Silver Falls is an Oregon state treasure, and one of the most visited parks. Enjoy a memorable experience when you stay in this peaceful, unique place. Our hidden gem is surrounded by the forest, in the foothills of the cascade mountains, directly across from Silver Falls State Park. A short 1/2 mile walk will bring you to the North Falls parking lot, or use our pass for free parking anywhere within the state park.
The space
Enjoy your stay at our luxury suite. We chose every detail with you in mind. There’s a small living room, with a TV/DVD player, to relax after a day of hiking, and a bedroom with a queen bed. Listen to Silver Creek (across from us) from your open window. The couch pulls out into a queen sized bed, as well.
Guest access
Guests have complete use of driveway in front of their private entrance. No more than two vehicles on the property. Use of side yard to the left of the apartment, up the concrete stairs. Back yard is private, family use only.
Other things to note
We do not have a kitchen, but we do have a kitchenette, complete with a microwave, mini fridge, coffee/keurig pot, hot water kettle, and toaster. Dishes, silverware, and other utensils provided. Dishes and mugs are microwave safe. There is a gas grill outside, for guest use. Please do not bring/use hot plates, instant pots, crockpots or any other type of cookware.

Guests will feel at home in the well equipped Gourmet Kitchen. The custom tile, marble countertops and Oak flooring throughout create a great space to cook a delicious family meal, or just hang out and enjoy the lovely views of the farm and pond from the kitchen window.

The Living Rooms:
There is a comfortable living room with a cozy down filled sectional sofa. TV/DVD player with a large collection of movies and lending library for your enjoyment.

*A separate family room creates an additional living space. Or a 3rd 'Bedroom' with a comfortable full sized Sleeping Sofa. It has access to the front porch with lovely views of the farm. An ideal place to sit and enjoy that early morning cup of coffee. Comes complete with fun board games, puzzles and a chess set.

Dining Room:
The gracious formal dining room has a large Refectory Table that seats up to eight guests. Ideal for hosting a dinner with family and friends in comfort and style!

Bedrooms:
The large Master Bedroom suite has a queen size bed with crisp cotton sheets, luxurious down comforters, pillows and a Wool Berber carpet. The master bath has a tub/shower. This stylish bedroom has access the deck and private Cedar Hot Tub through a French door.

*There is also an additional sleeping annex with 2 twin beds located off the master bedroom and is ideal for families.

The 2nd bedroom has a full size bed that is a handmade Luxury Mcroskey.

Enjoy a relaxing stay right on the north Santiam River at the Spring Shire House.

A family-built 2014 house of ~3000 square feet to provide plenty of space for relaxation. It sleeps 14 and can handle more if needed. Nestled on the banks of the North Santiam River, it provides waterfront views and access for swimming, rafting, kayaking, or fishing.

The house is fully furnished and waiting for you! The first floor contains a master bedroom and master bath, with jacuzzi bathtub and shower. Upstairs you will find 3 large bedrooms with spacious closets and queen sized beds. All rooms include a dresser and walk in closet.

Also upstairs is 1 large bonus bedroom with 4 built in bunk beds plus a queen bed and a divan for kids. The bonus bedroom has a unique feature -- a hobbit door for an entry. Round, functional and fun, it is sized for the little people including a peephole. The room is decorated with Hobbit and Lord of the Rings posters and items to add magic to a child's imagination. There is also a stock of toys there for kids of all ages. There is a standard fire door for adult/emergency ingress and egress.

2 full baths upstairs and 1.5 baths downstairs keeps everyone happy. Bathrooms are already stocked with normal toiletries.

Throughout the house you will find bookshelves with books and/or movies to entertain. A smaller TV upstairs will let the kids watch videos or play on the PS2. Downstairs a large 55" TV provides adult viewing options, with both DVD and Blu-Ray capabilities along with a Netflix account. The house has wifi with 5G speed for internet devices and browsing.

The kitchen is fully outfitted including incidental supplies and condiments. Includes a stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator and 2 deep sinks for ease of use. Cupboard contain a full set of dishes, glassware , silverware, cookware and standard spices for dining/cooking in. An ultra quiet dishwasher will handle the mess while everyone enjoys the activities on the first floor. The large island, with 4 bar stool chairs, create a casual eating place if desired.

The great room contains a 12-person dining room table made from polished classic barnwood with matching benches, giving a great feel of country living. Next to it is a small kid-sized table with an inlaid chess/checker board and four chairs. There are additional tables/chairs in a nearby closet for even larger groups.

The room continues to a large sectional couch, recliner, area rug and some chairs and stools. The entire side of the house facing the river has large windows and benches with storage (puzzles and games) and cushions to allow river viewing while relaxing, and plenty of seating. A gas fireplace completes the cozy room.

Outside in the back is a concrete patio with quite a bit of seating, and was recently expanded to wrap around to form another river viewing area on the side of the house as well. If interested, pull the full size BBQ out from the garage and connect it to the propane outlet built into the house for grilling up a quick bite or slow roasting steaks.

Feel free to grab the rafts, paddles and life vests out of the garage for a trip down the river (standard run to a nearby state park takes 90-120 minutes and runs through about 6 rapids, most Class 2 and one Class 3). Or perhaps fishing is your way of relaxing -- grab the poles and tackle box from the garage and see if you can land a steelhead or rainbow trout.

Any visitor will be drawn to the river, with its relaxing hum and cheerful water swirls. It is shallow enough along the bank to allow easy swimming and wading for younger kids but wide enough to allow the rafters and kayakers to slide by with no more disturbance than a wave from the bank. Grab a chair and rest your feet in the cool water, perhaps skip some rocks or just relax and watch the water.

A rope swing on an apple tree and the nearby fire pit (with firewood cut close by) round out the outdoor items. See if the kids can find the secret fairy door hidden somewhere along the base of the house...

Mill City is a quiet town in the foothills of the Cascades and near multiple hikes, parks, and recreational opportunities. Many choices and some legendary pizza distinguish this hidden gem of a community.

This house was built on property owned by our grandfather, who loved the river and passed that down to us. We use the house ourselves and want to share the relaxation and fun that we experience every time we visit. We hope you will enjoy your stay!

Guest cottage located 15 minutes from Historic downtown Silverton, 10 minutes from Silverton Reservoir and 20 minutes from Silver Falls State park. Master bedroom with Queen size bed, upstairs loft with 2 extra long twin beds, and twin size daybed in living room with twin trundle. Kitchenette has microwave, toaster, coffee maker, suitable for breakfast and heating up food. Full size fridge. Minimum stay 2 nights, Maximum stay 4 nights. This is a private guest cottage separate from our residence. Experience a taste of county life with Dogs, Cats, Alpacas, Goats, Turkeys & Chickens on our 9 acre's. Note for guests: While we are not “ off the grid”, we can and do loose power, have sketchy cell service and problems with * Wi fi. We do have a generator which will run the essentials. The downstairs is heated and cooled by a new mini split and will sleep 4 guests comfortably. There is a window air conditioner in the loft upstairs, but on hot days it still gets very stuffy and warm. We are in the COUNTRY, bugs and critters live here. We do not use Herbicides or Insecticides as we are a home to Bees. We our best to keep unwelcome visitors at bay, but sometimes they drop in uninvited. For guests who have allergies- we do have cats and dogs- and seasonally there is field buring in the area. PLEASE read the welcome email from VRBO that you will receive prior to your stay. It will have detailed directions and contact numbers, the property can be challenging to find.
We have been having major issues with Wi-fi, so while there is a booster in the guest house we can’t guarantee you Wi-fi, thus we have removed it from amenities.

Comfortably Sleeps 4: The Studio features the main Queen size bed. There is also a Queen hid-a-bed foldout.

Year-round Fun At Detroit Lake: In the summer, boat rentals are available to enjoy many of the lake's activities such as water skiing, fishing and tubing! Rent paddle boards and kayaks for kids and adults alike at the new Experience Store downtown. The winter offers skiing at nearby Hoodoo Mountain Resort (40 minutes drive time) and luxurious hot springs at Breitenbush (only 11 miles away) or explore snowmobiling or snowshoeing options. NOTES:

1. Lake water level--We cannot control the water level of the lake. It is controlled by the Army Corp of engineers. During the Spring and Summer, the water from Detroit Lake has multiple purposes including Recreation, fish habitat, as well as irrigation and drinking water for communities down stream. In the winter, Detroit Lake is used as a reservoir for flood control. Normally, Detroit Lake is at it's fullest in May and June and the Corp slowly lowers the level of the water level over the summer until it readies the Lake for the winter precipitation.

2. Cable or Satellite TV-- Unfortunately, cable TV is not offered in the mountain town of Detroit and due to the location of the property, we have been unsuccessful obtaining proper satellite connection. Therefore, we do offer a variety of DVDs, board games and puzzles for family entertainment. There is also DVD rental available at the gas station across the highway. WE DO HAVE HDMI / LIGHTENING CORD CONNECTION AND CAN STREAM MOVIES.

The entire house including deck and gazebo overlooking Bilyeu Creek are available to guests. French doors open to patio access from the master bedroom, the living room, and the office. There is a Traeger grill, picnic table and lawn chairs available for patio enjoyment.

The home is located on our family's privately owned 700 acre tree farm. This ranch was The National Tree Farm Winner in the year 2002. There are lakes, a fish hatchery, and an antique museum to view only with pre-arranged guided tours as optional. It is a working ranch so guests are asked to not wander through without a guide for guests safety as well as respect for owners. Hiking on the gravel roads up the mountain is not advised during any logging season. However the neighborhood has ample road ways that many enjoy hiking, jogging, and cycling; which is encouraged in order to enjoy the lovely area. Most of the surrounding properties are privately owned and require no trespassing.

Interaction with guests

We would love to meet our guests in person and answer any questions that can help make your stay more comfortable. If guests need to arrive at hours we cannot do so, it's quite easy for our guests to enter with our keypad entry at the noted arrival time requested. There is adequate outdoor lighting for late night arrivals. We would love to get a text when you've arrived, and have a plan for a time to meet you when convenient. We'd also appreciate being notified when you are actually closing the door for the ending of your stay. We'll have a house manual with internet access code and other information you'll appreciate having on site for instructions on operating the home. Your hosts live at the next property not five minutes away and are readily available to address any questions or concerns. The homes you share the main driveway with are not your hosts. Please contact us directly, we are happy to accommodate special requests as we can. Weekly cleaning and linen laundry services are available for additional negotiable fees.

With futon in office and deluxe queen air mattress, we can host up to 6 guests. Master bath includes jetted tub, enclosed shower and large walk-in closet with linens and hangers included. Large laundry room with front-loading washer and dryer and craft area. We have an elliptical machine and stationary bike for use in laundry room as well. Kitchen nook table in bay window overlooks flower bed. Pantry is initially fully stocked with staples such as coffee, teas, spices, and various condiments, as well as some canned and dry goods. Guests are responsible for pantry restocking for extended stays. The office also has some basic office supplies. A hospitality basket of personal hygiene supplies is available for your needs.

The beds were comfortable and it’s always great to have 2 separate full bathrooms. The kitchen was perfect for making meals. The land the house sits on is stunning. The sunset is expansive and beautiful!We received complimentary items such as waters and trail mix and granola bars which is always a nice touch.They also gave us a commentary park pass which is just so nice!The park is minutes away and wow, it is impressive!I highly recommend the trail of ten falls depending on your groups activity level. I would say it’s an easy hike but it is 7 miles. But you can’t go wrong here! The falls are spectacular!I will definitely come back here! "

The home was built in 2024 and is cozy but modern. On the main floor there is an open space living room, dining room, and kitchen. The gas fireplace makes for a great gathering place in the house. The kitchen is fully stocked with all items necessary for food preparation. The primary bedroom, with its own bathroom, is on the main floor as well as an oversized laundry room. There is another half bathroom off the living room. On the second floor there are two bedrooms, a full bathroom, and another large living space that has a queen size sofa bed. There are three smart TVs in the home, along with an X-Box Series S gaming system, and lots of fun board games for the family.

The property has plenty of parking for at least 3 cars. There are numerous spots on front and back decks for your enjoyment. The firepit is a great place to relax and enjoy time together! There is an outdoor shower in the backyard that can be used in the warmer months only.

The home is close to everything in Detroit. It sits across from the Community Center and City Park making it a great location for events that are held there. It takes less than 5 min to walk to the lake, grocery store, or food trucks! Please note that it is located in an area that is rebuilding and so there is frequently construction noise.

Note: Detroit Lake is a reservoir, and the water level is controlled by the Army Corp of Engineers. The lake is typically full May through August and draws down in the fall and winter. This varies year to year. If you’re looking to launch a boat, check on the lake level ahead of time!

- "This place is a total home run. You pull through the locking gate and immediately see how much parking space there is. Plenty of room for all your cars, trailers, RVs, whatever. And the pull through driveway is easy to get around the entire thing with room for multiple family cars. You then walk into the entryway and are immediately floored by the elegance and beauty of this home. As you walk through the hallway into the great room style kitchen and dining area, you cannot help but gasp at the incredible river views that continue as you walk out onto the roomy and lovely deck. Trust me when I say you will want to stay here all day. The rooms are perfect for large families and the master is really nice. Bunk beds in one, and a selection of beds upstairs. The showers are nice, the kitchen is fantastic and the game room is where we gravitated later when the night got chilly. The vintage video game consoles are cool, pool tables are a ton of fun and the tv is large and high quality. The river access is steep, especially for little kiddos but its very high quality and the owners have done everything they could to make it safe and easy to get to the river. We had quite a few kayakers and stuff like that going by. Tons of fun! I can't say enough about how great this place is. Book it!!"

This property is on a dead end road surrounded by privately owned timber tree farm. It has river frontage along the the Roaring River. It has a private picnic area along the river to enjoy the sun and shade during the day.

The Roaring River is said to be the only river in the world to flow into a creek.

Please be sure to stay in the kitchen while your are using the range and oven. Be sure all burners and oven are off when you are finished.

It is also outfitted with cooking utensils, pots, pans, dishes, immersion blender, small electric mixer, waffle iron, etc.

There is also a gas grill on the patio for outside cooking. Please turn propane tank off when not in use.
