- "The location worked great for our family ski weekend" - "I love this condo. The location to the ski slopes is perfect. The condo was clean and nicely decorated, has a balcony that overlooks trees, and is not too far of a walk to the pool and hot tubs. - "Nice condo for our stay. Great location and easy access; cute place. My only thought was that it could use some updating (new pots and pans come to mind). Could have been a little cleaner (there was hair in the bathroom). Also, I only stay at non-pet friendly rentals due to allergies and it was obvious from the minute I walked in that the owners have dogs there. There was a dog pen in the living room and carpets could use a good cleaning under it. Overall would recommend it, though, and we enjoyed our stay."

The Camp Creek Lodge is located in the heart of the alpine village at the base of the Glade Trail. It was constructed in 1938. The cabin features a knotty pine interior and a majestic stone fireplace.

The main level contains the entry foyer, living room / dining area, kitchen, utility room, a full-bathroom, a half-bathroom, and the main entry foyer. The upstairs contains two bedrooms, and a sleeping area at the top of the stairs. Each upstairs bedroom has air-conditioning during summer for better warm weather sleeping. There have been multiple improvements throughout the years to make the cabin more comfortable, convenient, and safe without sacrificing the work done by the skilled craftsman of the 1930's.

The roads to the cabin and parking at the cabin are plowed during winter. There is parking for two cars on site with nearby public parking available for additional vehicles.

The cabin has plenty of yard area for children to play and just up the road at the dead end is a great winter play area with a hill ideal for inner-tubing. Access to the trails along the north side of Government Camp are accessed through this area and lead to a large network of hiking/cross country skiing/snowshoeing trails. Trails to south side of the village can be access by walking over the Multorpor bridge. These trails give easy access all the way to Trillium Lake and beyond.

Village shops and restaurants are only a two minute walk away, ideal for be able to leave the car at the cabin when doing culinary and retail exploring.

The cabin is stocked with board games and videos. The Govy General Store (200' away) rents DVD's and sells items to make your trip even more enjoyable.

While at the cabin don't forget to check out the Mt. Hood Museum and Cultural Center.

This cabin is vintage 1938 (Timberline Lodge era) with a 1974 addition, this means it’s full of quirks and character and that’s why we adore it so much. If you are more comfortable in a sleek modern cabin, we gently suggest this cabin might not be the best fit for your getaway.

IMPORTANT - Shortly after booking our cabin we will request payment for County Room Tax which VRBO is currently unable to capture at booking. These taxes are 6.35% of the amount you pay to VRBO. This situation is unwelcome for everyone, so we hope VRBO will update their software soon! All owners using VRBO for lodging on Mt. Hood are in the same situation. They used to collect this tax but tell us now their software is unable to do it. VRBO has told me they are working on a solution.

- "The area is spectacular, beautiful views and conveniently located in the midst of this cozy small town, walking distance to the Mount Hood Ski Bowl, restaurants and hikes. Ten to 20 minute drive for many other hikes and outdoor activities such as Trillium Lake (kayaking, fishing, swimming) and Old Salmon River Trail. Also, it was a 1.5 hour drive to Portland and about a hour drive Columbia River Gorge area to see some breathtaking waterfalls. The home was impressive. It was clean and updated and modern with a beautiful view.It was well stocked with kitchen and bathroom supplies. The kitchen had all the utensils, pots, plates, glasses, mugs, spices, paper towels, napkins, ziploc bags, dishwashing products, etc. Laundry room had tide pods and Spray and Wash, lots of towels, blankets. There were also plenty of board games and puzzles to keep our family busy. There were smart TVs in all the rooms. We definitely felt at home! My one recommendation is to have a Keurig instead of a coffee maker. Also, there was a welcome bag with snacks and rose wine! We would definitely stay again!!"

The Doig Cabin at Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp is located just five minutes south of Government Camp in the stunning Mt. Hood National Forest! Your rental will not only deliver an unforgettable stay, it will support a great cause!

Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp is a non-profit organization that empowers children and adults with disabilities through equitable access to the outdoors and recreation. Our 22-acre campsite hosts 500 campers each summer, multiple winter retreats and a Family Camp. On any given day, our campers are catching fish, conquering their fear on the adventure course, whitewater rafting, canoeing on Trillium Lake, and dancing the night away at campfire. Camp doesn’t only offer outdoor activities, it offers the chance for people with disabilities to make new friends and build a community in a non-judgmental environment.

MHKC relies on generous contributions from donors, and renting out our facilities during the off-season (September-May) to be able to provide an affordable experience for all campers.

Our Doig Cabin, built in 2013, is perfect for a family vacation or a secluded getaway. September and October feature beautiful sun, changing seasons, and warm weather, while winter offers access to skiing and snowshoeing. Camp is located near multiple day hikes that leads to Little Zig Zag Falls, Paradise Park Trail, and the Timberline Trail. We have an adventure course on site that could be utilized as well for an additional cost. When the weather begins to turn, the magic of the mountain really shines. We are located five minutes away from Mt. Hood Ski-Bowl and ten minutes away from the chair lifts at Timberline Lodge.

Our cabin provides privacy while still remaining very close to Timberline. The cabin can sleep five people and has a fully functional kitchenette. Your stay here helps ensure that we provide an affordable and truly life changing experience that empowers our campers to live their lives without limits.

Please note that parking is approximately 300 yards from the cabin. A cart or sled (depending on the time of the year) will be provided next to the parking area to take your belongings to the cabin.

The Half Pint Lodge is a small studio cabin in the heart of the village. It is within walking distance to all the local restaurants and businesses. It is complete with a wood burning woodstove placed in a stone fireplace, perfect for cozy winter stays.

The roads to the cabin and parking at the cabin are plowed during winter. There is parking for one car on site.

Access to the trails along the north side of Government Camp are accessed at the upper end of Blossom Trail road and lead to a large network of hiking/cross country skiing/snowshoeing trails. Trails to south side of the village can be access by walking over the Multorpor bridge. These trails give easy access all the way to Trillium Lake and beyond.

Village shops and restaurants are only a two minute walk away, ideal for be able to leave the car at the cabin when doing culinary and retail exploring.

The cabin is stocked with board games and videos. The Govy General Store (200' away) rents DVD's and sells items to make your trip even more enjoyable.

While at the cabin don't forget to check out the Mt. Hood Museum and Cultural Center.

IMPORTANT - Shortly after booking our cabin we will request payment for County Room Tax which VRBO is currently unable to capture at booking. These taxes are 6.85% of the amount you pay to VRBO. This situation is unwelcome for everyone, so we hope VRBO will update their software soon! All owners using VRBO for lodging on Mt. Hood are in the same situation. They used to collect this tax but tell us now their software is unable to do it. VRBO has told me they are working on a solution.

- "Had everything needed for our family stay with plenty of space for bags and kids to play. Just as pictured! Appreciated the selection of toys and books so we didnt have to bring much from home. For toddlers having 2 sets of stairs was a concern but we were able to put a gate we brought at the bottom of one set and used one of the big comfy chairs to block the stairs down toward the garage. Thought the bunk is in the loft there is enough separation between the loft and living room so kids could sleep while we were still awake downstairs."

- "The cabin is very clean and located in a very quiet serene setting. All you hear is nature all around you. It's very conveniently located easy walk to all the trails around trillium lake and a quick drive to government camp or up to timberline for more hiking or views. It was very clean and well kept. Don't expect anything fancy as the place is very rustic but it has all the basic amenities you need. The kitchen was very well appointed with all the necessities there are plenty of towels and the beds were very comfortable. Escape to the Snow Shire Cabin located in the heart of Government Camp. The Snow Shire Cabin was originally constructed as a Forest Service Ranger Station until it was moved to its current location. The cabin was recently remodeled with updates to provide all of the modern amenities while keeping some of the original building’s charm.

Nestled on the banks of Camp Creek, the covered porch offers year-round outdoor access while soaking in the sounds of the rushing creek. The simplistic vibe of the décor, along with the high ceilings, is inviting and warm. Snuggle up on the couch and gaze at the native rock gas fireplace in the cozy living room. You can prepare your meals for your vacation adventures in the remodeled kitchen with a large slab dining table or take a quick walk to all the restaurants in Government Camp.

Getting Around:
Ski bowl, restaurants, bars and shops are in walking distance including a small grocery store. There is some public transportation on the mountain taking you from Portland to Government Camp all the way up to Timberland. The Mt Hood Express or Hoodland Shuttle Co are great options for transportation services to and around the mountain.

Other Things to Note:
✔ No pets outside Registered Services Animals that must be registered with the HOA, failure to do so results in a $250 fine.
✔ Please note parking is on a first-come, first-serve with limited spaces out front. You may have to park a second vehicle alongside the road. You will need a snow pass to access certain areas for parking, including alongside the street out front.
✔ The HOA manages all common areas including the hallways, rec room, laundry room, entry doors, heating system and the pool. The HOA occasionally has to close certain areas for repairs and often times does not communicate to us when common areas are closed for repairs. Your rental is for the room only, all other amenities cannot be guaranteed as they are outside of our control, if they are open and functioning you are welcome to use them. No refunds or discounts will be provided due to the lack of an HOA managed amenity.

- "We had a pleasant 1 night stay in our suite at Thunderbird Lodge. The accommodations were as described. Large spacious 1 bedroom. Building has definite ski lodge vibes when you enter, especially the games room. Had the large heated pool to ourselves all evening. The unit itself is in need of some TLC, but everything is in good working order. I would recommend choosing one of the lower units as the walk to the 3rd floor with everyone’s luggage and groceries was a bit of work. Also bring your own coffee filter if you want to make your own coffee. Coffee is abundant but I didn’t want to attempt to use a paper towel to filter it. "

Dee Cabin is our weekly refuge from city life. It sits in the heart of the Upper Hood River Valley, nestled on three acres between Trout Creek and the East Fork Hood River. Just 15 minutes from Hood River and world's finest kite-sailing, SUP and windsurfing. Fifteen minutes the other direction you will find both Nordic and Alpine skiing at Mt. Hood Meadows. Just 30 minutes from Lost Lake and the Mark Hatfield Wilderness. Area.

The house sits next to a 1 acre meadow, surrounded by tall Douglas Fir, Scented Cedar and Big Leaf Maples. Hidden in the trees is a large area of Horsetail Ferns and huge Skunk Cabbage. Take a good book to the Adirondack chairs placed in the shade next to Trout Creek. Watch for the daily appearances of Goldfinch, three types of woodpeckers, Stellar Jays, Robins, Turkey Vultures, Northern Flickers, Hummingbirds, Rough Grouse, Nuthatches, Warblers and Northern Orioles. Keep a look out below so as not to step on the Rough Skinned Salamanders awkwardly making their way from the ferns to the creek.
