This rugged 9 acre property has walking trails, mountain views, gardens, apple orchard and many examples of handcrafted, sculptural homes and structures.
The Stump House ID#1541586 and Mush Room ID#1541712 are adorable little cold water cabins set in a stand of giant fir and cedar trees. Each cabin overlooks a different trout pond. Each cabin has electricity, cold water sink, tea station and wood fired heat in addition to electric heater November through April. The cabins each have a comfortable double bed. The Stump additional has an easy chair that fold out into a small single bed to accomodate a child or third guest. Bring your rain boots fall through spring as the trails get wet and muddy.
Guests are welcome to use and socialize in the beautiful outdoor kitchen located in the apple orchard. The cabins share an outdoor, composting toilet and outdoor shower house. The rustic nature of our property is not for everyone but those who are looking to unplug, reconnect with nature and enjoy whimsical creations will not be disappointed. If you have mobility issues our property is not a good choice for you as the parking area is at least a 100 yards away from the cabins and requires a walk down an earthen trail.

Be ready to make some memories in this 4+ bedroom home with a game room and a large private driveway. The upper level has an open floor plan with a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, laundry room, living room with a fire place, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, one with a jet tub and two decks overlooking the lake. In the garage is a ping pong table, foosball table, two bikes and an extra freezer and refrigerator.The lower level has a game room with a pool table, dart board, air hockey table, pellet stove, two bedrooms, a bathroom, a family room with a TV, DVD player, projector, a variety of board games and puzzles and beach access. The lake side of the house has a dock with a diving board . If you bring a boat there is plenty of space to tie up. We also have 4 kayaks, a peddle boat,paddle board ,windsurf board, life jackets and inflatables for our renters to use. There is a large patio on top of the boathouse overlooking the lake with patio furniture. By the yard is a hammock on one side, a BBQ with patio furniture on the other And a fire pit. There is a back road called Deer Creek that can be more difficult, so it is not the recommended rout.

Outside, there are never-ending possibilities for fun. Relax in the private hot tub, take a peaceful paddle in our 2 tandem kayaks provided, or enjoy a variety of other boating activities. The lake is the perfect place to spend summer days, playing with the kids and swimming. Our western exposure provides ample sun all day. Bring your boat and spend the day swimming, water-skiing or tubing. If you like fishing, the season is open year round. The main species are rainbow and cutthroat trout, as well as brook trout, largemouth bass and kokanee.

The surrounding area has quad trails, hiking, and wonderful biking opportunities. The paved road around the lake is about 8 miles around and well traveled by homeowners and guests. Keep a look out for deer, bald eagles and plenty of other wildlife while you're enjoying the splendor of the lake and surrounding area.

For other activities near by, you can enjoy a round of golf at Overlook Golf Course (20 min away) or Eaglemont Golf Course (30 min away in Mount Vernon). There are also 3 major casinos within 30 to 45 minute's drive: Angel of the Winds, Tulalip Casino and Quil Ceda. While you're in town, you can also hit the outlet mall in Tulalip or head north to the Burlington outlet mall.

Take a day trip to the San Juan Islands by catching a ferry at Anacortes, just under an hour's drive. The San Juans by ferryboat is a beautiful way to experience the Puget Sound.

In the spring, the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is a wonderful event to attend. You can get there easily within 30 to 40 minutes. Don't forget your camera to capture the colorful display. The Kangaroo Farm in Arlington makes a wonderful outing, especially if you have kids who will enjoy feeding and petting various animals.

During fall and winter, cozy up in front of the fire with a puzzle, board game or good book after a bike ride or hike around the lake. The mountains and trees take on a fabulous glow under a dusting of winter snow.

Our castle offers the perfect blend of gathering places and private spaces for groups!

Chefs Kitchen: In addition to the adjoining dining spaces and butler’s pantry; the kitchen features a Viking range and oven, 2 Viking dishwashers, a custom built-in refrigerator/freezer, a x-large basin kitchen sink, an additional prep sink in the large island, an abundance of granite countertop space, and various built-in shelving and food storage spaces. The kitchen comes fully stocked with cookware, dishes, and serving items for 24+ guests. Pair that with its bright open-concept layout and views of the Stilly Valley from every window, you won't want to leave this gem!

Dining Spaces: Our formal dining room seats 14 between 2 long tables. The parlor room immediately next-door seats another 6. The dining nook off the kitchen seats 7. The rear outdoor terrace dining set can comfortably seat up to 24 (seasonal). Our ballroom can accommodate up to 80 (tables and chairs provided).

Living Rooms: 4 living rooms equipped with comfy couches, fireplaces, and TV's with cable.

Outdoor Living (seasonal): Large terrace off the back of the Castle with a family style dining table with seating for up to 24 people, as well as several other terraces throughout the castle.

Location: Less than 5 minutes from I-5 and Angel of the Winds Casino. Just 1 hour North of Seattle, or 1 hour South of the Canadian border. Spectacular views overlooking the Stilly Valley and the Stillaguamish River! The Castle is minutes away from prime shopping (Seattle Premium Outlet Mall, Costco, Ross, Target, Marshalls, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Best Buy), restaurants (Starbucks, Red Robin, Buffalo Wild Wings, Denny’s, Panera Bread, RAM Steakhouse, Olive Garden), and entertainment (casinos, movie theaters, parks, golfing, fishing and swimming holes, seasonal fairs and celebrations).

Amenities:
Movie Theater – Comfortably seats 8 in x-large reclining theater seats with individual cup holders and arm rests. Theater is equipped with full surround sound, 4k viewing, swanky theater curtains, cable + dvd + Blu-ray ability, and a library of over 200 DVD’s to choose from.
Spa Inspired Master Bath – Featuring a custom designed rain shower, steam shower, jetted spa tub, dry sauna, waterfall feature, laundry room, & custom closets.
Ballroom – Our 3-tier ballroom features a built-in custom bar with 2 wine fridges and 2 sinks, two private terraces accessed via double-doors complimented by arched stained glass windows, and a private co-ed restroom. The ballroom comes stocked with tables, chairs, plates, glassware, silverware, and more.
Pool Table/Game Room – Equipped with a full-sized pool table, arcade game, large flat screen TV with cable, mini-bar with wine fridge and sink, restroom, private terrace, and comfortable seating.
Poker Room – The poker table can seat 6 players + a dealer. The brightly lit and windowed room also features 4 arcade games.
Arcade Games – Pinball, Shooting, PacMan, Space Invaders, Asteroids, and MANY MORE arcade games to play throughout the Castle. A play station is set-up in the downstairs living room (and a handful of games are provided).
Outdoor Fire Pit – You will need to provide your own firewood.
Wifi – We recently (June 2024) had Starlink internet installed! You can now enjoy premium internet in our theater and on all of our Smart TV's!

We have 7 bedrooms in total (the master bedroom is #1 of the 7 listed in detail).
We have 10 bathrooms; 5 of our 10 bathrooms have showers/tubs.

Bedroom #2 (Upstairs) - 1 king bed; Private terrace, shared jack-and-jill bath (jack and jill has a stand-up shower AND a shower/tub combo, 2 sinks, a urinal, and a toilet)

Bedroom #6 (Downstairs) - 1 queen bed and 1 full size daybed in the bedroom, and 2 twin beds in an attached 'bunk den' (designed for children/youth); Shared 3/4 bath (stand-up shower only) **The downstairs bathroom is NOT attached to bedrooms. It is across the living room and down a hallway, near the theater. This bathroom is brand new (basement level was just completed in January 2018).

Our base rate includes up to 16 guests. Each guest beyond that is an additional $50 per person, per night. Maximum occupancy is limited to 25 overnight guests. Additional daytime visitors ARE allowed with prior approval. This property is not available for commercial use.

While certain features are a bit dated, the size of the castle more than makes up for it. The entire estate is beautiful and the interior of the "home" is beyond impressive. Our grandkids had so much fun running around, exploring, and playing with one another. We used the movie theater for a family talent show and watch a sporting event in comfort and class. The master bedroom and bathroom is beyond ridiculous. The upstairs bathrooms are perfect and there are ample bedrooms. The downstairs/basement accommodations are best suited for kids or teens as there is only one bathroom for everyone to share. While overall the number of bathrooms to bedrooms is impressive, the basement is a bit challenging. Knowing that in advance could be helpful in assigning rooms. The lights are a bit confusing so make sure you take time to read the instructions carefully and reach out to the host if you have problems. They are very responsive. In general, there is no way to overstate the breadth of the experience. We have stayed in dozens of large rental properties in the region and other parts of the country. This castle experience is unparalleled and you can expect to make great memories. It is expensive but definitely makes a lasting impression. We plan to rent this one again in the future!!"

Welcome to a beautiful forest house that sits on 5 acres of private forest land. Just a few steps to the backyard deck that holds a wet barrel Sauna for 6-8 people with a view of the mountain from the inside window. Walk on the private trail (advanced trail) to a private river beach where you can sit by the fire , enjoy seasonal fishing or unwind to the sound of birds and the river flow. Sip morning coffee in one of the many seats outdoors while watching the sun rise. Two new plug and play hot tubs with multi-color underwater LED lights - 4 people per tub (8 people in total between 2 tubs). Grill bbq on the outdoor grill and finish the night sitting around the bonfire making s’mores while sharing stories.

INDOOR

The dining room has a large dining table to sit and enjoy a meal you can prepare with your entire family in the roomy and well equipped kitchen. The living room has plenty of space for lounging and recliner sofas for extra comfort as you take in the stunning scenery of the mountains and nature. Entertainment room has a pool table, Smart Tv, full body massage chair, popcorn machine and game boards/toys for kids.

You agree to be fully and solely responsible for any accidents you may incur while using the hot tub. You understand the risks discussed above and agree that you will assume all responsibility for yourself and for the consequences of those in your party. You agree to waive any claim whatsoever against owner for accidents or claims arising from using the hot tub.
