- "We spent ten wonderfull days at the Anantara Rasananda. They picked us up at Samui airport for the boat trip to the resort in Koh Phangan. A cool drink was provided at the departure lounge prior to boarding. On arrival we checked in and were amazed at the size, elegance and position of our beach front pool suite, we could not of been happier. The resort is very quiet and each of the units very private, ideal for couples. There is an opportunity to meet other guests at breakfast time or dinner, or during a poolside drink at the bar. All meals are prepared and served with the ideal of providing guests with an enjoyable experience. The staff looked after us as if we were family, every request was welcomed with a smile and a promptness that impressed us. Thanks again for a wonderful time."

The Burger shack across the street is unbelievably DELICIOUS! It is undoubtedly the best hotel on this beautiful beach. We stayed in a recently renovated building, where everything was new and well-maintained. However, we found the room layout less than ideal. The entrance features a large glass door, and unless the curtains are fully closed, people walking in the corridor can see directly into the room—including the bed, which is positioned right in front of the door. The pool is fantastic and inviting, providing a refreshing break from the beach, which is just two meters away. The hotel’s restaurant is also a highlight, offering delicious food at reasonable prices, with a breathtaking beachfront setting. The staff is polite and responsive, though the level of service lacks the pampering touch we have come to expect in Thailand."

- "The property was beautiful, especially at sunset. The pools were saltwater based and they were refreshing after a long day. Rooms were nicely decorated, beachy resort feel. Staff was sweet and welcoming. Great pool bar! A few items I want to mention for anyone considering staying here. When we booked our reservation via Expedia, we opted for the “pay when you arrive” option. Come to find, the property actually needs your method of payment on file prior to arriving. They don’t review their Expedia chat messages very often and are half a day ahead of the US, so it was difficult for us to get in touch. They also would not take payment over the phone, since the reservation went through Expedia. Luckily, they did not cancel our reservation but it was nerve racking for us until we checked in. When booking, you can request a king bed but it is not guaranteed. I booked travel 3 months in advance, requested a king and didn’t receive one. They accommodated us and created a make shift king with the 2 dbls, which was fine. Just know K beds are sometimes hard to come by! If you are on the bottom floor and have upstairs neighbors, be aware the floor boards creak and are thin. We stayed on the 2nd floor and our bottom neighbors came upstairs to inform us we were loud and “stomping around.” Just be thoughtful if you’re above anyone. Overall, we had a great time, and would stay here again. "

Most things nearby (walking distance, so, almost everything on this part of the island) seemed pretty desolate, closed or even abandoned. I think COVID took a toll but like I said, I think the streets come alive when the Full Moon party happens. It is about a 15-min taxi ride to the other lively parts of the island but well worth it! There are no TukTuks or other public transport options though so you are at the mercy of the available taxis. They charge more than I had experienced across the rest of Thailand but it is a small, tourist driven island so makes sense! "
