The house has been updated with modern conveniences but retains its old-world charm and elegance. A well equipped kitchen, super-comfy beds, and lots of natural light, make this perfect for a romantic getaway or family vacation. The 1700 sq ft house is a stones throw from a park with tennis and pickle ball courts and an amazing outdoor pool. It is a short walk (4-5minutes) to the Shakerag Alley Arts Center and the main High Street. Short hikes can be had within Mineral Point by climbing Merry Christmas hill. Close by places to visit include: House on the Rock, Governor Dodge State Park, Spring Green, American Players Theatre and more.

You can access all areas of the house and gardens, feel free to wander the wooded trails in the back and sit fireside at night under a canopy of stars! I am available for check in and check out as needed, I can also give an overview of Mineral Point, if you’d like. I can also leave you alone if you’d prefer privacy.

Many people have come for a weekend or short visit only to fall under the magical spell, and return (sometimes years later, sometimes just in a matter of weeks!) to make Mineral Point their permanent home. Work retreat: We’ve hosted several ‘work retreats’ during the week for people who want to escape the city and their office - message me for discounted rates when you book 4 consecutive nights, Monday to Thursday.
All Children: We welcome children staying at the house, a few simple toys and picture books are provided for their enjoyment, located on the lower shelves in the main lounge. Small children: Also, if needed there is a pack and play, and a high chair for a baby/toddler can be provided (Svan brand, wooden chair with tray and safety straps), please let me know 1 day ahead of arrival if you’d like to use it.

Floor plan: The upstairs bedroom has two twins and one full bed in it (As shown in the photos). Access to the upstairs bedroom is through one of the main floor bedrooms, via narrow stairs. This floor plan works best for friends and family groups who know each other already.

Exterior Steps: Mineral Point is a hilly place and like much of the lodging in Mineral Point there are exterior steps up to the house. This house is not a new build: the house dates back to the 1920’s and descendants of the original owners live close by. The house is welcoming, comfortable, and has lots of original features and charm. But it’s not perfect, if you are looking for an all modern experience this is not the Cottage for you.

Everything in the center of town is walkable, including Pendarvis and for us the wordlanders gathering. This house is an historic home that was built in 1833 on land owned by Jamison Hamilton the founder of Darlington. During your stay you will find bits of history and pictures that have been gathered along the way. It has all the comforts of home. The downstairs floor is cement which is not my personal favorite but it seems to go with the style of the house. It is directly across the road from the dirt race track so our son loved watching from the front yard. The race cars do get noisy but they are done by about 9:30 at night so it is not that bad. This house is definitely worth staying in"

This cabin is located between Belmont and Mineral Point, just a few miles off of highway 151. The property is just a half hour from Dubuque, Iowa and one hour from Madison.

Property Details:
This cabin sits back in a wooded landscape overlooking a few hundred acres of cattle grazing the picturesque hills of the driftless region. Start the day off with a cup of coffee on the porch, and end it with your favorite beverage in the light of the bonfire. For the avid ATVers, this property is conveniently located just 1.5 miles from the Cheese Country ATV trail and all township roads are open to ATVs.

This home can comfortably sleep 10 people. Two rooms are equipped with queen beds, while the 3rd bedroom has 2 trundle beds. One of the queen bedrooms is an open loft area. There is also a comfortable queen pull out sofa bed located in the living room. There are two full baths, one located on each level. Please note that towels are not provided. You will not have access to the garage.

There is a spacious kitchen fully stocked with cookware and appliances (including a toaster, coffee maker, keurig, blender, and griddle). A grill and fire pit are also available for cookouts. There is a second residence located on the property that is separate from the house.

We've been doing this since 2000! This year we chose Jolene and Tony's villa because it had enough bedrooms and is tucked away off the beaten path. Upon arrival, Jolene gave us a quick tour, which was helpful. When you walk into the home you immediately notice all of the repurposed barn wood. There is nothing old about the home though. It's got all the modern amenities you'd expect like zoned AC, a full kitchen, gas grill, fire pit, wraparound porch, Wi-Fi and 3 bathrooms. I don't remember reading about a working farm but there is a chicken coup, ducks and dogs on the property. There is also a cabin that can be rented separately so other people may be on property too. While it is private, we did have several cars come down the driveway and then turn around. Overall, we had zero problems. If you're looking for an alternative to staying in Galena, consider the Villa. Check in and Check out was a breeze and we appreciated Jolene and Tony for respecting our privacy. We are located just outside of town. By 🚗 you can get to town in under 2 mins. OR use the Cheese Country Trail for a nice stroll 🚶‍♂️ that will take you right to the bottom of High Street with many shops, bars, and restaurants.
We are located on 12 acres 🌳 and you are welcome to roam our trails right down to our pond. Our ducks are growing fast! They are fun to watch play in the pond. Have a seat and enjoy the sunset 🌅 from the bench overlooking the pond.

You may see us around as we also live on the property and may see our boys running around on their 4 wheeler. Feel free to say 👋, we love to interact with our guests.

This is our guest house located on the same property we live. It is a totally separate house and you will be able to enjoy everything to yourself in privacy. You may run into us outside or in the yard however. Feel free to say hi! We love to meet our guests. Feel free to walk around the land and use our mowed trails as a guide. The trails will take you right down to our pond and loop back around. If you're quiet enough, you will likely see a lot of wildlife!
Please drive slow in and out of the driveway as we have kids and animals always running around the property.

●If bringing pets please keep them on a leash at all times while outside as we have free range chickens and kids running around too.
●Please make sure to clean up after your dog. We provide bags as well.

Enter through the beautifully maintained Foyer up the staircase to the spacious second level welcoming you with beautiful woodwork, high ceilings, and wide hallways. This property has three bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has one queen sized bed, Bedroom 2 has one twin sized bed, and Bedroom 3 has one queen sized bed. There are also two full sized couches in the living room that can be used as additional sleeping accommodations.

The Leadmine Lodge is a perfect base camp to explore UTV routes and is a short distance to rural taverns, supper clubs, and the Fever River. The Cottage is 1,000 feet from the Leadmine Tavern – voted the #1 dive bar in the country in 2024. The cottage is located in the heart of the former lead mining region and the Fever River Valley. It is withing walking distance of the Leadmine Tavern, four miles to New Diggings, one mile to the Horseshoe Bend waterfall and fishing hole, three miles to Benton, WI, seven miles to historic Shullsburg, and seventeen miles to Galena Illinois. There are several supper clubs within a UTV or snowmobile ride. No stoplights here!
Smallmouth bass fisherman will find the location perfect for access to the Fever River and its feeder streams. Bring your kayak as The Fever is a great paddle. Local maps are provided in the lodge. The house has been recently updated and well equipped for a weekend or a week. The house is a three bedroom with one full bath with a washer and dryer. There are two queen beds downstairs, and the upstairs private bedroom has a king bed all with new comfortable bedding. There is a large mud room to contain your exploring gear. Guest will have access to the entire house and yard. Entry is gained thru a key pad. Please be respectful of the neighbors.
