Just one full bath but there’s a toilet in the downstairs, unfinished basement with full laundry utilities!!!!! Exactly what we needed! We are renting the Lower level of our personal residence. The lower level is equipped with a microwave, stocked mini-fridge (complimentary beverages), stocked Keurig (complimentary coffee), 1 bedroom (Queen bed), living area and bathroom. Renters will have access to the outdoor pool (in season), outdoor hot tub, fire pit, patio with table and chairs. Location is close to downtown New Glarus ( 2 miles), the New Glarus Brewery (<1mile) New Glarus Woods state park/bike path (<1 mile) and Baileys Run Winery (4 miles). Madison/Verona is only a 20-25 minute drive. Monroe is a 20 minute drive south.

Dottie's Place a 2 bdrm private space. Gorgeous views of the valley from the Master bedroom and the open adjoining living and kitchen space includes a warming fireplace. The master bathroom has a jet tub, with abundant natural light. The kitchen is equipped with pots, pans and utensils. There is a hideabed for additional guests. There is another rental onsite, as well as our home attached to Dottie's. We are between Blanchardville and New Glarus, with plenty of local attractions.
April raises heritage hogs. 2 times a year there are piglets on the ground. We are eco-groovy foodie folks that love nature and do our best to respect the natural world and live in harmony. The linens are hung to dry. There is no need to bring bottled water, our well is tested annually, and the water is exceptional out of the tap.

Most of the land here is being restored to prairie by Steve, along with a few acres where the pigs pasture. Rare songbirds choose our property to nest and fledge from each year. The bees and butterflies are abundant seasonally. Because we live in the country you might find some of the outside world has found its way inside such as spider, flies, pollen or a woolly caterpillar. The trout stream is tiny and evolves throughout the year and always offers a soothing sound.
Please let us know ahead of time if you need coffee, would like to purchase fresh farm eggs or sausage. We do allow pets, have a pet policy and fee we share when folks let us know they want to bring their furry friends.

Southwestern Wisconsin is abundant with beauty.

There are restaurants that offer the traditional Friday fish fries in Blanchardville and New Glarus as well as other towns around us.
New Glarus offers history, shops, cheese, festivals, and the brewery. Monroe is nearby as well, offering Saturday Farmers Market, shopping on the square, and one of the older brewerys in WI. Plenty of parks in this area: New Glarus woods, Yellowstone lake, Blue Mounds, and lovely trout streams too.

Trout streams, cheese factories, breweries and lots of history around us. Lots of peace here.

We offer horse experiences for kids, teens, and adults for an extra fee. This includes a hands-on experience exploring the basics of horsemanship: We begin with grooming, tacking, and learning about the fundamentals of building a relationship with our equine friends. Each participant will experience the thrill of a one-on-one riding lesson, and will gain the experience and confidence to take the reins for a ride around our arena. All safety gear is provided and photos are welcome! No prior riding experience necessary.

It is right next door to an excellent restaurant, but had we decided to cook in, all the necessary items were there. The beds were very comfortable. Our home is close to New Glarus, known as "America's Little Switzerland," and just 5 minutes from Albany town and Sugar River, where you can enjoy canoeing, tubing, and fishing. The area also offers access to multiple Ice Age trails. The surrounding countryside is perfect for biking, with the Sugar River State Trail connecting New Glarus with Monticello, Albany, and Brodhead. This 24-mile trail courses through a bucolic agricultural region, along the oxbowing Sugar River and Sugar River State Wildlife Area.

A nine-mile portion of this trail is the Albany Segment of the Ice Age Trail, which travels from Monticello to Albany. At Monticello, the Sugar River State Trail intersects with the Badger State Trail, which connects Madison and Freeport. The Sugar River State Trail, one of the gems of bicycling in south-central Wisconsin, winds from the Swiss village of New Glarus to Brodhead in Green County. Along the route, the trail passes over 14 wood bridges, many of them over the Sugar River or Little Sugar River. A replica covered bridge crosses the Norwegian River near Brodhead.

In Albany, take a break from hiking or biking to enjoy a relaxed float down the Sugar River in an inflatable tube. This popular activity is bustling on almost any summer afternoon.
