- "We found the property to be nearly perfect for our needs. We were very comfortable. It was wonderful looking out over the nature reserve with the sea beyond. And lovely beach walks are just minutes sway without getting the car out. There was an initial problem getting in but Andreas responded very quickly to help us and we had no problems thereafter. The property has steep narrow stairs with no bannister one side and only a partial one the other. No problem to us but to those with mobility issues, for example very elderly visitors, it might be a consideration, especially as the bathroom is downstairs and the open plan living area is upstairs."

We had to spend the first night at the hotel and pay additional money. We paid for 7 nights but only could stay 6 nights in the apartment since on the first night we could not enter. - "Excellent location with the beach just behind the property. The apartment was modern and mostly well equipped. The shower drain is blocked and needs sorting - have emailed. The sofa bed wasn't set up even though we had booked for 4 people. The kitchen could do with a few more plates, bowls, pizza tray and a chopping board. The apartment has a two floor flat above it. There were a family of 5 staying there while we were there. They were as quiet as they could be but you could hear the kids running around and practicing their brass instrument! - "We had a 3 night stay booked for my husband to do some beach fishing, so ideal location. There was a couple of points. There is no light by the apartment front door at night, so you can’t see to get the key in the door. The sofa, and bedroom carpet had Was extremely windy on our visit. - "As I expected, breath taking views, peaceful and tranquil. Sam’s Sunflower trip was very enjoyable and a hit with the children and adults of all ages. Our cosy, family-friendly static caravan is tucked away in the lovely Meadow Bay Holiday Park, just a short stroll from the beach. It’s a great place to relax, unwind, and enjoy some traditional seaside fun on the South Coast.

Inside, the caravan comfortably sleeps up to 8 people. You’ll find two double bedrooms, one twin bedroom, and a comfy double sofa bed in the lounge. We provide all your bedding and towels, so you don’t need to pack extra – just bring yourselves!

The open-plan living and dining area is perfect for family time, with a sofa, dining table, TV and heating throughout. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook a proper meal – oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, pans and utensils. There’s a shower room, a separate toilet, and basic cleaning supplies too.

Outside, there’s parking for two cars and a grassy area beside the caravan – no decking, which can be great for little ones to run around safely.

The holiday park has loads to offer, including an indoor heated pool, outdoor splash park (great for kids!), a playground, family activities, disc golf and evening entertainment. Passes for these are not included in your stay but can be bought from reception when you arrive.

Enjoy the incredible views of the ocean from this modern, high end family home that sleeps up to 7. If that`s not enough, there is an 80inch TV and full size pool table to keep everyone happy during your stay! This amazing property not only has views of the ocean and has great access to the sea front just down stairs and around the building and you are at the water. Evenings are catered for too as in only a few minutes walk you are at some of the islands best bars and restaurants.

Located on the first and second floor, this newly renovated house has a huge open plan kitchen, living and dining room which is great for family life. The slick modern kitchen comes fully equipped with everything you could need for a home from home visit including a dishwasher so no washing up! The large dining room table transforms into a fantastic pool table and can even be used for ping pong. The living area has a large comfy sofa so everyone can gather round to watch Netflix on the big screen. The whole room overlooks the sea though large patio doors which open out to a balcony with additional seating perfect for an evening drink and watch the sunset.

We had a great time as a family of seven with agaes ranging from 13 to 80. We did find sharing one bathroom with a single toilet a bit challenging."

Windsurfing was invented on Hayling Island and it is also renowned for its great SUP paddle boarding, kayaking & kitesurfing along with great sailing.
The Hayling Billy Coastal Path...... great views west of Langstone harbour used by walkers, cyclists and horse riders is along the route of the old Hayling Billy railway line between the old station starting at West town to the Hayling bridge 4m.
Seafront Railway...2-mile miniature East Hayling Light Railway fun for all the family.

The space
Enjoy a seaside holiday when you stay in this charming house just a stone's throw away from the beach. With the beach on your doorstep, plenty of cafes, family activities such as adventure golf as well as the Hayling Light Railway, this is the perfect family getaway.

The home is a relaxed beach style with a large private garden with outdoor furniture, perfect for playing and alfresco dining.

There is space to park up to three cars on the driveway in front of the property. Head up some steps and enter into the entrance hall, with a sunny dining space, perfect to enjoy meals together as a family.

Enter into the cosy, freshly decorated sitting room with a Smart TV (You will need to use your own log in details for the TV applications).

The master bedroom leads off from the sitting room with a king-sized bed and plenty of storage space with ample hanging space.

Through the sitting room is access to the rest of the home. The twin bedroom has two single beds, and the third bedroom also has two single beds.

Heading into the back of house is the family bathroom has a shower, and there is a separate toilet room and kitchen.

The kitchen is well-equipped with gas hob, oven, fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, and dishwasher.

There is a separate utility room with a washer-dryer outside in the garden.

The private garden with a patio to enjoy the sun, perfect for a morning coffee. The spacious garden has comfortable seating, perfect for an alfresco dinner.

You will have access to the entire home. I won't be around in person, however, I have help managing my home with a local professional holiday property management company. The home is professionally cleaned and the linen and towels are replaced with freshly laundered supplies between each stay. Remote self check-in gives flexibility for late arrivals, and 24/7 guest support is on hand should you need any assistance during your stay.

There will be some complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits waiting for you which I am sure will be useful for those arriving after a long journey!

Fresh white bedding and towels are provided (hand towel and bath towel per person), as well as miniature travel sized bottles of shampoo, shower gel and soap. Other items included are a kitchen pack (kitchen roll, jeyes cloths, sponge, washing up liquid, bin liners, tea towel, washing pod and some dishwasher tablets) as well as loo rolls. These should last a few days, if more is needed, there is a local convenience store a 10 minute walk away.

My property is pet friendly. Please read and be sure you can adhere to the Pet section on 'Other things to note' before booking with your pet.

Other things to note:

The shingle on the beach in front of the house is sometimes very steep in order to protect our end of the island from flooding. In order for you to access the beach most easily, turn right out of the garden gate and walk 75 metres along the promenade to the steps that connect the beach to the car park.

Twice a year - in the spring and autumn, there is a program of works on the beach to replenish the shingle on the beach and to prevent local properties from flooding. This may cause disturbance to guests when they are operating machinery right in front of the property.

The deck and private, fenced garden offer an ideal spot for enjoying a sundowner or sharing a family meal around the outdoor table. The small fenced garden off the Deck is perfect for both children and pets to play. You are welcome to use the benches located around the Barn, and to pick flowers, veg or fruit in the vegetable garden during your stay but please be aware that for children and dogs, there is no secure fencing of the wider property outside of the small fenced area off the deck and there are water hazards in the wider property and adjacent Creek.

EATING OUT

For a laid-back pub experience, The Ship is a great spot to enjoy a drink while the kids try crabbing. They offer classic pub fare and a delicious Sunday roast. Alternatively, head to the Ferryboat Inn on the Eastern tip of the Island, or drop into Inn on the Beach for a cold beer whilst watching the kite surfers.

For a relaxed lunch with scenic marina views, head to Salt Shack Café at Northney Marina. It’s perfect for a tasty waterside meal - and it’s dog-friendly too. For a classic cream tea or light lunch try Northney Farm Cafe

For the best fish and chips on the island, Whistlers is the go-to spot. They also offer delivery, as does Gandhi Indian Restaurant in Mengeham Village.

If you’re craving freshly made pizza, Sizzling Pizza is a must-visit. This popular pizza van sets up in the car park of Hayling Hardware on Friday evenings, serving excellent made-to-order pizzas—don’t miss the prosciutto!

Waitrose and other supermarkets deliver to the Barn. There is a large Lidl and local CO-OP, Sainsbury’s and Tesco on the Island

Havant Train Station: 15-minute car ride away.
London: Frequent trains from London Waterloo or London Victoria to Havant take about 1.5 hours, with plenty of taxis or a bus connection to Hayling Island at the station.

From the house, you can join the coastal public footpath that leads past Mengeham Rythe Sailing Club, offering spectacular views across Chichester Harbour and onward to the seafront, where you can enjoy stunning vistas over the Solent to the Isle of Wight.

The Billy Trail is another fantastic scenic route for walkers and cyclists, running along the west coast of Hayling Island. Following the path of a former railway line, it offers a tranquil, traffic-free path with sweeping coastal views - perfect for nature lovers, casual strollers, or keen cyclists. At the top end of the trail near the bridge, Bronte’s Food Truck serves tasty snacks and really good coffee.

For watersports lovers, Chichester Harbour offers some of the South Coast’s best conditions for sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, paddleboarding, and swimming. Head to Sparks Marina, where several companies offer paddleboard rentals and lessons.

For cycling enthusiasts, consider biking to the Ferry Point on the island’s west side to catch the small ferry to Eastney Point , Southsea. Check the ferry timetable on their website before your trip. From Eastney, enjoy a ride along the wide seafront promenade through Southsea to historic Old Portsmouth. Feeling adventurous? You can even take your bike on the Hovercraft to Ryde and spend the day exploring the Isle of Wight's many scenic cycle routes. The walk and cycle paths and pubs of the South Downs are accessible from Queen Elizabeth National Park, a 20 minute drive off the Island.

Seacourt Tennis Club, just a 5 minute drive away, boasts 7 different racket sports including Real Tennis (the original game played by King Henry VIII), Lawn Tennis, Badminton, Squash, Padel and Pickle Ball, and they welcome guest players.

The Hayling Light Railway is a charming 2ft narrow-gauge steam railway running between Eastoke Corner and Funland Amusement Park. This two-mile round trip takes passengers along the island’s award-winning Blue Flag beach, with fantastic views of the Solent, and the Isle of Wight.

'Millefleurs' is located in the middle of the island so all the wonderful things the Island has to offer are but a short walk, drive or cycle. Claudia's stydio is located in respectable quiet road approx 200 m to the beach close to the local shops, ideal for kitesurfing and water sports and Sand parks play areas for children , Cycling track, nature reserves , funfair, BMX track and skatepark, ideal for walks . Indian and Chinese restaurants fish and chip shops Tesco's co-op sainsbury's lidl's are all within a short walk .

Boutique Hideaway Hayling boasts modern and luxurious accommodation and is just a short 5-minute walk to the beach. Everything you could need is close by including: trendy cafes, takeaways, a cocktail bar, ice cream parlour, gift shops, convenience stores as well as traditional pubs offering live music and tasty meals. The Boutique Hideaway is close enough for convenience but far enough away to enjoy a quiet restful experience making this the perfect base to enjoy what the island has to offer.

The space
Boutique Hideaway is a clean, functional, modern, self-contained unit with a kitchenette/king-sized bedroom and en-suite. There is seating for eating and this has been designed to also allow for the preparation of food.

You can cook using the small hob complete with a modern worktop standing extractor and the kitchen facilities also include an air fryer and other essential kitchen/cooking utensils.

The bathroom holds a large sink/basin, wardrobe, toilet and walk in thermostatic electric shower unit.

There is significant storage for your personal items and food. Storage includes: 2 pull out drawers under the bed, bedside cabinets, a full height food storage cupboard and the large wardrobe mentioned above. We have also allowed space by the back door and next to the sink unit for storing luggage/bags.

Guest access
This is a self-contained unit so you will have your own front door to come and go as you please. You also have access to the patio area behind the gates. This gets the sun in the evenings and is the perfect spot to sit and relax.

Facilities include: private access, off road parking for one car or small campervan, a generous ensuite, king-sized bedroom, self-catering facilities, free Wi-Fi, handy fridge to keep that wine, beer or milk cold and enough room to sit and enjoy meals. The railway also conveniently connects Eastoke Corner to the Beachlands area.

Seacourt is a private racket club which is home to one of the historic Real Tennis courts which is a very rare find. Private lessons can be arranged by appointment.

Funland Amusement Park is one of Hayling Island’s seafront landmarks and offers all you would expect from a retro fun fare.

Annual events hosted on the Island attract water sports enthusiasts, art and music lovers alike. The annual HI Fest is a must see for free entertainment and hosts acts across 7 venues throughout Hayling and gives the opportunity for all to watch over 70 artists from an impressive range of genres including: Rock; Pop; Reggae, Skiffle and Shantys for tasters. Getting around without a car
This is not a problem at ‘Boutique Hideaway Hayling’ as there are bus stops just outside the property. The number 30 and 31 bus runs regularly throughout the day and evening and gives you convenient links around the island and to Havant Train Station which has direct links to Portsmouth, Chichester, London and Brighton. In addition, the Hayling Ferry; a foot passenger ferry, bridges the gap across the mouth of Langstone Harbour to link Ferry Point on the west tip of Hayling Island with Eastney, Portsmouth on Portsea Island and coordinates several trips with buses to take you into the centre of Portsmouth.

And if this is not enough to tempt you Hayling Island enjoys approximately 30% more sunshine than the UK average, making it an ideal holiday spot. Hayling Island is perfect for a memorable holiday experience regardless of what time of year you plan to visit.

Bus Route around Hayling Island and to Havant Bus station are Numbers 30 and 31.
Basically, both buses do a loop around the island but in different directions.
The number 30 will get you into Havant the quickest. Bus stop opposite the house is called Fishery Lane stop.
The number 31 will get you back the quickest bus stop at the corner of Fishery Lane.
However, whichever bus you get on you will end up passing the house at some point! Combined both bus routes in the main run every 15 minutes from bus stops on the Seafront.

Bus 30 times into Havant from bus stop opposite (Fishery Lane Stop):
6:21am, 6:53am, 7:23am, 7:57am. The bus then runs at 27 and 57 past the hour until the evening as follows: 7:33pm, 8:13pm,9:03pm, 10:03pm, 11:03pm

Bus 31 times leaving Havant bus station back to Hayling. The closest stop for coming back is the ‘Fishery Lane’ stop which is located at the end of Fishery Lane where it meets Rails Lane. Buses run from 35 mins past the hour starting at 5am and then at 5 and 35 minutes past the hour. Then slightly later from after 6pm as follows: 6:40pm, 7:20pm, 8:00pm

After 9:00pm you may need to catch either the 30 or 31 to get home. Both buses will drop at the Fishery Lane stop. Remember though the 30 journey is 35 mins and the 31 takes just 18 mins! 9:00pm (31), 9:30pm (30), 10:00pm (31), 10:30pm (30), 11:30pm (31) last bus home!

A taxi between Havant and the Hideaway will cost roughly £20 depending on the operator and time. The Havant taxi rank is at the Havant train station.
