This is because of simple things: bed has a wood headboard which both looks better and is cleanlier, the bottom of the bed looks sharp with the indented metal frame and no bedskirt (which is always scary/gross looking), there are glass mugs & cups with the paper covering along with paper cups, the mirror has lighting all around, and I love when there is a table and chairs (instead of a gross upholstery chair like other hotels have). Only 2 things of note is it would be nice to have a full body length mirror, but the lighted bathroom mirror is large so it mostly works and to put refillable shampoo & conditioner bottles on the walls of the shower to reduce waste. - "First I didn’t get#12 I got room #14. Taylor checked me in and was very informative of things to do around the area. We traveled to Eagle Harbor one day and the other we stay in Cooper Harbor. The problem was others around you weren’t considerate of moving furniture. Or noise they made. The view of the lake was nice. There was a patio that you could sit out on. Not a lot of bugs. I wouldn’t use the stove inside the place. We had a TV that didn’t work. We went to the office and the Nicks came out n checked it out and we got flatscreen t that worked but we only got 5 channels. Internet was slow. It’s hockey play offs so my husband wasn’t to happy. Finally figured out for my husband to sit in one area and the internet wasn’t working and it was after 6. Room had bed with a dresser with 4 drawers. Nice size bathroom n shower.A fan I guess for the summer. When we got there the heat wasn’t on and we turned it to 70 n warmed up real fast. Turned it down to 55 at night. We left and forgot to turn down the heat the next down and it felt like a furnace inside it was at 70. Outside on the deck there was 2 chairs that look like they hadn’t been cleaned for awhile. Other then the stove I would definitely stay there again."

That isn't really a big concern and certainly won't keep us from staying here again, just an observation. My kids sure didn't care about the decor! We walked to a neighborhood restaurant, but it didn't seem that there were many places to shop or eat right by the hotel; of course, it's possible we went the "wrong" way or would have seen something on another street. We like to try local restaurants and were happy with our selection. If you're not so adventurous, I'm sure the staff at the front desk would be happy to help you find a restaurant to your liking. We would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends and will stay here again."

Quincy House, completed in 1882 is an Italianate Victorian mansion built by Quincy Mining Company to prominently house its highest ranking area official, the Mine Agent. It is the last standing mining company agent's house among the many mines that once exploited the area for copper. Built more lavishly than other mine company structures, it served as a social center during the copper mine boom. Quincy House is currently undergoing restoration and preservation. You're staying in the private, newly restored rear section of the house. We reside in the separate but connected front section that is under restoration. Both sections are closed off from each other and you will not be disturbed by construction during your stay. Your privacy and comfort is our utmost concern. We are happy to give guests tours and talk about the history upon request.

Quincy House has, is and will be undergoing restoration and preservation for years to come. In no way will this negatively effect your stay. In fact you will be able to witness how we are transforming and restoring this famous 143+ year old Victorian Mansion back into the monarch of Quincy Hill it once was.

Beautiful, 1100sf, remodeled home away from home with over 120ft x 20ft of winter TRAILER parking! Snowmobile trails are only a few short blocks (equal to 1 city block) away and are easily accessible from the house. You can ride your sled to the Hancock/Lake Linden trail. Most often there's snow on the roads. Boasts all the amenities; Central air and heating, 50" TV with Roku, Wifi, bluetooth speaker, comfortable beds and bedding, all new kitchen appliances. Along with the basics, the kitchen includes a microwave, airfryer, blender, hand mixer, toaster oven and electric griddle... everything you need to make a home-cooked meal.

The enclosed front porch is lined with windows, rattan furniture and a ceiling fan....perfect for morning coffee or a cocktail in the warmer months. A sunny day heats it nicely in the winter months.
The two bedooms upstairs have very comfortable mattresses and bedding, luggage racks, dressers and the larger has a closet for hanging clothing. There is a queen murphy bed on the main level in the living area that pulls down for additional sleeping (the same comfortable mattress as the upstairs beds) A pack-n-play is available upon request.
There are 2 full bathrooms, one upstairs with a shower, and one with a tub/shower downstairs. I should mention the water pressure is incredible!! Both bathrooms have shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers for your convenience. Towels, and wash cloths are also provided.
The dining room seats 6 and a high chair is available upon request.
All this and only minutes away from MTU (3.2 miles away), 1.5 miles to Downtown Houghton, 1.4 miles to Downtown Hancock, a few short blocks to Mount Ripley Ski Hill and the Hancock /Lake Linden Snowmobile Trail. Also enjoyed the coffee selection and I especially appreciated the coffee creamer in the fridge. Location is convenient to Houghton/Hancock yet is quiet. Please note that we are located along Lincoln St (US41) and the snowmobile trail. I would hate to lose your business because of it, but I would rather make sure you are happy with your stay. If you are a very light sleeper, other accommodations might be better suited for your needs. If want to be in the middle of everything, I have no doubt that you will love it!

As you round the shoreline, the stretching waterfront landscape will catch your eye as you approach the parking lot directly in front of the lodge (Yes! There is ample space for a trailer!). You will use a keyless lock system to enter your cabin.

Open the door and walk down the stairs into your new place. Upon entry, you will be instantly greeted with the aroma of pine which is visible in the tongue and groove walls and ceiling as well as an instant sight of north facing windows capturing a stunning view of the Portage Canal. On second look, you will notice a comfortable queen bed inside a single bedroom and a queen pull out sleeper sofa (sleeps 4 total) among other beautifully crafted pieces of cedar, Amish made furniture.

Each of our hand made, custom milled, northwoods cabins boast a three story duplex including a ground level, garden style unit and an upstairs double decker terrace style unit. The cabin size in total is 2,500 square feet! (550 and 1,950 square feet respectively). They all include full kitchens and washer/dryer units for your convenience and utility.

Walk out the back door onto your patio and embrace the jaw dropping, sweeping beauty of the Keweenaw Waterway in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

A cozy retreat nestled in the forest of the UP just minutes from downtown Houghton and the Keweenaw Peninsula. At the top of a wooded driveway, you'll be welcomed by our free-range chicken flock and possibly our cute little Nigerian dwarf goats. This private off-grid farm stay is located on 14 beautiful acres and provides all the amenities you'll need for a memorable stay, including a private deck overlooking our gardens and solar panels.

The 500 sq ft studio loft sleeps up to four guests in a queen bed and comfortable futon. There is a full bathroom and kitchen with cooking basics, including pots and pans, dishes and silverware, coffee and tea, etc. The studio loft is located above our detached garage and has a private entrance that is completely separate from the main house. Parking is located next to the garage and solar powered lights guide the way up the one flight of stairs to the studio loft.

During your stay, you will have the opportunity to take a tour of our small-scale, regenerative farm. On the tour, you will get a chance to meet our two Nigerian dwarf goats and see our honey bee hives. Guests are welcome to hike around the property and visit with our animals. We also offer a variety of unique tours and experiences, including beekeeping, wild mushroom foraging, and a goat happy hour.

We are conveniently located minutes from several trail systems, including the Michigan Tech Trails that are less than a mile away. Our central location allows guests to enjoy day trips to the Keweenaw Peninsula, the Porcupine Mountains, and other scenic gems offered in the western Upper Peninsula. If conditions are right, guests may have the ability to enjoy stargazing and possibly even see the northern lights (assuming cloud-free nights)!

Charming Cabin Retreat in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Riverfront & Trailside Escape

Escape to this cozy cabin nestled in the serene woods of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Set along the peaceful Silver River, just steps from your front door, this getaway offers the perfect mix of relaxation and outdoor adventure. Guests can even fish right from the property and enjoy the charm of a small private waterfall along the river.

The cabin sits directly on the ATV/ORV trail network and is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, with easy access to snowshoeing, hiking, kayaking, fishing, and hunting. Snowmobilers can ride the trail in front of the cabin to connect with the main snowmobile trail about three miles down the road with no issues. Lake Superior’s breathtaking shoreline is less than 10 miles away.

Inside, you’ll enjoy a comfortable main-floor bedroom with a queen bed and an open loft featuring two full-size beds. The space is thoughtfully outfitted with modern conveniences including WiFi, a smart TV, heating and air conditioning, a washer and dryer, and a K-Cup coffee maker. We also provide a starter supply of K-Cups along with sugar and creamer for your morning coffee.

We include homey touches and essentials to make your stay effortless: six rolls of toilet paper, tissues, a hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, dishes, a cutting board, dish soap, some paper towels, and basic cleaning supplies. For laundry, we supply a starter pack of Tide and Downy.

You’ll also find plenty of parking space for large trucks with trailers, perfect for hauling side-by-sides, four-wheelers, or snowmobiles.

Evenings invite you to gather around the fire pit, grill on the charcoal BBQ, or relax at the picnic table surrounded by nature. Towels, board games, and all the little extras are included to ensure your stay is comfortable and memorable.

This is a room for rent with a private entrance and private bathroom, located in a shared living house. There is a fully stocked kitchen and a dining room available for use with a desk and high speed internet. This room is on the ground floor. There are 3 rooms occupied upstairs by tenants in their 50s who live permanently in this house. We ask you consider this when booking and be respectful of the situation.
This house is located downtown LAnse close to restaurants, Laundry mat, grocery store, and waterfront park on beautiful Lake Superior. Out your door onto the fresh cedar porch the falls river and atv/snowmobile trail runs right behind the parking lot!!

This spacious room features a full bed, dresser, 2 night stands and a mini fridge! A small closet with a close hanging pole for clothes. This room is available by the week or month to month if anyone would like to stay long term (your welcome to bring your own furniture) but…your also welcome to use ours!!!!

Right on the snowmobile/ recreation trail. 1/2 mile from Mont Ripley Ski area. 1 hour from Mount Bohemia.

Cabins 3 & 4 are connected as can be seen in the photos but do not have an interior door between them.

The recreation trail is close by & there might be some noise from that. Especially during snowmobile season.
