Silver Falls is an Oregon state treasure, and one of the most visited parks. Enjoy a memorable experience when you stay in this peaceful, unique place. Our hidden gem is surrounded by the forest, in the foothills of the cascade mountains, directly across from Silver Falls State Park. A short 1/2 mile walk will bring you to the North Falls parking lot, or use our pass for free parking anywhere within the state park.
The space
Enjoy your stay at our luxury suite. We chose every detail with you in mind. There’s a small living room, with a TV/DVD player, to relax after a day of hiking, and a bedroom with a queen bed. Listen to Silver Creek (across from us) from your open window. The couch pulls out into a queen sized bed, as well.
Guest access
Guests have complete use of driveway in front of their private entrance. No more than two vehicles on the property. Use of side yard to the left of the apartment, up the concrete stairs. Back yard is private, family use only.
Other things to note
We do not have a kitchen, but we do have a kitchenette, complete with a microwave, mini fridge, coffee/keurig pot, hot water kettle, and toaster. Dishes, silverware, and other utensils provided. Dishes and mugs are microwave safe. There is a gas grill outside, for guest use. Please do not bring/use hot plates, instant pots, crockpots or any other type of cookware.

Molalla River Cottage is comfy and bright, tastefully decorated, and offers a pleasant respite for those seeking peaceful relaxation in a beautiful rural setting. Entering the front door you will find a fully equipped kitchen with everything needed to prepare your own meals if desired. As you walk through the kitchen you will find the open living room with gas burning fireplace and hardwood floors. There is a comfy sofa, chairs, and a daybed for lounging or sleeping. Togetherness awaits whether you choose to relax with a good book or enjoy a movie or music on the DVD player.

This getaway is a single-level floor plan for those with limited mobility although there are a few steps to the front porch and a step down to the living room. - "This Cottage was the perfect getaway for my wife's birthday. It was secluded enough that while the main property isn't too far looking from the place, it's plenty far enough feeling. The river access was a little confusing, since it has you go away from the river first and kinda stops being marked when you enter a field behind the Cottage, but with nowhere to go except through the field it's hard to miss the river. There was a really friendly outdoor cat who paid us a couple visits, which was fun for us as we are cat people. The only hitch we ran into was a lack of spatulas in the kitchen, and one of the baking sheets doesn't fit in the oven. Otherwise our stay was perfect."

The Kitchen:
Guests will feel at home in the well equipped Gourmet Kitchen. The custom tile, marble countertops and Oak flooring throughout create a great space to cook a delicious family meal, or just hang out and enjoy the lovely views of the farm and pond from the kitchen window.

There is a comfortable living room with a cozy down filled sectional sofa. TV/DVD player with a large collection of movies and lending library for your enjoyment.

*A separate family room creates an additional living space. Or a 3rd 'Bedroom' with a comfortable full sized Sleeping Sofa. It has access to the front porch with lovely views of the farm. An ideal place to sit and enjoy that early morning cup of coffee. Comes complete with fun board games, puzzles and a chess set.

Dining Room:
The gracious formal dining room has a large Refectory Table that seats up to eight guests. Ideal for hosting a dinner with family and friends in comfort and style!

Bedrooms:
The large Master Bedroom suite has a queen size bed with crisp cotton sheets, luxurious down comforters, pillows and a Wool Berber carpet. The master bath has a tub/shower. This stylish bedroom has access the deck and private Cedar Hot Tub through a French door.

*There is also an additional sleeping annex with 2 twin beds located off the master bedroom and is ideal for families.

The 2nd bedroom has a full size bed that is a handmade Luxury Mcroskey.

- "This house was great for our group of three women. The host was gracious and provided some lovely welcome treats when we arrived. And the kitchen was incredibly well stocked! We enjoyed wandering around the property to pet the horses and sitting on the patio. We took day trips to Silver Falls, Mac's in Silverton for lunch, and Baumans Farm. It was delightful. The host was available if we had any questions and we enjoyed chatting with her. It was nice!"

Enjoy a relaxing stay right on the north Santiam River at the Spring Shire House.

A family-built 2014 house of ~3000 square feet to provide plenty of space for relaxation. It sleeps 14 and can handle more if needed. Nestled on the banks of the North Santiam River, it provides waterfront views and access for swimming, rafting, kayaking, or fishing.

The house is fully furnished and waiting for you! The first floor contains a master bedroom and master bath, with jacuzzi bathtub and shower. Upstairs you will find 3 large bedrooms with spacious closets and queen sized beds. All rooms include a dresser and walk in closet.

Also upstairs is 1 large bonus bedroom with 4 built in bunk beds plus a queen bed and a divan for kids. The bonus bedroom has a unique feature -- a hobbit door for an entry. Round, functional and fun, it is sized for the little people including a peephole. The room is decorated with Hobbit and Lord of the Rings posters and items to add magic to a child's imagination. There is also a stock of toys there for kids of all ages. There is a standard fire door for adult/emergency ingress and egress.

2 full baths upstairs and 1.5 baths downstairs keeps everyone happy. Bathrooms are already stocked with normal toiletries.

Throughout the house you will find bookshelves with books and/or movies to entertain. A smaller TV upstairs will let the kids watch videos or play on the PS2. Downstairs a large 55" TV provides adult viewing options, with both DVD and Blu-Ray capabilities along with a Netflix account. The house has wifi with 5G speed for internet devices and browsing.

The kitchen is fully outfitted including incidental supplies and condiments. Includes a stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator and 2 deep sinks for ease of use. Cupboard contain a full set of dishes, glassware , silverware, cookware and standard spices for dining/cooking in. An ultra quiet dishwasher will handle the mess while everyone enjoys the activities on the first floor. The large island, with 4 bar stool chairs, create a casual eating place if desired.

The great room contains a 12-person dining room table made from polished classic barnwood with matching benches, giving a great feel of country living. Next to it is a small kid-sized table with an inlaid chess/checker board and four chairs. There are additional tables/chairs in a nearby closet for even larger groups.

The room continues to a large sectional couch, recliner, area rug and some chairs and stools. The entire side of the house facing the river has large windows and benches with storage (puzzles and games) and cushions to allow river viewing while relaxing, and plenty of seating. A gas fireplace completes the cozy room.

Outside in the back is a concrete patio with quite a bit of seating, and was recently expanded to wrap around to form another river viewing area on the side of the house as well. If interested, pull the full size BBQ out from the garage and connect it to the propane outlet built into the house for grilling up a quick bite or slow roasting steaks.

Feel free to grab the rafts, paddles and life vests out of the garage for a trip down the river (standard run to a nearby state park takes 90-120 minutes and runs through about 6 rapids, most Class 2 and one Class 3). Or perhaps fishing is your way of relaxing -- grab the poles and tackle box from the garage and see if you can land a steelhead or rainbow trout.

Any visitor will be drawn to the river, with its relaxing hum and cheerful water swirls. It is shallow enough along the bank to allow easy swimming and wading for younger kids but wide enough to allow the rafters and kayakers to slide by with no more disturbance than a wave from the bank. Grab a chair and rest your feet in the cool water, perhaps skip some rocks or just relax and watch the water.

A rope swing on an apple tree and the nearby fire pit (with firewood cut close by) round out the outdoor items. See if the kids can find the secret fairy door hidden somewhere along the base of the house...

Mill City is a quiet town in the foothills of the Cascades and near multiple hikes, parks, and recreational opportunities. Many choices and some legendary pizza distinguish this hidden gem of a community.

This house was built on property owned by our grandfather, who loved the river and passed that down to us. We use the house ourselves and want to share the relaxation and fun that we experience every time we visit. We hope you will enjoy your stay!

The main floor has fully equipped kitchen, dining table for 8, and living area stocked with family games, puzzles, 55" smart-TV, and DVD player. The lower floor has two bedrooms, full bathroom, and washer & dryer. The loft-suite includes a small living area, smart-TV, 2 queen beds, and twin trundle bed. Outdoors, we have camp chairs, fire pit w/wood, BBQ grill, holey board set, water toys, and frisbees for outside play.

Detroit offers year-round activities including boating, fishing, hiking, mushroom picking, snowmobiling, biking, ATVing, or just a relaxing getaway. The house is .8 miles to Detroit Lake, 17.5 miles to Breitenbush Hot Springs, 36 miles to Hoodoo Ski area, 56 miles to Sisters.

Important Notes: Our home is a non-smoking home inside, with smoking allowed only outdoors at least 10 feet from the house. We welcome animals. Please inform us in advance so we can make necessary arrangements for your stay.

The only very slight negatives were no bathroom upstairs for the loft and the outdoor grill was only half-working. But overall 5 stars!! Many extra thoughtful items for renters. The biggest problem was the lack of shade outside. The only shade was the small porch and the temperatures were between 90 and 100. I will say the ac worked very well. The other big factor was the lack of a bathroom on the second floor. If all these things were addressed the house would be perfect. I understand that the owners have not owned the property for very long, and in talking to the owner, they are still working on it."
