Ocean View beach is one of Dunedin's best kept secrets. We lived in Dunedin for 14 years before we discovered it in 2004 and we've lived here ever since. Seven kilometres of beautiful white sand just 15 minutes drive from the centre of Dunedin. The weather is usually better than in the city with average temperature about 2 degrees warmer. The beach is often fairly deserted so don't be surprised if you're the only human in sight. If you're lucky, you might get to meet some other visitors as we often see sea lions on the beach and fur seals and penguins on the rocks near Brighton.

Bothan Beag is your own private dwelling in a quiet neighbourhood with a country feel, yet very handy to the city. We pride ourselves on providing a clean, restful and comfortable "home away from home". You'll be surrounded by trees down your own separate driveway.
Other things to note
- There is a step up to the shower
- Whilst well equipped, the kitchenette is better geared towards basic meals (as there is not a full sized oven etc)
- We can accommodate up to six guests, but the unit is compact and the single beds in the third room may be less comfortable for "larger" adults!

Notice for larger groups, or winter guests... we have in the past had power overloads if too many appliances are running at the same time. Please be mindful of this, particularly when using the laundry facilities. If this does occur, the trip switch is up at the main house and we have an alarm system which will alert us to flick this back on for you.

There's a great heat pump to warm everything quickly. There were 2 queensize beds and 2 single beds. There was extra bedding in the cupboards and a portacot which we didn't need to use. The only downside would be the driveway down to the house. We needed to reverse down so we could get out easily. We loved it. Perfect if your partner snores and you need an extra room!!"

Take the 16kms to Taieri Mouth for coastal scenery, fishing, walks and picnics.
