- "We spent ten wonderfull days at the Anantara Rasananda. They picked us up at Samui airport for the boat trip to the resort in Koh Phangan. A cool drink was provided at the departure lounge prior to boarding. On arrival we checked in and were amazed at the size, elegance and position of our beach front pool suite, we could not of been happier. The resort is very quiet and each of the units very private, ideal for couples. There is an opportunity to meet other guests at breakfast time or dinner, or during a poolside drink at the bar. All meals are prepared and served with the ideal of providing guests with an enjoyable experience. Please be kind when you review a place that the only shortcoming it’s is location on the hills on top of the seashore, which was a perfect location for us to feel loved was for bedroom amazing view, amazing pool. Everything was just perfect. There is a need to take a ride from the bottom of the hill to the top of the place where the villa is how ever it’s worth while, you can get a taxi driver to pick you up for a few dollars each time it is in amazing place great service spotless amenities and the cleaning service is only once a week. This is something that I would like to change and I have it maybe twice a week so in overall we had a fabulous time and we will come back for sure."

The resort itself is a bit off the main road so it’s a bit of a walk to anything but we just rented a scouter to rip around everywhere so it really wasn’t an issue. - "The property was beautiful, especially at sunset. The pools were saltwater based and they were refreshing after a long day. Rooms were nicely decorated, beachy resort feel. Staff was sweet and welcoming. Great pool bar! A few items I want to mention for anyone considering staying here. When we booked our reservation via Expedia, we opted for the “pay when you arrive” option. Come to find, the property actually needs your method of payment on file prior to arriving. They don’t review their Expedia chat messages very often and are half a day ahead of the US, so it was difficult for us to get in touch. They also would not take payment over the phone, since the reservation went through Expedia. Luckily, they did not cancel our reservation but it was nerve racking for us until we checked in. When booking, you can request a king bed but it is not guaranteed. I booked travel 3 months in advance, requested a king and didn’t receive one. They accommodated us and created a make shift king with the 2 dbls, which was fine. Just know K beds are sometimes hard to come by! If you are on the bottom floor and have upstairs neighbors, be aware the floor boards creak and are thin. We stayed on the 2nd floor and our bottom neighbors came upstairs to inform us we were loud and “stomping around.” Just be thoughtful if you’re above anyone. Overall, we had a great time, and would stay here again. "

The service is incredible, all the staff are very attentive, welcoming and work hard to make your stay perfect. The food and drinks are great, breakfast is very tasty with a great selection. The whole place is well styled, you feel like a Bond villain. It's well located, you feel like you are in the middle of the jungle but with a moped (which you can rent from reception) you can easily and quickly get to beaches, restaurants etc. You can easily spend loads of time here, the views are 10/10, and the rooftop pool is a great place to chill, especially with happy hour drinks! We made the mistake of only booking this place for a few nights as we wanted to try a different part of the island, it turned out to be a disaster with our booked hotel being nothing like the photos. We went back to Varivana ASAP, they welcomed us back and were very accommodating. Overall we'd highly recommend this hotel and we will be back when we're next in Thailand! The only thing I'd say to improve the experience would be to add some music around the pool and bar, particularly at sunset to add to the atmosphere. The ceiling fans & A/C kept us comfortable, and the location was just a short walk to the beach, restaurants, ATM, and shops. We appreciated meeting the owner, who was welcoming and lovely. Our stay was very good, but a few tweaks would have made it great (we know you’re still working out the kinks!): Comfortable outdoor furniture is a must! The side yard has plenty of space for patio chaise lounges and/or hammocks, and the wicker chairs on the front porch need proper seat cushions suitable to remain outdoors. The kitchen could be better stocked with essentials like a bottle opener and additional cookware/utensils. Open wall shelving would make accessing dishes less awkward. Minor improvements to storage and amenities, such as more hangers, and shelves would enhance the overall experience. Lastly, you might consider frosting the bathroom windows to ensure privacy. Overall, this unit has tremendous potential, and with these adjustments, we would wholeheartedly recommend it. As it stands, we still had a wonderful stay and appreciate the staff's hospitality."

The staff are outstanding, got me very good prices on bike rental and tours. Great pool, great spa and they host music about once a week, which was nice and couldn’t be heard from my room if I wanted to go to bed early."
