- "We were very impressed with our 4 days at The Zuri Kumarakom. We were surprised to be told that the property is about 25 years old, because it's superb maintenance suggested a much younger age to us. As we rode into the property, we were a bit shocked to see a lot of policemen around. And that turned into panic when they accosted our taxi cab at the hotel porch. I was looking for hotel staff to help us avoid the policemen and to whisk us into the reception. As the policemen unloaded our luggage from the taxi, we broke into laughter realizing that they were actually security staff from the Ambassador Security services! At the reception, Ms Sanu greeted us and readily accepted my request to see the other room types before we occupied the one I'd booked online via Expedia. We liked the villas the most, but it was way more expensive than what the two of could justify splurging. So we settled for an upgrade to the cottage and Ms Sanu helpfully processed the charge of the difference amount. It was an amazing experience to be in the quaint cottage right on the man made lake adjoining the mighty Vembanad Lake. At 4:30pm we went to the Lime Cafe for the complimentary high tea. There, we were offered a sunset ride on the shikara boat. It was quiet inexpensive at Rs 250 plus taxes per person. When we boarded, we realized we were the only ones on board. It was an amazing ride and Aswin was our impeccable host boatman. Our dinner was at the Lime Cafe and we ordered A La Carte as b"

It is described as a ‘treasure in the backwaters of Kerala’ and honestly that did not feel exaggerated from our experience. We had booked the Heritage Bungalow and got an amazing view of the backwaters where in the evenings, we could sit and enjoy a tea ritual, soaking in the serene nature all around us. You get to see eagles (& all their antics!), kingfisher, and all these other birds without even going anywhere! The entire property is very carefully designed to preserve elements of the local environment rather than making it stand out like a sore thumb like how some luxury resorts do. Other resorts could learn a thing or two from their sustainable tourism efforts. Loved it!"

- "My family and I had a very good time at this place. Pros: 1.Rooms were super clean. 2.We had couple of items requested to our room and they were fulfilled very quickly. 3.Food was delicious and served with courtesy. 4.Location was amazing. Breeze from backwater itself can make your day awesome!! 5.Enjoyed complementary boat ride. Cons: 1. Overall property maintenance could be better. observed a lot of dust and dirt on exterior decoratives. 2.There was a list provided that explains activities and Ayurvedic treatments we could choose for an extra cost. Nobody cared to explain this in details. 3.I dnt see staffs that friendly especially greeting the guest during their stay(exception for the restaurant team, they were super nice and helpful). 4.Gym and indoor game rooms are not that great. 5.Complementary bicycle ride was a joke. You should give some decent area for guest to ride the bikes. I wish they had a tender coconut stand opened during day time. Overall,I would recommend this property to others who are looking to relax and rejuvenate."
