Ever wanted to stay on an island? Now is your chance. Close to Chicago and Rockford but you’ll feel like you’re in a far away land.

We have updated the cabin so no roughing it here, wifi for those tv nights, updated bathroom and a modern kitchen, comfortable beds, lots of TVs, a vinyl player, a stereo system.

There are two houses on the island however one is under renovation so you’ll be renting the newly renovated one that we just finished June 2022. Everything is brand new. Ready for renting. The smaller house will not be ready for rental at this time. You will still get the whole island to yourself.

You’ll have the whole island (5 acres) to yourself. You can play music as loud as you want (we have an extremely loud sound system)
We have a 2 person Kayak, paddleboarded, an inflatable boat that seats 4 adults, lots of river floats, fishing rods, lots of board games, two grills and a smoker. You’ll never be bored on this island.

Our boat driver will drop you off and pick you up. If you need boat service too and from the island throughout the trip that can also be arranged.

We have a John boat you can use the entire trip included in the stay

This property is located on the tranquil Rock River in Oregon, Illinois and is perfect for a couple or family to get away. Enjoy fishing from the large deck or while out on the water with your boat. There is a boat ramp available only one mile away in town and at Castle Rock. One hundred feet of river frontage at the house for convenient docking and ease of use. The barbecue will come in handy when you want to keep an eye on your fishing pole while preparing a delicious meal. There are two bedrooms with two beds each. The master bedroom has two new queen beds. They are supremely comfortable so that you will sleep like a baby! The second bedroom has two twin beds and there's a hide-a-bed in the living room for larger get-togethers. The kitchen is fully stocked with a large table for your group to gather at. The living room has two full couches and entertainment center. Views of the river are also enjoyed from the sunroom and kitchen. Our friendly neighbors might give you a wave. Explore nature on any of the hiking trails of the surrounding three state parks. You'll find many activities to interest you such as horseback riding, dinner cruises, golf, and swimming at nearby lakes! Ask us where to find the bald eagle's nest! This vintage bungalow is bright and welcoming. Inside, enjoy the charm of natural wood floors, century-old woodwork and high ceilings. Four bedrooms (great beds!), two baths, and a fully-equipped kitchen provide a sense of home and comfort for your family and friends. Outside, the screened-in front porch is a pleasant space to relax, and the back yard fire pit invites everyone to gather for memorable evenings. The large, park-like property has many mature trees, and guests often see deer, turkeys and other wildlife.

The Rock River is the centerpiece of Dixon, the hub of its history and a major attraction for visitors. The city’s downtown district is within walking distance of the house and has the distinction of being listed on the National Historic Register because of its architecture. You can eat out, shop and, if your timing is right, enjoy one of several annual city festivals.

The many options for outdoor recreation include boating, canoeing, kayaking, and water skiing on the river, or hiking, biking, horseback riding, and jogging on park trails. Lowell Park (200 acres) offers scenic drives, trails, a dedicated natural area and nature center, picnic shelters, playgrounds, and boat access. Meadows Park is a 567-acre open space along the Rock River that includes hiking trails and sports fields. Also worth your time and attention are three nearby state parks: Lowden State Park, Castle Rock State Park, and White Pines Forest State Park.

The King family has had its own place in Dixon history ever since the house and farm were given to the owner’s grandparents as a wedding gift in 1915. The property is located on the Rock River in Oregon, IL and is perfect for group gatherings up to 8 people. Enjoy fishing, kayaking, or canoeing on the Rock River. Golfing at Silverridge Golf course is about 10 minutes away. Like hiking? There are multiple parks close by from Castle Rock, Lowden State Park and White Pines. These are beautiful state parks that could take days and days to do all the trails. The house is 2 ½ miles from the town of Oregon which has multiple restaurants, bars, a grocery store and a Dollar General store for any emergency necessities that may be needed. Other activities close by; horseback riding, golf, and you can enjoy a lunch or a dinner cruise on the Rock River.

The cabin on the river is a must see. If you need to get away from it all, then this is the home for you. There’s a full-size kitchen with all the amenities to cook meals, an outdoor gas grill, and multiple decks to enjoy the views of the river. If the weather is not cooperating and you just want to watch TV, you can pop in a movie in the DVD, or watch TV with Roku next to a cozy gas fireplace. There are plenty of games to choose from and lots of books if you just want to relax with a good read.

The cabin has 2 bedrooms with queen beds on the 1st floor as well as a bathroom w/jacuzzi tub. There’s a bedroom w/2 twins beds upstairs along with a bathroom and a loft area that houses another queen bed.

Feel free to bring your canoes/kayaks or rafts as there is a launch pad up by the dam in town which you can drift down till you arrive at the house. What better way to enjoy your day than to float down the river.

If you're an early riser, you can enjoy seeing the sunrise. Or, enjoy a beautiful sunset at the end of the day all from the back deck. Into bird watching? There's hardly a day that goes by that you won't see an eagle flying along the river.

When privacy was needed, we retreated to our respective quarters, which were roomy, yet also quiet and cozy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fuller Hill House." - "Key box was bit tricky to find. There is currently no dock or direct access to the river. The Oregon dam is 10 minute drive and a popular fishing destination, as well as a public boat launch in Byron (5 min drive).

The space
This downstairs unit of a two story duplex house has 2 bedrooms, bathroom, full kitchen, and living room area. This listing is for renting the downstairs only (we do not rent the upstairs if there are guests in the downstairs unit). The back yard has a small deck and is completely fenced - you will not share the backyard with anybody else. Well-behaved furry friends are welcome. The house sits on a quiet street with easy parking.
Guest access
There is free parking on the gravel driveway next to the house and also free street side parking as long as cars are parked in the direction of traffic. Oregon has no public transportation options so walking, biking, and driving are the options for getting around.

Internal doors connect the 2 units giving it the feel of a single home, with an extra kitchen thrown in! There is also a stackable washer/dryer unit on each floor. The back yard has a small deck and is completely fenced. Well-behaved furry friends are welcome. The house sits on a quiet street with easy parking.

- "Overall was a really good experience. The property manager was very good at rapid communication. The beds were super comfortable and very clean. In fact the whole house was clean and smelled fresh . The towels were well stocked , and while it was an older property it had kind of a grandma's house feel to it . Homey like. The door jam on the front entry way was broken when we came in and we had to kind of kick it back in place several times , and there was a black and yellow wasp issue in the upstairs (we killed three of those things) but the automatic lights at the front were a life saver, the fenced in back yard was super and the neighborhood felt very safe . We all agreed it was , again .. like visiting grandma's house . We would absolutely book again if needed ."

Enjoy this cozy cottage by the Rock River nestled on a hilltop. The home is on a 1.4 acre wooded lot on a private, dead-end street. The kitchen has been recently updated with new appliances and granite countertops. The family room w/ vaulted ceiling, features a foosball table & game table area stocked with games/dvds. Out back you will find a gazebo, sitting area, grill (charcoal not provided) and firepit. Take the nature path down the small hill (adjacent to the driveway) and take in river views from your private fishing dock (summer).

We love our home nestled among the trees and nature. It was built in 1935, but has been renovated nicely over time. The wooden ceiling beams, hardwood floors, and 2 stone fireplaces give the home a cozy cabin-like feel. The kitchen and dining room have an open floor layout. Enjoy the large open front yard. Our kids and their friends love to play basketball or foursquare on the large flat driveway area in front of the attached garage.

Our guests are free to access the entire first floor of the home, which includes kitchen, dining area, living room, 3 bedrooms, and 1.5 bathrooms. No space inside the home is shared with anyone else. In addition, guests may use the enclosed gazebo behind the home. The attached and detached garage is not for guest use.

Guests are also welcome to explore the 1.4 acre lot. There is a property map included in the Welcome binder to show our property boundaries. Guests are also free to use our fishing dock (the one closest to the bridge, summer time only).

Bring your kayak/canoes to launch from the private fishing dock (summer only) and enjoy the scenic river views. Bring your fishing poles to catch carp, catfish and other fish right off the dock. When facing the dock, to the left there is a sandy area, in which our boys love to dig around for mussels, clams, and play with frogs. Recently installed reverse osmosis water filtration system for drinking water and ice. Please note also, our home is located next to Route 2. There will be road noise when cars pass by.

Plus if you like to cook and save money by not eating out on a vacation for every meal, the kitchen was great, it has everything you need! The sound from the highway was a little loud at night, we didn’t realize how close it was to IL-Route 2, but we still slept good!"
