There is plenty of sunshine however to give you gold in your tan if not in your pan on this awesome ridge. Orchard Rise falls to a tranquil valley and quiet double glazed and insulated home. It is hard to believe how close it is to the cafes and shops across the river, the willow hung river trail to Clyde, and the duck and wildfowl habitats on the hill. Explore on foot or use the mountain bikes provided to check out the trails of nearby Jolendale park, The Roxburgh Gorge Trail or the Rail Trail. There are many golf courses, motorbike, BMX and mountain biking areas and some lovely swimming spots as well as the local pool and multisports complex. We are two minutes from the Clutha boat ramp and ten minutes from Lake Dunstan and Clyde. Cromwell's historic quarter and Highland Park Raceway is twenty minutes away, Wanaka and Queenstown lakes with their adjacent ski fields within the hour. Paul and I live in the main house with our very well behaved pets - Skyla (a small dog) and Vader (cat).
The property has one other cabin which may have other guests during your stay. However, the loft is still very private.
If the cabin is not occupied during your stay then you are welcome to use the hot tub.
We have golf clubs and a couple of e-bikes for hire should you wish to explore the local bike trails.
If you are travelling by bike and need transport to other areas this can also be arranged.

Fairytale Log Cabin at Homewood Retreat is nestled among a beautiful pine forest with mountain views in the distance.

Spanning over two levels this unique home is full of charm and intrigue.
Downstairs consists of a large open plan kitchen and dining area, a sunken lounge with an open fireplace and large cathedral style windows to enjoy the beautiful views of the pines and mountains.
There are 2 bedrooms with a Jake and Jill shared bathroom and a super king master bedroom with en-suite as well as a separate toilet off the living area. Upstairs has a loft bedroom (king bed) and a large open plan TV area with two double beds.

Please note that there is no bathroom upstairs and guests staying upstairs would need to access the downstairs bathrooms as per the listing description above.

The property also has another two Airbnb cabins should you require additional accommodation for a larger group. We can host up to 16 people. See our other two listings under my profile for more information. Should you wish to have the entire property to yourselves this can be arranged.

Guest access
The entire house and its immediate surroundings. There is also a hot tub / spa pool which guests are welcome to use when the cabin is not booked out by other guests. Should you wish to book the entire property this can be arranged for an additional fee.
We also have 2 E-bikes, 1 regular mountain bike and golf clubs and fishing rods for rental.

We do not allow parties or loud noise after 10pm. Please review the house rules before requesting to book.

We have a couple of chickens who may be around the house from time to time. However they mostly stay near their little house on the other side of the property and can be kept inside their pen should this be needed.

We don't typically rent out the downstairs area where there is a third bedroom. However, we can accommodate 6 people (i.e. 2 people in each bedroom), so please ask if this option is available.
