This cute, brick, one story 1940's home was fully remodeled in 2022 with a fun modern vibe. The entire home is one level which is perfect for families with younger children or individuals who enjoy a nice place without steps to navigate. Why pay for 2 or 3 cramped, cookie-cutter hotel rooms with uncomfortable sleeping arrangements when you can spread your family out in 3 bedrooms and get a good night's sleep for less money? Our cozy home is located in a nice, safe, centrally located area of Dubuque very close to Flora Park, Bunker Hill Golf Course and the relaxing Body & Soul Day Spa. We are 1/2 a mile from Clarke University, less than a mile to University of Dubuque and 1.5 miles from Loras College. Emmaus Bible College is 1 block away. Bunker Hill Golf Course (public course) is 4 blocks away and you can walk just a few blocks to one of Dubuque's biggest and best parks. Flora Park has several fun kids play areas, a wonderful community swimming pool and several tennis courts. Hillcrest Park is also just a few blocks down the street in the other direction. Our home also has a large, newly fenced (June 2023) flat back yard that is great for kicking a soccer ball around or playing frisbee. Dogs love it! New patio area added June 2023. Home has convenient off street driveway parking for 2 vehicles. No steps to navigate to the entrance.

The Lodge’s sprawling floor plan offers incredible two-story vaulted ceilings, a stone fireplace, kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite counters, large (NEW!) deck, private screened porch, wine bar, and a laundry room with washer and dryer. Four of the five bedrooms are king suites with a full bath, whirlpool tub, and kitchenette.

Additionally, the Lodge is handicap accessible and outfitted with a ramp at the front entrance, an elevator that goes between all floors (please notify Owner if you’ll require use of the elevator), and a lower level King suite with an accessible shower and restroom.

Other great features include 2 dedicated workspaces complete with fiber optic WiFi and Roku TVs in every room.

The Main Level entrance takes you through a laundry and mud room to the kitchen which opens to the towering Grand Room. Also on the main level is the sunroom with a trickling indoor pond (on a timer) for your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. The Main Level Queen bedroom has a full closet, TV, and private, screened balcony. Lastly, a restroom is across from the Queen bedroom as well as an office which includes a desk, extra monitor, and printer.

The 2nd Main Level entrance wraps around the backside of the Lodge for privacy. Upon entering, you’ll walk into a sitting area and see a half-bath opposite the stairs that lead to the Upper Level King Suites. The King suites are identical and include a kitchenette (mini refrigerator, microwave, sink, and cabinets), closet, sitting area, and full bathroom with a stand-up shower and jacuzzi tub. Additionally, one of the King Suites has a full crib and rocking chair for your little one. Between the rooms is an open landing with a twin bunkbed, desk and couch for you to relax while you catch up on emails or read.

The Lower Level opens to a full bar stocked with glassware, a wine refrigerator, and a mini refrigerator. Between the 2 King Suites, unwind on the huge sectional to watch your favorite sports game or play foosball on a Tornado Classic Table. Both of the Lower Level King Suites have kitchenettes, sitting areas, and full bathrooms with stand-up showers and jacuzzi tubs. Also, both have private walk-outs to the patio. Note one of the Lower Level King Suites is handicapped accessible.

Outside the Main Level you may access the new composite deck that overlooks the property. Deer are near in the early morning hours and see what birds you can identify while sipping coffee! Our favorites are humming birds, cardinals, and finches.

Upon one of the highest points in Dubuque County, sits The Black Barn. With sight lines over 70 miles, it feels like you are in big sky country. The spa area with an indoor pool and hot tub has a two story wall of windows allowing you to see the million dollar view. The Black Barn sits on 7.5 secluded wooded acres, including a large patio with fire pit overlooking the scenic valleys. Black Barn has six bedrooms, a game room, three baths and accommodates and sleeps 16 guests. Guests on property are limited to 16.

- "There were twelve of us staying here for a mini family reunion with my siblings, our spouses/significant others and my parents. The house is new and very clean. The house sits on a hill with a great view. Since we only had a couple of days together, we wanted to maximize our time being able to talk and enjoy each other. The house was perfect for having meals there with a nice kitchen that made making home made meals easy. The indoor pool, hot tub and sauna were great! There is a large big screen TV in the family room and and even larger TV in the pool area. We did need to rearrange the furniture in the family to accommodate all of us being in there at the same time. There were only two downsides that we felt were minimal overall: 1. the kitchen table was too small for all of us to sit around, but the seat at the island accommodated the overflow 2. There was a problem with the breaker so a walk full of outlets weren’t working, including all outlets in one of the first floor bedrooms; so charging phones or anything requiring electricity wasn’t happening there. But we easily worked around that minor glitch to what was a great weekend. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting the area. Lastly, George was very responsive throughout the process. It was a pleasure!"

You have a completely remodeled private space on the walk-out level of my home. Many windows looking out to the woods, flowers, and to watch birds and wildlife. Bright and positive space. Open floor plan, a carpeted bedroom area with king bed, a full-size memory foam sleeper sofa, a living room, mini-kitchen, laundry and bathroom. The mini-kitchen includes a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, crock pot, toaster, table and chairs. The desk, looking out at the woods, is a perfect place to reflect, read, and write. The entire space is completely updated. Private entrance. This is in a quiet residential area of Dubuque. I live upstairs with my dog. Safe and secure.

Amenities include: 60" HDTV with Amazon Prime, Netflix, and many DVDs. I provide shampoo, conditioner, soaps, makeup remover. Hair dryer and curler. Guests will have private access to the lower level of my home only. It has a private entrance around back. Free parking right in front of my home, on my side of the street, facing in the right direction. Go around the block instead of using neighbors' driveways to turn around (Iowa law). Walk up the driveway and down the steps.

You will love the gardens, back yard area and wooded view. It is private and peaceful. Lots of wildlife, birds, and pollinators.

My space would work well for a visiting nurse, an adjunct professor or business person who needs a place a couple evenings a week. Or, if you are just passing through, it is a nice space to relax before taking off on the next leg of your journey.

I would entertain a conversation about long-term stays depending on length. Nightly and cleaning fees are negotiable for long-term stays.

In the warmer months, be sure to check out our backyard, which is fenced on 3 sides (open only at the house corner near the driveway) for added privacy. Inside, we've added recessed, dimmable lighting in the common areas to create a more enjoyable and comfortable experience during your stay.

Guests have access to all areas of house except the basement. The basement door which is off the kitchen area will be locked.

- "3 middle-aged ladies met in Dubuque for a Galentine's Weekend (Feb 14-16). We arrived just before the snow really started coming done. Annie's on Adair was the perfect cozy spot to hang out. We cooked, we watched movies, and we played games. The cottage was immaculate and we lacked for nothing. It's the perfect get-away for small groups. (The host was diligent in keeping the sidewalk cleared of snow... Which was much appreciated!) We thoroughly enjoyed our time."

Centrally located home on a peaceful street. Within one mile of 3 local universities and about 20 minutes from Galena and Dyersville! Comfortable home with an updated kitchen and bathroom. Park securely in the attached garage and enjoy the screened in porch in the backyard. This peaceful retreat offers main flooring living with 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The bedrooms are furnished with 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, and 2 twin beds, and the living room includes a single pull-out couch. With WiFi, heating, and AC, guests can relax and feel right at home.

Welcome to our cozy 1 bedroom/ 1 bathroom house. You'll feel right at home with an efficient layout to maximize all 546 sq ft. Enjoy nature sitting on the back deck overlooking small creek and wooded area. Located on Dubuque's north end. Great space for traveling professional looking to skip on a cookie cutter hotel stay, or weekend getaway for couples! Close to John Deere facility and hiking/walking/bike on the Heritage trail right from the front steps.

- "Disappointed by Inadequate Management Upon arrival, I encountered a strong smell of weed, which was particularly uncomfortable and unexpected, given the property’s description as suitable for professionals. This was compounded by a mismanaged dehumidifier that hadn’t been emptied or set to drain. The bathroom layout was cramped, making it difficult for even slim individuals to navigate between the sink and the doorknob (18 inches is inadequate see hip bruises). The back deck was covered in leaves and walnuts not cleared for use. The couch was uncomfortable for sleeping, and I wouldn’t expect anyone to get a good night’s rest on it. The thermostat appeared to be a programmable or Wi-Fi-enabled system, but it wouldn’t allow the AC to be set below 70 degrees and kept resetting to 78. Upon returning to the house, I found a humidity alarm reading 71 percent and the temperature at 78. My initial concern about the smell received a delayed response and was indifferent without any solutions. Problems from previous tenants, like the odor and the broken shard of glass left behind, shouldn’t be my responsibility to deal with. While the convenience of accessing the Heritage Trail was nice and the price was reasonable, the overall lack of attention to the property made for a less than satisfactory stay for three people. I cannot recommend this property until it aligns more closely with its description, and I would caution against staying at any property managed by Rentcube."
