island. We also visited ‘Sam’s Sunflowers’ which is a short walk away and really beautiful. You get 3 sunflowers each included in the entry price so the house was full of them! You really don’t need to leave the house much so we didn’t plan many activities. We took two dogs and the house was really well set up for them with their own room including a shower to get the mud off. Allison was fantastic and really responsive when we had any questions - even lending us her own coffee machine! We would definitely like to return in the future."

The studio is among a small selection of 25 or so similar property built in the 1950s located on a secluded, quiet private road.

The property was renovated and now provides a unique space for living, dining, bathing and cooking with a glass galleried bed deck with a comfortable and cosy bedroom space. At the end of the back garden there are steps over the low wall directly onto the pebble/sandy beach, and fishing is available nearby. When the tide goes out it makes a great crabbing area, with many pools along the sand. Hayling Island is well known for its sailing activities, it is sheltered by the Isle of Wight, making it ideal for watersports activities. It is renowned for its windsurfing, kayaking, power boating, jet ski-ing, kitesurfing and wake boarding. Local paddle boating and windsurfing lessons are available close by. Every year there is a national windsurfing event, and a hive of sailing and nautical activity can be seen along the coastline. Walk the Hayling Billy Trail, which starts at the former railway line where the theatre now is, or take a pleasant amble overlooking Langstone Harbour.

Many activities can be enjoyed locally for all ages, including a seaside railway and a small amusement park for the children. This charming 2 bedroom character cottage is set in a lovely tree lined road within the older part of Hayling Island. Guests can enjoy a quiet level walk to the beach or the local shopping centres, all reached in under 10 minutes.

Entering the cottage into the hallway there is a cosy sitting room to the front with a log burning stove, comfy seating and smart TV.

To the rear of the property there is a large open plan kitchen dining area with another log burner and cosy seating area. The kitchen is very well equipped so guests will be able, comfortably, to self cater for their stay including kettle, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, large double electric oven and 7 ring gas hob and integral grill. The hosts have also provided a washing machine, iron and ironing board. There is a large scrubbed top table with plenty of seating looking out onto the pretty cottage garden which has an outside table with chairs cushions and, for May to September, a large sunshade.

Upstairs there are two double bedrooms, one with a vanity basin. The family bathroom is on the first floor with bath with shower attachment, good size shower cubicle and WC.

There is off road parking for two vehicles.

Full gas central heating throughout, with part underfloor heating, and the hosts kindly provide logs for the downstairs wood burners for a couple of nights. New , for Winter 24/25, is an easy-adjustment heating control unit enabling guests to control the house temperature precisely to their needs.

Dogs are welcome to stay at Dolphin Cottage, (though unfortunately no cats due to owner allergies) but any additional damage/cleaning as a result will be charged.

Hayling Island is a lovely quiet town on the eastern border of Hampshire with lovely beaches and an interesting mix of independent shops, restaurants and cafes, There is a lovely walk (or cycle) along the Billy Line starting on the waterfront and all the way into Havant following the old railway line.

A cyclists' paradise, generally, there are many, many options to suit all competence levels, including the popular Hayling Island ferry link to Portsmouth and Southsea seafront.

Another must visit during your stay is to Gunwharf Quays outlet shopping centre and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. The Hayling Ferry (passenger and cycle) to Portsmouth, Eastney links with a bus route (No. 25) which passes all the main points of interest in Portsmouth and Southsea and so makes a great day out. Special late night bus and ferry arrangements are also made for those visiting Victorious Festival from Hayling.

Just a short drive to the east you will find Chichester, the Roman Palace and also The Weald and Downland Open Air Museum, home of the BBC Repair Shop.

- "Cottage as described and will stay again. It worked well travelling with our dogs. " - "Dolphin Cottage is in a very quiet and pretty lane, quite close to the beach, and some shops and pubs. The cottage is beautifully decorated, very clean, well equipped kitchen and the two wood burning stoves are lovely to have in the winter months. We brought our bikes and enjoyed cycling around the island. The nature reserves are particularly interesting and beautiful. When we arrived at Dolphin Cottage it was very cold. It would have been nice if the heating had been set to come on before we arrived. We turned up the thermostat, but the radiators only reached lukewarm. Eventually we worked out that the setting on the boiler was turned down to 35 degrees, which wasn’t enough to get the room temperature above 16.5 degrees. Once we turned up the boiler setting to 50 degrees, the radiators started to get warm. We also lit both wood burning stoves, and that helped to warm the cottage up. We were fairly comfortable for the rest of the week. Though it is worth bearing in mind that there is a huge draught from under the front door, (you can see daylight under the door!), so we were careful to keep the doors to the living areas closed. And it was definitely a good idea to bring warm jumpers! Otherwise it was all great!"

- "Spacious and light accommodation.. Only downsides were uncomfortable and tired sofa. Also a very thin quilt on my bed for time of year. Had to add a further quilt and blankets! We enjoyed our visit very much and it was ideal for mixed age group." - "The location of being right on the beach was perfect. The house is ideal for a large family or group of friends. But, the same as others have mentioned, the house looks a bit neglected from the front, and it would definitely benefit from a bit of TLC inside as well. The main bathroom was a bit shabby, some of the windows and doors wouldn’t lock/shut properly.. the sofa in the front room was uncomfortable. There was no dishcloth in the sink, and a few extra things like cooking oil would have made all the difference in the kitchen. Saying all this, we had a lovely few days together.. but the above mentioned things are an easy fix, not costly and would have made a big difference."

- "As I expected, breath taking views, peaceful and tranquil. Sam’s Sunflower trip was very enjoyable and a hit with the children and adults of all ages. Farm stores to buy fruit and vegetables and all things delicious. " - "My family of 6 stayed here from USA , for our 2 week vacation visiting the area and our UK family. The house was very large, clean and spacious and a good location near Havant and not far from the seafront. A small farm shop, stoke fruit farm half a mile away, for basics and the large Tesco in Havant. A walking path along the water edge was nice. Georgina was easy to contact. We would give the property 5 stars but there were a few issues hence 4 stars. The house is a smart home and instructions on how things work would have been appreciated.. the downstairs toilet wouldn’t flush properly. The sliding doors in the living room were really hard to push open. The A/C units in 2 of the bedrooms leaked. Two bedrooms were missing curtains/blinds. The hot tub needed cleaning/maintenance as the water was dirty. Overall a little more TLC was needed. But it was a good fit for a large group, there aren’t many large homes in the area. "

- "Overall the stay was very good but could not go out for dinner that evening as we didn't know how to get back into the property as the door was ajar when we got there and during trips back and forth for bags from the car it was locked. Tried the key for the apartment but it didn't work, it was then I realised I couldn't get in. Fortunately the Wife had stayed in the apartment and buzzed me in when I called on the buzzer. Our cosy, family-friendly static caravan is tucked away in the lovely Meadow Bay Holiday Park, just a short stroll from the beach. It’s a great place to relax, unwind, and enjoy some traditional seaside fun on the South Coast.

Inside, the caravan comfortably sleeps up to 8 people. You’ll find two double bedrooms, one twin bedroom, and a comfy double sofa bed in the lounge. We provide all your bedding and towels, so you don’t need to pack extra – just bring yourselves!

The open-plan living and dining area is perfect for family time, with a sofa, dining table, TV and heating throughout. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook a proper meal – oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, pans and utensils. There’s a shower room, a separate toilet, and basic cleaning supplies too.

Outside, there’s parking for two cars and a grassy area beside the caravan – no decking, which can be great for little ones to run around safely.

The holiday park has loads to offer, including an indoor heated pool, outdoor splash park (great for kids!), a playground, family activities, disc golf and evening entertainment. Passes for these are not included in your stay but can be bought from reception when you arrive.

Hayling Island is a gem on the South Coast – clean beaches, arcades, fish & chips, kite surfing, paddleboarding, and plenty of spots for walks or bike rides. You’re also close to Portsmouth, the South Downs and some great coastal pubs and cafes.

There’s no Wi-Fi in the caravan, but the 4G signal is strong if you need it. Most of our guests enjoy switching off for a bit and making the most of family time or beach days.

Enjoy the incredible views of the ocean from this modern, high end family home that sleeps up to 7. If that`s not enough, there is an 80inch TV and full size pool table to keep everyone happy during your stay! This amazing property not only has views of the ocean and has great access to the sea front just down stairs and around the building and you are at the water. Evenings are catered for too as in only a few minutes walk you are at some of the islands best bars and restaurants.

Located on the first and second floor, this newly renovated house has a huge open plan kitchen, living and dining room which is great for family life. The slick modern kitchen comes fully equipped with everything you could need for a home from home visit including a dishwasher so no washing up! The large dining room table transforms into a fantastic pool table and can even be used for ping pong. The living area has a large comfy sofa so everyone can gather round to watch Netflix on the big screen. The whole room overlooks the sea though large patio doors which open out to a balcony with additional seating perfect for an evening drink and watch the sunset.

Upstairs there is a master bedroom with the same fantastic view and a king size bed. The second bedroom is also a double and both have built in storage. The third bedroom has bunk beds and a further pull out bed so sleeps 3. There is an upstairs laundry cupboard with a washing machine.

The parking space can accommodate two cars.

Taxis and Ubers in Portsmouth are readily available and very inexpensive as the city is so small.

Local taxis can be booked by phone or app and the most popular one is Aqua Cars.

Uber also operates a lot in the city and can be arranged via the app.

If you’re getting a taxi from Gunwharf Quays, they are twice the price if you go to the taxi rank rather than ordering one in advance.

Alternatively many places are walkable. A walk from Albert Road to Palmerston road is roughly 10 mins.

The space
Enjoy a seaside holiday when you stay in this charming house just a stone's throw away from the beach. With the beach on your doorstep, plenty of cafes, family activities such as adventure golf as well as the Hayling Light Railway, this is the perfect family getaway.

The home is a relaxed beach style with a large private garden with outdoor furniture, perfect for playing and alfresco dining.

There is space to park up to three cars on the driveway in front of the property. Head up some steps and enter into the entrance hall, with a sunny dining space, perfect to enjoy meals together as a family.

Enter into the cosy, freshly decorated sitting room with a Smart TV (You will need to use your own log in details for the TV applications).

The master bedroom leads off from the sitting room with a king-sized bed and plenty of storage space with ample hanging space.

Through the sitting room is access to the rest of the home. The twin bedroom has two single beds, and the third bedroom also has two single beds.

Heading into the back of house is the family bathroom has a shower, and there is a separate toilet room and kitchen.

The kitchen is well-equipped with gas hob, oven, fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, and dishwasher.

There is a separate utility room with a washer-dryer outside in the garden.

The private garden with a patio to enjoy the sun, perfect for a morning coffee. The spacious garden has comfortable seating, perfect for an alfresco dinner.

You will have access to the entire home. I won't be around in person, however, I have help managing my home with a local professional holiday property management company. The home is professionally cleaned and the linen and towels are replaced with freshly laundered supplies between each stay. Remote self check-in gives flexibility for late arrivals, and 24/7 guest support is on hand should you need any assistance during your stay.

There will be some complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits waiting for you which I am sure will be useful for those arriving after a long journey!

Fresh white bedding and towels are provided (hand towel and bath towel per person), as well as miniature travel sized bottles of shampoo, shower gel and soap. Other items included are a kitchen pack (kitchen roll, jeyes cloths, sponge, washing up liquid, bin liners, tea towel, washing pod and some dishwasher tablets) as well as loo rolls. These should last a few days, if more is needed, there is a local convenience store a 10 minute walk away.

- Dogs must be well behaved and house trained.
- Please do not allow them upstairs or on the furniture.
- Please clear up after them in the garden and around the property.
- Muddy paws should be cleaned before they are allowed in the house.
- Please do not leave them alone in the property.
